The Three Big Bad Wolves

“I am Nick my love.” His words pulled on my heartstrings. But that can’t happen I can’t pull anyone else into my screwed-up life. Anthony can bust through that door any minute and kill us.

“We all need to keep our voices down my son is asleep in his room.” I shushed them. I looked at Nick his face twisted when I said, son.

“I’m Chris. You must be Alex.” He shook my hand. “So Lex what happened? How did you end up here? You went to a meeting.”

Oh my, it is like in all those books, the three of their eyes are black their mind linking each other. They could see my jaw drop. “Alex,” Lex says my name now he finally knows it. “What were these novels you were telling me about? How you knew my wife’s name was Anna?” Lex asks.

I pull out my phone open the app, opened their story and passed them my phone. “That’s your story. That book is complete the second book is going now. How is that working out Emma trying to blackmail you and using magic on you to mate with her? Then you find your real mate Sammy and you have to figure out how you and your dear Samantha are going to be together or do evil win?” I asked.

“You know about Sammy?” Chris questioned.

“So you do end up together. Of course, I also know you call her Samantha when you are trying to get her in the sack. Plus I know Lex is the Alpha, Chris you are his Beta and Nick is his Gamma. These books are done in intimate detail. Some of you have very interesting s*x lives. Is King Stephan real? He and Lauren; the s**t they do is hot.” I was excited wanting to know what was real and what wasn’t their faces dropped.

“Steph is going to lose his mind when he finds this out,” Lex says.

“Well, the three big bad wolves. There’s a sofa bed there. The couch. Lex, you should take my room so you can get a good rest.” I heard a low growl come from Nick. Lex raised his hands to Nick. “I can sleep in bed with Jake,” I tell them.

“We will not take your bed. Chris and I will take the sofa bed and your mate will take the couch.” Lex smirked. You could have knocked me down with a feather.

I grabbed some bed clothes for them and I went out by the door and had a few puffs of my pipe. “You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.” Nick was standing on the deck and started to walk toward me.

“I doubt that but thank you.” I blushed. Why is this man the most perfect man I have ever seen? His silver eyes would make anyone melt. I know he is only interested because he feels some bond. Being human I don’t feel that only I felt a pull towards him.

“So you have a son? How old is he?” He asked then rubbing the back of his neck. “Is his father in the picture?”

With that panic set in. Anthony knows I read these books. He knew I love that particular story. Even as a story Nick always made me feel different. This has to be a setup to get Jake and me back. He would kill me I don’t know what he would do to Jake. It wasn’t like he wanted him.

“Alex, Alex!” Nick had his hands on my shoulders trying to bring me back to reality. Then his large arms wrapped around me pulling me into his chiseled chest. He started stroking my hair. “Nothing is ever going to happen to you, my love. I will protect you and our boy with my life.” He swore to me right there.

I pulled back. “I have to go to bed. One of you can take my bed I will sleep in bed with Jake.

Lex POV

I’m not sure why I was ambushed in the middle of the forest. But when I got away I knew I couldn’t take them all at one time. Plus I was in a strange place. I was working on some business deals in Canada with the Northern Blood Moon pack. As they border my pack the Nightshade pack in the Northern Mid East. Well, north and central we have a fairly big pack. Big enough there are two main pack houses. I live in the one in the northern part and I have one in the southern part of the pack where my brother lives and my father is teaching him to help me run the pack on that end. When I offered him the job he was so excited.

As I was running through the forest I was being drawn a certain way it was like an orb taking me that way. When I saw a small cabin with an outside light on. As I got closer to the cabin I could see a woman standing there. She heard me and when she saw me she took off inside the cabin. I got to the deck and changed back into human form before I passed out thinking of my beloved Anna.

I wake up and I’m in a double bed in a room with pine walls. Whatever was placed on my wounds had me jump out of the bed. The woman in front of me was putting iodine on my wounds. Once I got her to stop. I had her call Chris or Nick to give them our location so they could help. I have brought the fight to her door. I couldn’t leave her unprotected. She didn’t want to leave her son with me but finally, she did and left. There was something about her that I was drawn to. No not in that way; my Anna was my everything. She felt like a sister to me someone I would watch and protect with my life if I had to.

After a few minutes I was still sore but I looked down my wounds were healed. Even as a werewolf I can’t heal that fast and I’m sure the iodine couldn’t do it. I had no clothes here and I could tell it was her and her son so there were no men's clothes here; so I wrapped the blanket around me and went to the couch. I could see the toy box, her son was young by the toys. She must have had him young. Well young for humans they try to wait till they are in their late 20s to start having babies. She couldn’t be more than 21 and that’s stretching it.

She came back puzzled about how my wounds were healed and I was up and out of bed. Then she asked about Anna. Did Chris or Nick tell her? Her face froze in terror. She knew I was a wolf I was trying to calm her down. I wouldn’t hurt her but she needed protection from my enemies now.

With that Chris and Nick come through the door and a growl comes from Nick “MINE.” Hell Nick is scary to wolves let alone humans. She told me about the books so when he said MINE she was in fear again. Chris passed me clothes before Nick blew a gasket with me being naked under this blanket in front of his mate.

“Nick she’s human, take it easy.” I opened the mind link with the three of us.

“How did you get here?” Chris asked.

I started to tell them when Alex; found out what her name was when Chris came in. Started to tell us about sleep arrangements then went outside.

About 30 seconds later Nick went out behind her.

About a minute later Alex comes in and goes into her son's room.

“Care to tell us what happened?” I asked Nick

“She looks freaked out Nicky what did you do?” Chris asked.

“I asked was her son’s father in the picture and she had a panic attack.” Nick linked us. “She’s scared of him I don’t know what he did to her and my boy but I will kill him.”

Nick was pissed someone hurt his mate. “Calm down we will find out. I skimmed through some of the stories she was reading and some of them are history and some about our or should I say werewolves currently. Our story is about a year behind. Chris, you have just met Sammy. We will have to contact King Stephan when we get back and make him aware as well as the rest of them.” I told them.

“Alpha this is not good this could lead to huge gaps in our security.” Nick’s tone was cold. He is the perfect Gamma not a pack in the world can match our security or our warrior training. Plus when it came to business we were not friends I was Alpha but hanging out I was Lex. Even though he’s my first cousin and we grew up together we were more like brothers. He was more of a brother to me than my own.

“I’m aware. As soon as we get back Chris and I will get on the phones calling the council and all of the kings.” I tell both of them. It’s not only one king. North America has three not counting the rest of the world King Stephan was the king of all of them. He was the head of the kings.

I saw Nick keep looking at the door of the room Alex went into. He’s 25 that’s 7 years he has been waiting for his mate. I was 22 when I found mine and that seemed like an eternity.

I put my hand on Nick’s shoulder. “ Brother I know it’s hard. But get some sleep we’ll figure everything out and with our security also.”

Nick’s POV

Chris and I were at the motel in town waiting for Lex to come back. He said he wanted to go to the meeting alone. I knew something wasn’t right but he wouldn’t let me go with him. As his Gamma, I should have insisted I go. But as his cousin well more like a brother I knew there was no talking him out of it.

After three hours Chris’s phone rang. “It’s a different number it’s local so maybe it’s Lex.” He answered “Hello.”

“Put it on speaker.” I linked him.

“Is this Chris or Nick.” She asked. The voice of an angel saying my name.” Finn my wolf started prancing.

“Chris, who is this?” Chris asked. She didn’t know which one she was getting but knew our names.

“My name is Alex, I am sending you a pin of our location. Lex told me to call one of you two for help. He’s in bad shape please hurry he needs help that I can’t give him at a cabin in the woods.” She hung up.

Finn started to whimper. I never had time for that now we had to find Lex. We got the pin from the phone it was for a dirt road. Once we went past a small marker in the road the pin moved to a different location on the road. That’s strange I have never seen that before. We kept following it and saw a small cabin with a light on. That’s where the pin was.

We got out of the car Finn was going crazy. “What is wrong with you tonight?” I asked him I was getting annoyed.

“Just go inside human and hurry.” Finn was fighting me for control.

“I’m going to calm down.” I try to push him back.

As I got to the door the smell of vanilla and Amy’s sugar cookies came across my nose. Chris opened the door I saw Lex on the couch wrapped in a blanket. I growled “MINE.” This goddess was for me. Selene must really like me to mate me with her. She was perfect. I will cherish and worship that woman for the rest of my life.

She was frozen in fear before I could go to her Lex link she was human. Well, obviously I have her freaked out. She will understand, and I will do what I have to for her to fall in love with me.

I was zoned out looking at her beauty then I heard her say she had a son. Is she with someone else? I mean she is human she knows nothing of our world.

“Who am I going to have to kill?” Finn growled.

I blocked him out. Then she walked past me grabbed a pipe on the shelf and went outside.

I was right behind her. I could tell she was tense. No one lives in the woods with a small child unless they’re in hiding. I asked was his father still in the picture. With that full-on panic attack, I knew he had done something to her. I would find him and rip his heart from his chest for hurting my mate.

“Nothing is ever going to happen to you, my love. I will protect you and our boy with my life.” I swore to her. She is my everything I would die for her and her I mean our son. I will love that boy as my own he will have a dad he deserves.

She pulled back when I said those words and went inside.

“Good job Dumbass you scared her.” Finn barked.

“Finn she’s hiding something and I think from someone. I can feel her fear.” I tell him. “ I know you have been waiting awhile buddy we’re going to have to take this slow.”

“Whatever my mate needs,” Finn replied.

I went back inside Lex showed us our stories and other packs. History and current. I knew this could leave huge gaps in our security. Lex could see I wasn’t in the right frame of mind we went to get some sleep. Lex told me to take her bed it would help calm Finn down.

I lay in her bed her scent surrounded me it didn’t smell human but I know she was not a wolf.

“Are you two sure she’s human?” I linked the two of them.

“She smells human,” Chris answered.

“I was wondering the same, Nick. I healed way too quickly. But she does smell human.” Lex replied.

“She’s terrified of her child’s father. When I asked I could feel her fear.” I told them.

“We will figure it out, brother. Time for sleep.” Chris said and we cut the link.

Lex, Chris and I always called each other brother. We were closer than brothers. I would give my life for them not just because they were my alpha and beta. But my family.

I hugged the pillow that smelt like her and drifted off to sleep.
