The Gamma and his Story Queen

The morning after

Nick POV.

I woke up and my queen is laying next to me her head on my chest. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. She hasn’t come out and accepted me but I think this is the start. Two days ago I was the big bad gamma now I’m a puppy. I am so in love with this woman already. Bond or no bond she owns my soul. Last night was the best night of my life. It didn’t go as I planned but it was better. She shifted into a beautiful wolf; none like the world has ever seen.

I didn’t want to wake her as I got up out of bed. I slid out slowly not to wake her and kissed her forehead. Goddess, she’s an angel. I pulled my jogging pants on and headed out into the living room kitchen area. I turn on the stove to boil the kettle to make some coffee. She has one of those French presses you put the grounds in and it separates the grounds from the water. I let the boiling water sit in the coffee maker for it to percolate.

I pour up my coffee and sit in the wingback chair looking out the window. I could get used to this life like this. Just the three of us in a quaint little cabin in the woods. My love and my son; I have to look into how to adopt him when we get back to the US. I can’t wait to do all the father-son stuff like camping, fishing and all that other stuff. Alex is a great mom but it’s time for me to be a good mate to her and a great father to Jake.

After my coffee, I need to go do some training. It’s been a couple of days and the gamma can’t be slacking off. I’ll do 5 miles and I’ll get Lex and Chris to spar with me for a bit. I go put on a shirt, socks and sneakers. I look for a pen and paper to let her know but I don’t see any. I should be back from my run before she wakes.

I head outside; I see Lex and Chris on the front deck of the other house. “Are you going for a run? No one wants a soft Alpha and Beta.” I laughed. They may be Alpha and Beta but when it comes to training even the Alpha and Beta listen to their Gamma.

I hear a groan from both of them as they follow behind me. “Can we only do five kilometres we are in Canada?” Chris groans.

“Keep it up Beta and it will be 10 miles.” I chuckled.

“I figured you would be in a good mood today so we would have skipped training.” Lex moaned.

“I am in a perfectly great mood Alpha but it doesn’t mean we skip training.” I grinned.

“So speaking of a great mood are you going to tell us how last night went.” Lex inquired.

“Yes, how did last night go there Nicky?” Chris snickers.

“Don’t call me that. And it is none of your concern how last night went.” I replied I knew it would not end there Chris was worse than the gossiping girls at the hair salon.

“Really we get nothing,” Lex exclaimed.

“It went well is all you need to know,” I growled at both of them. “If you were more worried about your training than my personal life you both wouldn’t be getting soft. Shall I say ten miles?”

“No, no we’re good.” They both say in unison. I shook my head and laughed.

All of a sudden I could feel pain and distress. It wasn’t mine it was Alex’s. I’m not sure what’s going on it feels like heartbreak. All of a sudden I see her ATV going up a trail. I told Lilly to leave that thing tipped over in the woods but she brought it back to her.

“Guys I’ll meet you back at the cabin Anna and Sammy should be here soon,” I tell them and go running after her.

“Finn, did Elle say anything to you? Can you reach her? What’s wrong?” I was frantic.

“I’ll try but you are not going to catch her human.” Finn quips.

He’s right in my human form I may be fast but not fast enough. I don’t care about my clothes Finn takes over and just like that he was gaining on her. He’s like lightning no wolf has ever been able to outrun him but Elle did last night.

“Anything from Elle?” I asked

“No she has me blocked out I can feel her pain it’s breaking my heart.” Finn choked out then cut the link.

We finally catch the ATV and are running alongside of it. When she noticed us she stopped. I could hear her breathe out “Phineas.”

I shift back.” What is it, my love?”

Alex POV

I woke up expecting Nick to be next to me he wasn’t and his side of the bed was cold. I got up his smell was faint and there was nothing there. He was gone. I went to the other house that Lilly magically made appear.

Lilly was there. “ How was your evening?” She asked with a big grin.

“Where is everyone?” I asked.

“I’m not sure I woke this morning and the Alpha and Beta were gone,” Lilly said as she was making her coffee.

“Gone?” The three of them were gone. My heart was breaking. Did he get what he wanted and leave? I mean they didn’t have any stuff with them; what they were wearing Lilly conjured up. “He left.” Tears streamed down my face. “Please watch Jake.” I ran out of the house.

I’m glad Lilly had brought the bike back to the house with the keys left in to the ignition. I jumped on as I drove off I heard Lilly scream. “Don’t do anything rash. You are jumping to conclusions.”

In my head, all I could think was he left. He wanted this, he was the one pursuing this. He brought Jake into this. What do I tell him ‘ I’m sorry mommy wasn’t enough for your new friend.’ I could hear Elle whimper I guess she couldn’t get Phineas either.

“He never rejected us Jenny I would have felt it,” Elle stated.

“No he just left us to pine for him that’s all. I guess I was a conquest.” I cried.

“He told you that you were his first. He was saving himself for you.” Elle chimed in.

“ I know I only had s*x with one person but you’re not that good your first time I don’t care how much porn you watch.” I was crying harder.

It was a good thing I knew the trail because I was crying so hard I couldn’t see. I told him yesterday to leave he had his out then. Why would he do this? Why would he hurt me more? I thought what I went through with Anthony hurt but this was a pain I had never known. I know if this prophecy stuff is true life is going to be hard for a while. After we had s*x did he decide I wasn’t worth it?

I caught a black shadow out of the corner of my eye. Thinking I can’t see through the tears. I take the non-throttle hand and wipe my eyes.

It wasn’t my tear-driven state. “Phineas,” I whispered out and hit my break.

Nick shifted back. “What is it, my love?

I just stared at him for a moment. Did I really overreact? “You didn’t leave.” I choked out.

“What! You thought I left you?” I could see his gut wrench. He took my face in both of his hands. “ I could never leave you.” He kisses me. “ You are my world, my love, my everything. I thought I made myself clear last night. But I guess not clear enough. I love you, Alexia Smith. I am not going anywhere without you by my side.”

I felt so foolish. I keep assuming that all men are like Anthony. He’s not I have to learn to trust him. “I’m sorry, it’s just you weren’t there and I thought.”

Nick cuts me off. “ I know my queen you have been through a lot but I promise you I’m not like him. I will love and cherish you until my dying breath. Please never doubt my love. You looked so peaceful sleeping and I didn’t want to wake you. I looked for a pen to leave a note but I couldn’t find one.”

I laughed. “You may be a wolf but you are a typical man. There is a jar of them on the counter behind the electric kettle.”

I never got to laugh long as soon as I finished my sentence his lips crashed into mine. It was a deep, passionate and possessive kiss. His silver eyes glowed. “Mine.”

I smiled knowing it was Phineas. “Yes, Phineas you are mine well mine and Elle’s. The same as we are yours and Nick’s. Can I please have him back now?”

His normal silver eyes come back. “Sorry, he wanted to show you what you mean to us also.” He kissed me again.

I pulled back. “Since you have no clothes on again I guess I will meet you back home.” I started thinking about clothes for him I know he doesn’t like me driving my bike but if he gets on with me he could see why I like it; to be free with the wind in your hair. All of a sudden a pair of sweatpants and a T-shirt appears. “I guess being a witch has some advantages.” I smiled at him. “Get dressed and get on.”

He climbed on back wrapping his arms around my waist. We drove back to the cabin.

Jake came running out and hugged me. He pulled back and his stern look and sound. “Mommy where is your helmet?

“I’m sorry baby Mommy forgot it,” I told him.

“See did I not ask you the same thing yesterday?” Nick raised his eyebrows at me.

“You are not wearing one either mister.” Jake scowled at him.

“I apologize young man. Won’t happen again.” Nick smiled at Jake.

“I guess no more hog rides for you when we get back then hey Gamma since you don’t own a helmet.” Lex snickers.

“You drive a motorcycle and you give me grief about my quad.” I sneer at him.

“It’s safer.” Nick deadpanned.

“Really! I disagree. Plus you go and ride around without a helmet. I don’t have to worry about cars in the forest.” I snapped at him.

“I only drive on pack grounds without a helmet the speed limit is like thirty. In the forest, you don’t know what kind of terrine you are getting hit a rock the wrong way and you will be airborne.” Nick argued.

“Awe they’re arguing over which death trap is safer.” Chris grins at both of us I glare at him.

Jake pulls out my jacket. “Mommy are you going to work today.”

Shit, I totally forgot about the diner. s**t, John’s going to fire me.

“Mommy is not going back to work for a while at the diner Jake. Mommy and Gammy have to do some different work for a while.” Lilly explains to Jake.

“Maybe Uncle Lex, Uncle Chris and Daddy can do something with me?” I don’t know if that was a question or a statement but when he called Nick Daddy I almost choked.

I went to speak but Nick spoke first and he was beaming. It was like that was the best sound in the world to his ears. He picked him up“ I’m not sure about Uncle Lex and Uncle Chris I can’t speak for them but Daddy would love to spend some time with you today.”

My eyes were welled with tears. He loved my son. He never said no I’m not your dad or you’re not my son; he could have but he didn’t. I couldn’t be more in love with anyone as much as I love him right now.

“Uncle Lex and Uncle Chris would love to hang out with you too.” Lex scruffed his hair. I could see he was emotional also at Jake calling him Uncle. Chris wouldn’t let on but he is very happy to be Uncle Chris.

“There’s a small river a mile away maybe we can go fishing?” Jake asked.

“Mommy doesn’t have any fishing equipment baby. Plus you need more than your rubber boots.” I sighed as I know I was disappointing him.

“Hold on my little one Gammy can fix that.” Lilly waved her arms three large and one small fishing pole was against the house along with rubber gear for all.

Jake runs to Lilly giving her a big hug. “Thank you Gammy.” The boys get ready to leave.

Chris has Jake on his back. Walking down the trail. “You and Uncle Chris are going to be best buddies and we are going to get into all kinds of trouble to drive your Mom and Dad nuts,” Chris smirks at Nick and Lex gives Nick a little smack on the back.

As soon as they were out of sight I started crying happy tears. This was the family Jake deserves. The happiness I have felt in these three days is more than I have felt in my entire life.

Lilly comes over and hugs me. “ You deserve all of this and much more. My child you, your mate and your children are going to have a happy life. We just have to get through the next little bit.”

I knew the shoe had to drop. Obviously, there’s a prophecy that’s never a good thing. What I was going to have to go through a lot more yet and even then there is no guarantee of happily ever after.

“I have contacted a vampire to help us. She doesn’t believe me about who you are. It’s hard for her to swallow. She watched her son die trying to find you.” Lilly informed me.

“My father's mother.” I was shocked.

“Yes.” She replied.

“My grandmother.” Still floored that I have another grandmother.

“Yes, your father was her only son. Her mate was killed when your father was young. Once your father died she blamed your mother as she was gone too. She was too grief-stricken by the loss. To her you were dead and it killed her son. I’m not going to lie I’m not sure how that will go this evening.” Lilly’s face told the story. “Oh by the way your grandmother is the king of the vampires' daughter.”

“So you are telling me my great-grandfather is the Vampire King.” I gasped.

“Yes. He wasn’t happy when your grandmother was mated to a wolf but Katerina didn’t care. She always told me the moment she saw him she was in love and her father wasn’t going to stop her. She was the spare anyway her brother would take the throne so it wasn’t going against anything in her mind. Vampires are not so keen on mixing their DNA with other species. It’s better now because of her she pioneered it. Once the King found out her son had died he came and brought her home. Her brother was killed shortly after; she was helping her father after that for a while her brother had a mate they had a baby before he was killed so she helped raise him to rule when it was his time to ascend to the throne.” Lilly just keeps the bombs coming, doesn’t she? Will my life ever just be normal?

“So my other grandmother hates me already good to know.” I sighed.

“She doesn’t hate you. She hates the situation and the pain it has caused her.” Lilly hugged me. Weirdly, she never was openly affectionate before she told me she was my mother’s mother. She pulls back and I see the water in her eyes. Lilly then reached into her pocket and pulls out a vial of fluorescent green liquid. “We need to get you inside and in bed. This will knock you out for a few hours but you will regain the memories I have blocked.”

“You blocked my memories.” I was angry.

“Yes, I did you couldn’t handle what was going to transpire at the time so in the two and a half years we have been together there are some things you don’t remember but after you drink this you will.” Lilly’s matter-of-fact tone was a little eerie. “I know you and Nick have not marked each other but I wonder if Elle can talk to his wolf?”

“She can,” I answered. “She can also open it up so the four of us can talk.”

“Really.” Lilly was surprised. “I need her to tell his wolf he will feel some pain through the bond as some of the memories there was pain inflicted by certain things and you are going to feel it all now once your memories come flooding back.

“I guess this is going to be fun.” Elle’s sarcastic attitude came ringing through my head.

“Let’s just get it over with Elle link Phineas please.”

“Finny baby are you there?” Elle’s voice was all sweet.

“How come I get piss and vinegar when we talk,” I growled.

“You are not my mate.” She snapped back.

“If you two are done arguing with each other. Yes my goddess I’m here.” Finn came through.

“Phineas can you pull Nick into the link I need to talk to him.” I really just should let Nick mark me so we don’t have to go through this.

“Can you please stop calling him Phineas? Only mother calls him that. He gets all prancy when you call him that.” Elle scoffed.

“Now, now my love she is also my mate and she can call me whatever she likes.” Finn beamed through the link.

“Please refrain from drooling over my woman.” Nick sneered.

“I will remember that the next time you look at Elle and thinks she’s the sexiest wolf you have ever seen,” Finn growled.

“As you said she’s mine too. The four of us are in this together.” Nick laughs. “Anyway, what is it my love are you okay?”

“I’m fine how is Jake?” I asked Nick.

“Please tell me this is not why you wanted to talk to me.” Nick sighed. “He is perfectly fine. I am quite capable of looking after our son.”

“No that’s not why I needed you but I do get to ask how my own child is doing.” I groaned.

“Yes, you do I apologize.” Nick's tone was sad. I could feel his disappointment that I didn’t trust him.

“Nick Lilly is going to give me a potion to get memories back. She wanted me to let you know there will be painful memories and you may feel it too. Not to worry that I’m okay.” I told him what Lilly told me too.

“Well, that’s not going to make me worry any less,” Nick replied.

“I just want you to not rush home Jake was really excited when you said you would spend time with him.” I wanted him and Jake away from here. I didn’t want them hovering over me like I was in a hospital.

“Okay, my love. As long as your safe.” Nick's concern came through the link.

“I will see you two later. Kiss Jake for me.” I tell him.

“What about my kiss?” Nick was pouting.

“You be a good boy and you may get something special a little later,” I said seductively.

I heard low growls from both Phineas and Nick. “I’m going to hold you to that. See you soon my love.” Then he cut the link.

“Okay let’s get this show on the road,” I say to Lilly. We went inside to my bedroom.

I sat on the bed Lilly took the cork out of the vial. “ As soon as you finish it lay down it’s not going to take long to kick in.”

“Over the lips and threw the gums look out stomach cause here it comes” l tipped back the bottle and chugged. It has the same green death flavour as NyQuil. Lilly wasn’t kidding when she said it will knock you out fast.

Within a minute I was out. Memories started to flood back. From the day I met Lilly and we came to this cabin she has been training me. Some of the things I had to go through to learn certain things were very painful I had spared with witches, wizards, demons, faes everything except vampires and werewolves. It was like fighting them all over again. I took some bad shots in the beginning but I got better. John my boss the owner of the diner was there. He’s a fae not only did I get witch training I got fae training. I didn’t know faes can almost change into anything they want. Some live in human form, some animals some as wee fairies they can be anything. It was like a movie of my life playing that I was watching. It goes to up to the day before Lex collapsed on my doorstep. I’m quite good even Lilly and John think so. I hear Lilly tell him I was better than her. The memories stopped and I faded into the darkness of sleep.

By the time I woke up I was restricted by two large arms. “ Did you sleep well, my love?” Nick’s low gravelly voice spoke softly in my ear.

“Well after the whole reliving getting my ass kicked yes I slept okay.” I rolled into him to snuggle with him.

“I know I could feel you getting hurt over and over. Finn was going insane even though he knew what was going on.” Nick held me.

“I hope you weren’t in too much distress.” I snuggled in as close as I could.

“It scared me. My beautiful mate going through that.” I noticed Nick’s voice had changed.

I pulled back a little and saw the silver glowing. “Don’t worry my sweet and loveable Phineas I am fine.” I smiled at him; giving him a peck on the lips. But Phineas was not having that he wrapped his arms around me with a deeply possessive kiss.

“You two are okay that is all that matters.” Phineas smiled and let Nick back.

“I'm going to kick his ass he keeps taking over like that.” Nick grinned. “Now I was promised something special.”

“You were.” I chuckled. He leaned down and his lips lock on to me it was like how you kiss someone when you haven’t seen them for a few days that kiss of oh baby I love you and I’m going to take you right here and now. I pulled back “The something special is for later.” I smirked. I felt Elle push me back and take over. She pulls my lips to Nick’s again it was like she needed that like you need oxygen. She was claiming her mate.

Nick pulled back and saw the eyes of all colours. “ Yes, my sexy pup I am yours too.” He chuckled.

“Don’t you forget it? You hurt us it will be the last thing you do.” Elle growled.

“I will never hurt you. You both are my Queen.” Nick rubbed my face and Elle let me back into control.

“I guess both of our wolves are showing their dominance today.” I laugh and give him a light kiss. I pulled back so our lips are almost touching and whispered. “Later I will show you how possessive I can be of my mate.” I hear the low sexy I want you now growl coming from his chest.

“You’re a tease you know.” He grunted. “Anyway, there are two people here I would like you to meet.” He smiled.
