IMPERSONATION

"What?" He turned and looked at her.   "Nothing, just kidding."   "I'm going to your study room."   "Alright, it's opened," she replied with a glint in her eyes. Were this people really very stupid? Or they weren't smart enough to control a genius. ***   "On the 20th of August, XXXX the DESHINA2 crew had found something amazing from the world outside Earth. They're also making great efforts to see we can all travel to Mars."   News had flown everywhere; on radios, on televisions, on newspapers and on social media.   The DESHINA2 crew had found a type of dry ice that could melt directly into liquid. And everyone began to believe more and more that aliens existed in a world beyond theirs. *** WAJUN HEADQUARTERS   "So aliens do exist? And you expect me to believe that bullsh!t?"   "Sir, this finding proves so. No human on Earth, not even the fathers and prodigies of science could do so. People say that this proves that the equilibrium in the scientific balance had been disrupted."   "So you're trying to tell me those 'foreign species' are more intelligent than us now that they could disrupt the equilibrium?"   "This one does not mean it that way Sir but, although it's only one finding, it is greater than a millions of findings."   "Got it. I would pretend to believe this farce of 'aliens' and their meritorious works. Prepare," he ordered. We the WAJUN crew only go to Mars to find out more about it yet the DESHINA's are going there to get alien works. What an impressive attack on me.   "Yes Sir," the man saluted and left. *** FLASHBACK   Blue blood drenched the whole town as the environment was eerily quiet. The beautiful ink like coloured blood painted the surface of red soil, leaving a unique, long lasting, sorrowful and royal glow.   A little Martian crawled out from underneath a dead body. Her face and wrong body was bathed in blue blood as tears threatened to spill out. She looked at her hands and noticed it was bleeding. But not blue, purple. She was bleeding PURPLE coloured blood. She smiled and cried at the same time, she had known this and it was a family secret they all swore to take to their graves. And they had indeed taken it to their graves.   Her family were the main reasons why the government sent killers here. They had found out her father was a foreigner from a parallel space who had a special token. Her father gave her the token before their arrival and said that the future of their family is in her hands. And the burden was placed on her shoulder.   She mourned them for days before packing her things and going away. There was nothing else she could do. While in hiding, she could see as their bodies were packed together for the last rituals. She turned back and silently cried again, she promised herself she would get revenge for them. She surely would.   "Little girl, what are you doing here?" She instinctively brought out a knife and threw it out but the person counterattacked, throwing her backwards.   "What will a little girl be doing here at this unholy hour. Or do you want something...?"   She didn't reply him but simply attacked again. Although she knew this was rash, she couldn't take any chances of the government finding out about her. Sooner or later, they would know she is missing. So she needed to get another identity before then. And she couldn't risk a random person selling her out.   By now, the person had stopped talking and trying to provoke her, but they had exchanged up to ten different blows within this short period of time.   She looked at his gut and tried to aim there which he blocked immediately but then she switched her target to his shoulders as she kicked him. He fell heavily backwards as she took a good look at him. He looked young, like thirty but she could tell he was in his fifties. After all, that's how they all are.   "What technique did you use smartass? You should be grateful I haven't fought for a long time which was why I lost, hmph."   "Indeed, someone who doesn't even know the technique. Just admit it if you lose," she clicked her tongue sarcastically.   "What amount of rudeness. Heh, how were you tried girl?"   "What amount of shamelessness. For an old man like you to be asking a child like me if I want something...."   "Hey am not old and secondly, age doesn't matter. I've seen a twelve year old girl...."   "You don't need to tell me what you've seen and what you have not. I would 'pretend' to 'believe' that this 'meeting' is 'fated'. Goodbye now and forever," she interrupted and disappeared.   "You would have to believe it anyways. Hehe, what an interesting and feisty one. Surely to help me," he smirked in delight.   And yet, she met him again, multiple times. With him pretending it was always a 'coincidence' even when they both knew it was not. And slowly, they began partners and he began her dear grandpa. A buddy, the one next to her dead parents.   So when a certain person reacted a lot to the festival of 'Marsigras' mentioned, it showed the first suspicion. When he asked to go out, when had her grandpa ever want to socialize on the night of the festival? He hated the government as much as she hated it that he didn't want to socialize with anyone. Their house was even located in an environment with scarce population. And then to her study room? No matter how much leniency she had for the three of them in that house, they never entered. She could only give them information or call them in on special occasions. Yet, he was casually asking it like it was normal.   Currently, a knife was to his throat, "Where is my grandpa?"   "Truly smart indeed. They really told me, yet I underestimated your ability to act. You can kill me after all, I'd still have to kill myself to thus failed mission," he seethed in hatred and anger.   "Oh, I can kill you? Then I'd do it the way I like it. Nanny, get me a drum of pure salt," she called out.   "Yes madam," the lady replied almost immediately with a chuckle as the man had his mouth agape in horror. In a few seconds, a drum of salt was placed in front of them, "Now do you want to speak, or you would prefer this, grandpa's brother?"   The man's face turned paler, how else was he able to impersonate him if they're not from the same parents?
