Wedding Preparations

Meera's POV   By the article on the newspaper, I have seen after the day of the charity function, one thing was confirmed, everyone took Sana and Aarsh way better than we expected. Reporters, fellow business men, and influential people were in awe when they looked at the new couple in the town, the netizens made them trending topic within a few minutes after Sana revealed herself. Yes, its true she is a charmer, just one look and people are impressed by her. She has that thing within her which can make you whipped. the wheatish skin colour, the silky waist-long hair, that excellent body figure, she is just a treat to the eyes.    Most of the people labelled them as the next power couple, they looked so much in love with each other. They did a small interview at the event, revealing a little bits and pieces of their relationship. One thing which made a great havoc was the information that they shared was the relationship being more than 6 years, hardly any one believed that. Everyone expected them to be in new love, no one expected them to be lovers for almost half a decade. All in all everybody took their couple image in a positive way, glad that our little plan was so effective.   Its been a few weeks after the charity event now, everything is going well. Sana accompanies Aarsh almost everywhere. At first, no one really liked this arrangement except Sana, but soon they got accustomed to it. Well what else can they do? Sometimes Aarsh begged me to go with him, but I just couldn't bring myself going out with him anymore. I know how little Aarsh enjoyed these events all together, but having Sana is just a bit more worse. She doesn't have the knowledge what goes on these events, behaves like those snobbish high class ladies. She pretends to be a complete different person in those events. I don't know where she has learnt all these, she tries to put up a good image as future Mrs. Sharma, but that effort just irks our Mr. Sharma.    Aarsh requested me once or twice to talk to Sana and put a stop at these shits. Honestly, I tried, but she just won't listen to me. She uses her one dialogue to shut me up, "I know what am doing, don't try to teach me how to behave in these events. Remember, I am the future Mrs. Aarsh Sharma, not you." And after that I just decide to keep my advices to myself. I know she is my friend, but that relation hardly bothers her to listen to me. Although I just couldn't say anything about it to Aarsh, I just couldn't bring it to myself, I decided I would say no to Aarsh directly, or somehow avoid giving his Mrs a grooming class.    After one week of the charity function, both of their parents announced the day of their wedding. It was supposedly fixed on the mid of may, exactly 15th to be precise. Sana wanted a cocktail party apart from the Mehendi (a ceremony where the bride applies henna on her hand) day to have a blast with everyone of our age. I think that's for the better. We young people needed a day to ourselves to enjoy and we just got one because of her. Aarsh was indifferent to all these, but seeing our enthusiasm he just went with the flow. Both the families have decided to start prepping up for the marriage slowly and steadily to avoid the last moment rush. Our bride to be wants everything to be perfect for her perfect day. And honestly nobody complained for that.   We are all currently sitting in Aarsh's house. We, as in all of their common friends, me and Shagun. Well we need to decide soon who will be in which side. In India it matters a lot. Sana wanted everyone to be from her side, but the boys wanted to be with Aarsh, pretty much understandable. Although it was Aarsh's idea to utilize his house once in a while for these kind of purposes, but the house owner himself can't be found anywhere. I searched for a bit inside the house, unable to find him there, I went to the garden. "Hey dude, what the hell are you doing here? Everyone is being crazy in the house. I think after a while Lalita Didi will just throw all of us out." I said jokingly. Aarsh, on the other hand looked zoned out. "Aarsh, what happened? Is everything alright?" "You tell me, are you enjoying it? All of you? This was everyone's idea right? Then why are you asking me?" "Aarsh, why do you always go back to the same point, why just you can't move forward?" "Well, I want to. But everytime I want to give our relation a chance, she spoils it just with a snap. Everytime she is like 'I want this', 'I want that'. Does she know what I want? Do you or any of you know what I want? No. You people never wanted to know. Just go in and leave me alone a bit. I will come inside later."   I knew why this is happening, from where it is coming. But this time I just didn't try to do anything that might calm him down. Instead I want someone else to take up this job now. Enough of me being the one to give him peace, to calm him down, to face his wrath. This is Sana's job. If she doesn't care for her husband why would I, who am I to him. Its not my job everytime to get his scoldings and then saying sweet soothing nothings for his heart. I have taken that s**t enough. Now I leave that part. Not thinking anything else, I left him with his own pool of thoughts beside the pool itself and made my way back to everyone.    I entered the living room and all of a sudden Maithili pounced upon me. "Meera, you will come from Aarsh's side or Sana's side?" "I don't know." "Of course she will come from my side, we first became friends, then she got to know Aarsh. So, she will be coming from my side. End of discussion," Sana said in assertion. Wow, for the first time in my 25 years of life, I was in demand. Like seriously! Someone was demanding my presence, and that too Sana! I will be more than happy to come from her side. Moreover, the more time I will stay close to Aarsh, the more torturous will be the wedding for me. I don't want that at all. "So for cocktail party we will all wear something Indo-western, for mehndi we will wear not too heavy yet gorgeous cloths. For wedding, the best of the wardrobes but complete Indian attire and for my reception lets go western. What say?" Sana asked excitedly. This girl is indeed so excited to get married God!   "Of course baby, what ever you want. My wife will get what ever she wants. Cloths, jewelleries what ever you want I will buy you that. I will go every where with you, if I can't then Meera will take you shopping ok?" "Really Aarsh?" "Of course baby. Meera, come here." I went and stood infront of him with a straight face. "Here, take it, its a platinum debit card, unlimited. Use as much as you want. Just don't hesitate. Buy her whatever she likes ok?" Aarsh, I don't think its a job that I was hired for, I can't do this. I am sorry." I was not at all happy with this arrangement. Firstly, I hate shopping. Secondly, if Aarsh sends me with Sana she will treat me like her chauffer. I will have to carry her bags, follow her from here and there. Sana often forgets that the other person is also human. Maybe Aarsh is giving me this job for a good reason, but I just can't do this.   "Meera, Aarsh is not ordering you yaar, he is requesting you. Come on it will be fun. Plus we all know your dressing sense is not too good. At least think about this. When you will buy dresses for the events, you can buy it with us, we can suggest you, tell you what suits you and what doesn't. Plus, you also get to spend some time with us. And you will be shopping instead of working on your desk and still no one can cut your salary. Come on Meera, its a once in a life time opportunity. Don't miss it silly." God why do I always have to face this! Why can't I just say no to Sana? She will be at peace and so would I. Our tastes hardly matches. Plus my sharp tongue, its just so hard to keep quiet. Won't I be making a joke of myself infront of others? I don't wanna do this. I don't get paid enough for this.   The moment I opened my mouth to say something against it, Shagun beat me. "Sana, you shouldn't talk this way to Meera." "Sorry, what?" Sana asked in confusion. "I said, its completely wrong of you to comment that way about Meera's cloths. Have you ever seen her wardrobe? Well, I don't think you have, cause if you had, you wouldn't dare to say anything against it. She doesn't put on good cloths, get dress up and decked up every time we meet is simply because she considers us her family and doesn't want to put up a fashion show unlike many of us. She wears casuals because of her comfort. You have no right to comment on her cloths." "Shagun, please, its alright," I cut her. "No Meera, it isn't alright. And Aarsh she is your PA, but that doesn't mean you will let anyone treat her like trash. No wonder earlier PAs couldn't stay for long!" What has happened to Shagun! Why is she breathing out fire? "Shagun, stop, she didn't mean that way. And Aarsh, please find someone else to take her shopping. She must have fun but might not have with me. I think Maithili is the one best one suited for this. She knows her style, her wish and every other thing. Don't limit or force her in taking me only."   "Meera, you don't want to come with us because of what I said to you about your cloths? Listen am sorry, I didn't mean it." "Sana its alright. I will come if everyone goes shopping together. At least we girls. I wanna too join you all but as a friend not as your husband's PA." "Well obviously you will come as our friend and not anyone's employee," Varsha stepped in now. Everyone nodded in unison. "Hey hey hey, I never said you to behave as my PA," Aarsh said trying to cool down the uprising feud. "Well, you ordered her that way only," Shagun defended me. Ok now things are turning bitter. "Ok ok, I misinterpreted. Now all of you calm down. We all will go shopping together, done?" "Yeah" everyone shouted. They were all so happy. Sana came and hugged me and mouthed me a thank you. I just gave her an acknowledging smile. When everyone calmed down from their excitement, Aarsh handed me his credit card once more. I refused but he said that he is giving me cause I will meet him everyday. Its not possible to ask Sana or Maithili to come to his house or office just to deliver the card. I thought for a while and took the card willingly this time. Sana's POV   Everything was going as per my plan. Aarsh agreed to marry me. Although I wasn't quite happy for the date to fall almost after 5-6 months, but I didn't complain anymore. After Deepak came back, I just got a good enough reason to make Aarsh marry me. And that drowning incident just worked as an icing on the cake. It helped me to convince both mine and his parents to agree to this marriage. Today, when Aarsh gave his platinum card to Meera, I was quite pissed. Why the hell will she get the card? Am getting married to him, not her! Then why does she enjoy everything which is mine? I never liked attending those boring, worthless business events or charity functions. But just to keep Meera away from Aarsh, I took things in my hands.    Everyone is thankful to Meera cause she saved Aarsh from drowning. But one thing that nobody saw was the fear in Meera's eyes before she jumped into the pool to save Aarsh. Someone has made a video while they were in the party. The way Meera jumped into the pool was something different. It was as if she was scared to lose something precious, something worth living and dying for. That is not an emotion that you share with just any of your friends, it was something way different. I have seen that thing earlier also, 4 years back when Meera saved Aarsh from drowning into the river in his hometown. And worst part was Aarsh's look on his face. He looked at her as if she is the only thing in the world he wants to look at.    Everytime they are together, they have something that no one else could see. Its like the air changes around them. They are different with each other. They behave like they have immense love for each other but just can't stay with each other. I have to stop that. Deepak was snatched away from me, I can't let the same thing happen to me  this time with Aarsh. I need to keep him by myself only. I will go mad if anyone tries to snatch him away from me. I will destroy that person. Even if its Meera. I just don't care. Aarsh is mine. Mine to have, mine to be with.
