Aarsh's POV
After the long, cold shower, I came out of the washroom drying my hair. For the one last time, I went to Meera, gave a light peck on her lips and said to her sleeping figure, "Soon I will make you mine. Don't you worry for anything. I will fix everything. Just give me a little time. Then we will be together. Forever. I promise." And with one last kiss on her forehead, I left the room to find some answers. I straight away went to Rajat bhai. "Bhai, I need some answers." "Finally. But before that, tell me, is she ok?" "Yes, indeed she is. Her temperature is back to normal, her breathing is stable, she doesn't look pale anymore." "Well, that's a relief then. Now tell me what do you want to know?"
After telling him everything that happened back in the room, minus the intimate part, obviously, I finally asked him, "Does that mean she is my destined one?" "Why do you sound so unsure? Don't you like the fact that she is your destined one?" "What do you mean?" "I mean don't you like it after knowing who is your destined one? We thought you would be happy to see that your destined one is someone who you already know. So am asking you again, are you not happy with the fact that Meera is your destined one?" He asked slowly. "What? You all knew? Wait! Who all knew? Why didn't I know? That means she is indeed my destined one?" I was stunned, everyone knew except me? What the f**k? And why did nobody inform me? I was the one who is supposed to know first about it. But I was the one who finally came to know at last. That is so not done.
"Well, it seems I have to tell you the whole story now, considering the fact you yourself came to know that Meera is the one. And before you ask anything, just listen to me once and for all. And please one request. DO. NOT. INTERRUPT. ME.
4 Years Back
Rajat's POV
"So Rajat, how many weeks the temple needs to be restored?" Guruji asked me. After that 'Meera made' disaster, it was hard to explain everything to the people round here. Thank god there was not much destruction, yes, apart from the ruining of the temple and killing of a guard, it hardly counts. If she wasn't Aarsh's friend and if Guruji personally didn't request us, we would have killed that dangerous little witch. What is she? A murderous machine? A destroyer? Well she is both. "Guruji, the temple will need 2 more weeks to be completely restored. But the main problem is not the restoration of the temple, its the family of the deceased guard. Guruji, what are we going to tell them? One day they will come to us, wanting to know how he died. What will we say to them? A freaking witch came here, destroying everything possible? Is this we are going to say?" I asked with full agitation.
People may ask how the hell I can talk to an elderly person like that. But to be honest, Guruji is like our father or even more than our fathers can ever be. The same way a child gets angry with his parents, we behaved with Guruji the same way when we didn't like his decisions. But just like a obedient child, even though we don't like it, we still follow it up. "Rajat, you are way better than that. We can't say these to anyone. We don't have a choice." "Why don't you do something?" "Do something like what? What is in your mind?" "Well for the beginning, lets catch her." "Ok, then what? Cage her? Rajat she is a human, not a bird you can pet on. If we go to catch her, we will be killed. Try to understand my son." "Just in the fear of getting killed, we can't let her be free and kill anyone. Guruji, SHE. IS. DANGEROUS." "What do you think, I don't know? We have to find some other way to stop her. She is Aarsh's friend right? Call him and ask him to come here within few days. If he has exams, ask him to finish it and then come here. Till then, I suggest you send some guards for the girl. If she again displays her powers, everyone will get to know that Earth still has some super natural powers in forms of humans. So to save Aarsh and people like both Aarsh and Meera, I suggest you send her some guards. And make it quick."
Yes, its true, if people really comes to know that there are humans that have some kind of powers, they will want to exploit it, will destroy it and we, the saviors, have to save it, even if we hate her. Soon after that little encounter we got busy with our work. Most of us were still trying to find those pieces which remained intact or almost intact due to the disaster, when we heard a commotion near the gate. I was near to the gate compared to other fellows so I quickly went there to check what's going on. From a distance it felt as if a lady was creating some kind of chaos. And I am so correct. But what is she doing here? After turning the place almost into dust, she dared to come here again? Wow! Hats off to her bravery. "What are you doing here, Meera?" I asked her, seeking her attention from the quarrel she was almost winning. "See he knows me." She told to the guards as if proving something. "Well, everyone knows you here. And why won't they not know you? You see the place you have turned it into. Well after this almost every body knows you, and may be that's why they are stopping you" "Listen, I have not come here to joke. I want to talk to Gu... Guruji. Urgently." "What is it? Tell me, I will deliver the message," I stated. "No please, I will talk with him. Just 5 minutes I beg you." And she started sobbing. I hate when girls use that card to get whatever the want. Such annoying creatures.
But looking at her, something was strange about her. The way she cried, they way she begged me to meet Guruji personally was way different than just acting. I really felt that she needs help. Therefore, although I hated her for what ever she did, I agreed to take her to Guruji. "Ok, ok. Stop crying. Come on in. I will take you to him. He is in his office." She nodded, wiped away her tears and started following me like an obedient child. After the long silent walk, we reached the office. I gave a light knock, and within seconds a 'come in' came from the office. We entered, and went straight to the other side of the desk from Guruji. "Guruji, Meera came a few minutes ago. She wants to meet with you." I looked at her, gestured her to take it from me. "Guruji am really sorry for whatever happened that day. I... I actually got scared the way you started interrogating me. And then I couldn't control myself. I destroyed the temple, killed one of your guards, tried to attack you and what not. But please I need your help."
All this while, Guruji listened to her calmly. He was listening to it as if he was quite pleased with whatever Meera was saying. After Meera completely finished, he sat up straight, leaned towards the table and stated with a low voice, "Meera what's done is done. What you did was punishable. but am going to leave you because you do not know anything or you hardly know anything about your power. You have never been trained like Aarsh or any other of my disciples in that matter. But I warn you child, try to use your powers properly. If you don't, then people will know about it and would want to exploit it. And I hope being a girl you understand the danger that prevails in the society right now. I am not trying to scare you off. Its just that I am trying to warn you. If you can use your powers properly use it, but try not to get exposed. If you want to learn anything, know anything, we will help you totally. Just come to us. You know the place, know the people who can help you. So now relax and forget whatever happened in the past. You are a grown up, smart and matured girl, I know you will be able to do it. And now, you said you need help. What help can we do?"
Meera became quite, rather to say became nervous all of a sudden, looked down and fidgeted her hands. It felt like it was difficult for her to say what she came to say. Strange. Guruji, maybe understanding the situation, got up from his chair, came to Meera's side, sat on the chair beside her and said, "Meera, my child, if you don't say what is the problem then how can we help you? Come on child, say it now. Whatever it is, we will help you just like we help each other." A low sob escaped from her mouth. I felt guilty some where, thinking that she was nothing but a dangerous creature. But on the contrary, she seemed helpless, innocent and above all, scared to death. She looked at me and said, "I want to speak to you alone, Guruji." And that, ladies and gentlemen, hurt as hell. I was standing there to protect Guruji and not to eavesdrop her little gossips. I was about to turn and leave, when Guruji said, "Meera am getting old. I don't know how long I can help you. So its better if someone stays here with you to solve your problem, someone rather younger than me. And Rajat here," Looking at me, he continued, "knows everything about you and your powers. Am sure he will be able to solve your problems, besides myself." That was one of the proudest moment in my life. "I promise whatever happens inside these walls today will not go out." I said looking to no one in particular. "Now Meera, my child, speak up what's going on your tiny mind." Guruji said gently.
"Guruji, I think... I think am Aarsh's destined one." Time stopped when these words fell from her tiny mouth. No, this can't be true. How is it even possible? Moreover, how the hell she is so sure about it? Did Aarsh know it too? If he did, why didn't he inform us? Wait, is this even true, or is it just her notion or a bluff? I looked at the old man, and he seems relaxed or somewhat like contained with what he heard, as if he speculated or wanted it to happen. So strange. But he quickly hides that emotion and with a straight face he asked her, "How do you say that? Did anything happened that made you believe this?" 'Please say no.' I screamed in my head. "Yes something has happened, and its not just a belief, but rather a proof." "Proof? How so?" "Did you remember that last week, while I running, I twisted my ankle and got hurt badly, so bad that I couldn't stand properly?" Guruji nodded. "Well after you saw my condition, you asked Aarsh to pick me up and take me to your bedroom?" "Well, yes I remembered everything?" "Well, after I woke up, I saw him at the end of the bed. He asked me where is it paining, I showed him and then he took my injured leg and brushed his hands on my affected area. And it healed that instant. He kept on rubbing it thinking that it will sooth the pain but it actually healed with just one stroke."
We all were silent. For me, it was too much to take up the whole information. If whatever she is saying is the truth, then she is definitely Aarsh's destined one. Only she can be healed by him besides healing himself. No one else can be healed. No one. "I know you don't trust me, you have enough reason to, but whatever am saying its true." "But when you were going out from here, we saw you limping," I said remembering that day's events. Yes, its true she was limping. If she was already healed, then why would she limp. "Because I wasn't sure what to do with this piece of information. Whatever Aarsh did, he didn't do it knowingly, he was just rubbing my leg to soothe the pain. I became scared and that's why I decided to act as if it hurt my leg while walking and so I limped." "So, have you told this to Aarsh?" That was a direct question from Guruji. "No. I haven't told this to him." "Then you should inform him, don't you think?" "That is why I came here. I have a request to make."
It seemed very strange to me that Meera haven't said this to Aarsh yet, although she is his friend, a friend whom he decided to trust with his secrets. And here, she came all the way from the city to inform her relation with Aarsh to us without informing Aarsh. Wow. Am speechless, honestly. "Tell me, what is that you want as your request?" Guruji asked her making me stop my inner battles. "I don't want Aarsh to know that I'm his destined me." "That's outrageous. You can't do that to him," I interrupted her non sense, and then I looked and guruji and continued, "We can't do that to him. He is like your son, he is like my younger brother. We can't betray him like this, we shouldn't betray him like this. You know since he got the powers along with the information that he can only heal his destined one besides himself, he is eager to find her. Last week, when he came here with a broken heart, that he couldn't heal Sana, I saw the desperation in his eyes to find his true one. And you, after knowing everything, how can you make such a request to us? We know we are not his real family, but we have treated each other like real family. You have no right to ask us to hide such a big news about him from him."
This girl is mad, totally, completely. And I highly doubt whether she can be ever cured. Doesn't she understand what she is asking? I mean its very wrong of us to do something like this to our boy. I know how desperate he is to find his mate, the one who is only born for him. And here that girl is trying to hide herself. Why god, why? "Rajat, stop making her the villain. Hear her completely for once. For me. Please." What can I say after this? I just nodded and mentally made a note not to burst out anymore. "Why do you want to keep it a secret, Meera? Don't you like Aarsh? Not even as a person?" She frantically nodded her head and said, "Its not the reason." "Then what is the harsh reason for which you are hiding yourself from the one who is only meant for you? Meera, you can't love any one the way you are supposed to love Aarsh. Not only love, you can't feel for anyone else like the way you will feel for Aarsh. Meera, Aarsh will do anything to find you." "That is what I don't want Guruji." "Why?" "Because he has some one whose hands he can't leave. And if he leaves her hands, she will die. And I promise, I won't let her die."
Its true, Aarsh's girlfriend, Sana, loved him whole heartedly. Whatever I have heard from him, it was clear that they love each other more than anything. But if Aarsh leaves her, Sana will die? Why? "What do you mean by that? Please tell us clearly." "If Aarsh leaves Sana after knowing that am his destined one then Sana will commit suicide out of grief. She has already attempted suicide twice when her last boyfriend left her because of one of our friend. She was completely broken. I know Aarsh believed that Sana was his destined one. But that was proved wrong, once when he tried to heal her. I know Aarsh was broken to know that. But still he didn't leave her because he doesn't know who is actually his destined one. And by the way you are telling how strong these bonds are, how desperate he is to find his destined one, am pretty sure he will leave her once he comes to know about his destined one. And am pretty sure, that after knowing that Aarsh left her because of me, again one of her friend, Sana will attempt suicide again. And I don't know if this time also she will fail. I don't want to risk anyone's life, ever, and especially my friends'. Am ready to live a celibate's life than putting my friend's life in danger. If keeping Aarsh away from me means keeping Sana alive, then I will always stay away from him no matter what."
By the end of her speech, she looked like a broken mess. What ever hatred I had for her is now long gone. I sympathize her. I am jealous of all her friends who has got a friend like her. I am sad for my brother, but he has to understand what kind of a gem she is. She is just like us - sacrificing everything for the well being of others. Am proud that Aarsh got a destined one like her. "Meera, I appreciate your concern, your sacrifice for your friend. But in this way, you will be in danger. You got a very strong power, a power that can hurt you even, and if at that time Aarsh is not with you, then who will heal you? I know medical science is quite advanced now a days, but if you get hurt because of your powers, then only Aarsh's power can heal you. No doctor, no medicines will be able to cure you. Not only that, Aarsh's life is entwined with your life too. There might come some incidents, when he will need you more than he needs himself. Meera, child, please don't put yourself and Aarsh in danger. Please."
"I will never put him in danger. Whenever he will need me, I will be there. I am just requesting you not to disclose the fact that am his destined one. Am just denying my relation with him, not my responsibilities. And even if I need him, I won't call him. And I will never blame him for anything. Just make sure, he never leaves Sana. Please its a request. In return, I promise I will be here whenever Aarsh will be in danger. Please Guruji, please. This is the only way to save Aarsh and Sana both." She was begging in front of Guruji, folding her hands. I, unable to bare the scene any longer, decided to speak up, "I promise you Meera, we will never tell anything about you being his destined one to Aarsh. I, personally, thank you to decide such a huge thing for the sake of Aarsh and Sana. I really respect you. I really hope Guruji also thinks in this way too." We looked at Guruji for him to speak up. He sat there, closing his eyes, thinking about something.
It almost felt like an eternity when he opened his eyes and said, "Meera, I also promise you that I will keep your request and never tell Aarsh that you are his destined one. But Meera, if he ever finds out who you are to him, what your relation is with him, he will always come finding you. No matter what, he will burn the world, do any thing and everything possible you can imagine just to be with you. No one will be able to keep him away from you, neither me, nor Goddess Kali, and not even you. If you want to try, you can try but when he will burn and destroy the world to find you out, be prepared to take the blame, cause no one else will. Be prepared Meera, be prepared. I really hope that this decision of yours doesn't effect him much. Because only god knows what reaction he will have when he will find it out himself. I don't know what he will do. just be prepared."
Present Day
"And with that we decided to keep things from you. Please think it properly before doing anything. Think from Meera's perspective, why she did it, what she went through to do it. Think about it. Don't be selfish. Think about Sana too. Think what will happen to her after you take any kind of action. Just think it through, brother. I promise you, the way I supported Meera, I will also support you; the condition is, no one gets hurt by any kind of your action." He was thinking hard. He sat down to the nearest sofa. For 5 minutes, he kept mum. Complete silence. It started feeling creepy. Then he looked at me and said, "Don't worry, I won't hurt anyone. But I will also not leave my destined one. Don't worry bhai, everything will be alright." He said putting his hand on my shoulder. I calmed down, almost. But with in seconds, his evil smirk sent a shiver down my spine. With the smirk still on, he said, "No matter what, I will make Meera mine. I promise you." And I knew he will keep his damn promise. Possessiveness was dripping from his eyes, voice, creepy smirk and his entire attitude. 'Meera, my sister, get ready to be Aarsh's, completely.' I wanted to warn her.
