Chapter 13 The noise in the house had settled enough that Dylan heard a distant rumble of thunder. Another storm loomed on the horizon. The faint sunset revealed black clouds approaching, ones that stretched for miles. They resembled a tidal wave about to crash ashore until lightning flashed between them. Each second it lit up the sky, his fingers twitched. He wanted to release the same blinding energy and strike Layne with it. Dylan's life would be easier if his former friend were dead.
