Chapter Three Idris held Darlene’s hand as they waited for Officer Walsh. She looked pale, and her hand was clammy. “Hey,” Idris said. “It’s going to be okay.” Darlene grunted in response, her gaze fixed on the door where Walsh would enter. They were back in the room Darlene had been put in for questioning last time. Idris accompanied her. Walsh would want to question her alone, but he wasn’t going to allow it.
