“No, I can’t come over, Darlene. You know that,” Idris said into his phone, watching with dread as the sun set. “Full moon tonight. I have to get out of Dodge. Everything is...different on a full moon. Harder to control. You should stay inside the apartment, too. Rebecca can’t get in there.”
“Okay,” Darlene agreed reluctantly. “But I’ll be worried. What do you mean things are different on a full moon? How is it harder to control?”
“Most of the packs run in groups. They watch out for each other through the night and run in the woods. Lucian and I used to run together.”
