Nights in the Shadows

The leaves crunched under her paws as she ran. "Where are you going, Daisy?" A voice came from behind her, motivating her to start sprinting as fast as her legs could handle it. I can't let her catch me! Daisy thought she was panicking. Who knows what will happen if she does? She looked behind her to see if she had finally gotten away. Without watching where she's going, she runs straight into a tree and throws up leaves in the process. Daisy tries to force herself to stand, causing her leg to throb in pain. She bites her tongue to keep herself from screaming as she looks around to see if she can see who is chasing her. "Are you looking for me?" A she-wolf walked out of the shadows with a wide grin on her face. "V-Violet." Daisy slowly moves away, her eyes wide with fear. Violet took a few steps forward, and her grin turned into a snarl. "You don't need to do this, Violet." Daisy started to cry, trying to escape but continuously stumbling. "You're right; I don't." Violet paused to watch Daisy. "But you look like adorable prey." She began to laugh and stepped on Daisy's injured leg, causing her to scream. "I thought we were friends, Violet!" Daisy winced, staring in horror at Violet's smile and her eyes, which glowed with amusement. "I just love when my prey begs for their lives." Violet bared her teeth and went for Daisy's neck.
