CHAPTER 1:-  Modern Society had come to an end. It a time where the world was already damaged by pollution, and wars and crimes; the Nations had amassed together a group of Scientists who excelled in the study and creation of a hybrid between an animal bonded with a human to create The Perfect Being. But as the old saying goes “Rome was not built in a day” had surely happened with these fellow men and women. At this moment the world has gone twenty three years forward after the creation of those Zombie Animals, as it has been named by the people all around the world. Even after all these times, humans have survived the greatest wars and crimes; but have always fought it among their own kind and never with any other species of any kind. But as the nations thought creating the Perfect One could give them the kinder, sweeter, happier perks of being an animal; but no they got the far worse side. The darker, non -merciful, sadistic side of being an animal. The test subjects got the wings and claws and sight and hearing abilities but were turned to animals and slaughtered.  This had continued till Subject 13 came in place; he had somehow bonded with the genetic structure of a bat, he was hearing things that were 5 kilometers away and had got retractable claws and sight he slowly started to develop the wings; but the beginning of the agonizing pain and misery and the end of times was about to start. His genetic structure had matched with that of the bat; but not for long…   The Ground Below was built by hundreds of survivors who wanted to live in a safe haven without any threats of the outside world. Many architects and masons amassed and dug huge holes and destroyed the subways which were no longer being used. They then made an even bigger hole which led underground of the subway. This took a full year of hard work with eighteen hours of work each day except for Sunday. After the hard work and toil of the masons and architects, it was finally complete. The Ground Below was born. It contained four exits, each of them leading in the cardinal directions. There were thousands of houses, and shops created for supplies and rations, and each of the exits had two military families in front of it to open the cover and let the sunlight in. In the middle of the tunnel was a hole from which rainwater would pour if it ever rained and there was one subway tunnel which had an exit on the ceiling. Every week someone would go out to get supplies and weapons. The Ground Below was a safe haven and was a place where any human could come and live in harmony, well not every human.  “RATIONS! TAKE YOUR RATIONS! FOOD AND GEAR AND AMMO! “cried out Lazlo. Now, he is a pretty strong guy, who would go above ground and bring the people supplies. He was the one of the main architects who designed the Ground Below. He was born twenty year before the pandemic. His parents raised him pretty well, he got all the stuff that a baby could get; but suddenly as they were on their way back from the hospital and reached their home, they were attacked and killed by a serial killer. Since then, he could never recover from their deaths. He was taken in by a family, but ran off from them at the age of six; never to be seen by them ever again. He taught himself the art of holding a weapon, shooting and crafting items when deemed necessary. As most orphans would be the most unstable and mentally ruthless people; Lazlo wasn’t. He was somehow sea-calm but at times he could be as ferocious and devastating as a newly-made weapon; considering that his best friend and brother at arms friend, William had taught him that. William Watts continued walking. He was one of the city’s most respectable and merciful killers. His profession is to kill, or to simplify it, he is an assassin or a pay-to-kill mercenary. But before he became that he was a cryptologist, he was really good at deciphering; but had to leave it due to the lack of mysteries and codes to be unraveled and debunked. He had lost his family just a year after the apocalypse had started and had nearly lost everyone except for his sister, Samantha and had his daughter, Elizabeth, who now is nineteen years old and had survived the journey to the Ground Below. William being on his mid- forties still has the uncanny ability to run long distances without getting tired and that he could somehow manage to have an expert accuracy at firearm. Meanwhile, Samantha was five years younger than William, she, like her brother; could also have expert accuracy in firearm. Being the only working woman, in the family left; she acted as a mother to Liz and took care of the family; or what’s left of the family.  The world around these people were pretty messed up. After the spread of the infection; almost forty percent of the world had turned into Chiroptera; which is the scientific term for these bat-like creatures. Thirty percent of the world had died, after they got bitten or were killed by the survivors; the rest of the twenty percent lives underground, and had formed a society and created lifts and subways as their way to go up to the real world; which now is sadly inhabited by the mistakes and carelessness of man. There was never even a question put up on if we could ever return to the surface, or if a cure was ever a found; but as one individual put up the question, he or she was certainly found dead in their house the very next day. As the mysterious death of a person was done in elaborate ways such as a hundred cuts to their body or their body parts extracted or to give excruciating pain to the victim so that he chooses to get poisoned or given a clean chopped head. There were some conspirators who had figured that this was the government’s doing but had never raised their voices because they were highly alerted because there was always the execution or the worst punishment to be thrown into the surface above and be infected and become the Chiroptera. There had been numerous testing for vaccines and antidotes, but as soon as the procedure was finished the test subject went wild eventually getting his hard overly pumped and getting it to blasting inside his heart  due to excess energy and because of the negative side effects of the bacteria in the brain of the subject. As the people lived below the surface, they were happy; a bit happier than how they were on the surface; which now is somehow not a barren wasteland and has nature recovering; but still, happiness and joy can flourish anywhere. People are used to live the life over here and have been doing this for the past twenty three years and are still continuing to do so; but now who knew how one slight twist of fate and some chemical reactions in one’s body can bring such a fatal discovery in the creation of an antidote which can stop the spread of the infection; and that the creation and forming of the antidote was more near than anyone could ever imagine. People were praying to god to make their lives better so that they could return to their Mother above them; and it looked like that their prayers had finally come TRUE. CHAPTER 2:- William reached the market and is buying his rations from the list that Samantha gave him. The list included the following:- 9x9 ammo boxes,  10x6 shotgun shell,  3 ammo boxes of sniper guns,  10 pin grenades,  5 stun grenades,  20 arrows,  3 RPG ammo and;  3 large first-aid boxes.  Food items:- 6 packets of bread, 3 kilograms of chicken, 500 grams of fish, 1 total kilogram of fruits such as apples, oranges, bananas, guavas, and avocados; 1 total kilogram of vegetables tomatoes, cucumbers, lemons, spinach, potatoes and spices like herbs and coriander and mint, 3 cartons of milk, 2 medium tubs of ice-creams (of any kind), and 2 cartons of beer.  William reached the counter, he placed his orders and got his stuff right before he was about to take off; he and the people around him hear a shout-“GROUNDERS! EVERYONE EVACUATE!  EVERYONE! ...” and the cries died. Everyone was suddenly alerted and armed to the teeth. Every person in that area had turned into a military commander; then slowly and silently like a tiger, Lazlo and William stepped into the tunnel with the light shining above them; and see the shadows of six infected. “We both split and take out three at a time.” says Lazlo. The subway was unusually covered in smoke. It was like a fog or mist that was hiding the zombies  from them. The subway had lights which helped people to see better, but it looked like that it had not been turned on. Lazlo then goes forward and 0hides behind a pile of rubble and says-“Okay, but be careful; if you remember they have-“ “Extreme predator and hearing abilities.” said Will, in I-have-already-heard-this-a-thousand-times voice but also being careful. They split up and hide behind old destroyed shops; while maintaining that their noises don’t give away their position. Lazlo spots the first Grounder and gives him a quick stab to the neck and puts the corpse away. William goes prone and crawls to the second infected and blasts its kneecap and in a quick series of movement; he stabs the face of the infected and shoves it behind a table. “Four left. Do you want to go silently or take this to a bloody experience?” asked William. “This is my new shirt, if I get this dirty my wife’s gonna kill me.” said Lazlo in a quiet voice. “Fine we take them out silently.” replied William. Lazlo went forward, while crouched, and took out his grenade. He threw it and kicked the infected and in the nick of time he jumps of the way. BOOOOOMMM! Lazlo took out the remaining of the infected and then returned to William. “Nice one!”exclaimed Will. “Yeah man; never thought I could pull that stunt!” replied Lazlo, while also exclaiming. “You want to investigate?” asked Lazlo. “Why not?!” William and Lazlo go deeper into the tunnel and find soon realize that they were expecting the scene that lay in front of them. A body of a man was found; and it looked like he died while freeing himself from the infected’s grip and that he got his arm bitten out, leading to severe blood lose leading to almost-immediate death. Will looks around and finds the dead guy’s gun and takes his ammo. Lazlo searches the body for any supplies and finds a few bandages, 3 extra cartridges of ammo, and an antiseptic with a flashlight. Will walks around for a little bit more and finds out an inscription, “Hey Laz, look at this.” “HOLY MOLY MOTHER OF GOD!” Lazlo looks at the tunnel’s wall and sees what was written-  “The world is not safe anymore; you cannot stay here anymore; you have a total of twenty-one days to evacuate and to go and rebuild your civilization. Whoever does not comply with the rules; shall be thrown away to the Chiropteran, to either rot or turn into those zombies. Yours truly and truly; 7P HT QHJR 14 17 2050.   “Do you think this is blood?” asked Lazlo. “I don’t think so. How in the world would they write this so fast, and how do they even know how to write; they only walk and run and flail their arms around. You think they got the ability to write?” replied Will. “Does not feel like it. If they would learn how to write they would also learn how to communicate. You think someone is controlling them by their growls?” replied Lazlo. “Let’s check the infected bodies” replied Will. “OK.” replied Lazlo.  William and Lazlo both check different bodies and find nothing except for the fact that they got their hands all covered in blood. When William is checking the last body he finds nothing and decides to return back. But as soon as he stands up, he hears a beep. “You heard that?” asks Will. “Yes I did.” replies Lazlo. “You know where it’s coming from?” asks Will. “Let us find out.” replies Lazlo, with a spark of adventure in his eye.                         CHAPTER 3:- The men venture down the tunnel and to their already sad and devastated day find the bodies of more people; men, women and children. “Oh shit.” exclaims William. “Looks like someone before us had tried to escape or was coming from above the surface.” says Lazlo, as he turns a body around to examine it. “Looks like he was shot then had his limbs ripped apart to look like Grounders and Piercers attacked him.” says Lazlo as he takes the small caliber bullet from the corpse’s spinal column. He then takes a look at it and then continues to say- “Look like it was shot from an auto-rifle; and it is lying just behind you.” William looks back and to his surprise finds an automatic rifle with a few rounds left in it. He takes it and gives to Lazlo while saying-“You found it so you should keep it.” Lazlo takes the gun and keeps it in his backpack. William does some searching and finds the ‘beeping’ object. Shockingly, it was one of Professor Eddie’s prototype tracker and controller. William picks it up and keeps it in his backpack. Lazlo and William now start to walk back and when they reach the Society; they were instantaneous surrounded by civilians, including a few doctors and shopkeepers and Lazlo’s wife and daughter, Ashley and Sam. They instantly leaped towards him and hugged him. Everyone around them were busy discussing on how the infected got underground and who was that guy who was shouting from the tunnel. The doctors check on Will and are relieved to see that he had no bite marks or no scratch marks. After a few minutes, William clears his voice and starts to speak- “My fellow friends and survivors; we have a very disturbing piece of memory in our heads, that we just witnessed in that tunnel. If you all remember the cry of the man who warned us, well, he is dead. He was killed by the infected while trying to break free and come back here. Lazlo and I did some investigation and found many more corpses of other children, women and men who were supposedly going back to the surface, entering our area or were shot and thrown into our area.” William looks at the doctors and tells them-“We need you doctors to go to the end of the tunnel where you will find many bodies, examine them and give us the reports. Take two skilled soldiers and take a cryptologist because you will find some sort of a code. Please hurry.” “Yes Will.” replies one of the doctors and in a few minutes they head of with the two soldiers and a cryptologist. William continues-“As I was saying we found an inscription on the walls of the tunnel and it had the following sentences written on it- “The world is not safe anymore; you cannot stay here anymore; you have a total of twenty-one days to evacuate and to go and rebuild your civilization. Whoever does not comply with the rules; shall be thrown away to the Chiropteran, to either rot or turn into those zombies. Yours truly and truly; 7C HT QHJR 14 17 2050.” People suddenly feel like to panic, they whisper to each other about their safety. The whispers suddenly get louder until they are fully audible conversation. “People, please keep quiet!” shouts Lazlo. “Thanks buddy.” replies Will. “So as I was saying; we are no longer safe; someone is playing these games with us and is letting the infected in or someone is putting the infected over here. If you remember, there is a fully-functional and working military lab and headquarters exactly at a distance of one-sixty-three kilometers outside the city; in the area of the Quarantine Unit, while also passing the territories of the Cannibals. So we have to infiltrate the territory, be completely hidden and reach the Quarantine Unit and then bring the entire fleet over there and somehow survive, yet again, ad rebuild…wait a minute; where’s Liz?”                                       William jolts out of the crowd and runs back to his house; Lazlo also decides to tail Will. Will, in full adrenaline, pushes everything out of his way and rushes towards his house; as soon as he reaches his house, he finds the door to be locked. He then shoots at the lock and it opens, he goes inside Liz’s room but finds it as it was supposed to be; but when he enters Samantha’s room, he then looks at the gruesome crime scene: - Samantha has been stabbed multiple times in her neck and stomach with a switch blade in her hand; which could be that she stabbed herself multiple times, but that s**t wasn’t even humanly possible, it looked like someone had murdered her. There were three bottles of Molotov Cocktails, one revolver, one shotgun, one sniper, two glasses out of which one was empty and one was full with a clear liquid, supposedly vodka, and one bottle of whiskey with one bottle of vodka. Will looks at the scene and falls down on his knees crying and sobbing; while crying he also hears the cry of another person; Liz. He shouts her name and Liz then steps out of the closet; running to William’s arms. “It’s okay baby. Daddy’s here. It’s alright Liz.” says Will while consoling Liz. “Who did this?” “Aunt Sam told me go out and roam around ‘cause she said me that she’ll clean the house. I went out; but before going out, I noticed that there was this shady guy wearing a hood and then he walked away. After a while, I return to take my wallet, and then… I see…” “It’s okay. Keep quiet, you’ve said enough.” “I enter the house and then I see that exact same man, he stabbed Auntie multiple times and looked back to see me. He quickly opened the window and bailed; I thought he would come after me so I hid in the closet… I waited for you to come… but I was expecting his return to come back and kill me. Fortunately, he didn’t and you came. “Did you notice something on his clothes or body?” asks Will, while also consoling his daughter. “I don’t remember seeing any special features on his clothes, but he did have a cross-bone on his hoodie with a large ‘C’ painted in red.” “s**t Liz, do you remember seeing anyone with that guy?” asks Will in a hurried and alert manner. “No there was no one with him…” BANG A bullet is fired outside Will’s house, he tells his daughter to go hide in her room, lock the door and to close all the windows and to hide under the bed. William then takes the guns lying on Sam’s bed and then hides behind the sofa. He then reloads a revolver, and then uses his thermal scanner. While using the thermal scanner, William shouts out-“Who is it? What do you want from my family? Why did you kill my sister? WHY DID YOU KILL HER?!” shouts William while he kills a man with a bullet in his chest. “Your sister!” shouts a man. “That was our leader’s personal assistant and love interest. Unfortunately she made the wrong move of stealing and burning those files from him. When he found out, he sent us; to hunt her down; but it looks like the job has already been done. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” “Your gang made a very wrong move, i***t” and at that moment William throws a stun grenade in the house where those henchmen were taking cover. BOOM “The grenade blasts and the men become dizzy. William takes this as a perfect opportunity and goes in the house and stabs one of the henchmen. He quickly places the body on the ground and goes to the other room. He crouches and enters the room, and looks around and sees no one as soon as he is going to get out he gets choked by a guy and struggles- “You should have known about your sister, but never mind ‘cause you gonna be sent to heaven and then roasted by me and my family.” and as soon as the cannibal finishes saying that he puts the gun near William’s head and says-“Goodbye” before he is shot by Liz. “HHHAHHHHHH!” exclaims Will as he catches his breath-“Liz, what you doing here didn’t I tell you to be in your bedroom.” “And do WHAT? Let you die!?” exclaims an agitated Liz. “Well that was very… nice of you and I think you now can rest.” says Will to his daughter “Let’s go home, Dad” “We’ll go home, but first I need to call Lazlo and ask him to take Sam’s body to Professor Eddie and I and Lazlo have to take off to the Cannibal region. We have to take our revenge no matter what and we have to interrogate on what Sam had stolen and what made her to steal it. But first let’s go to Prof.” “Ok Dad.” says a now stable Liz. William and Liz start to walk back to their house and notice a fairly huge amount of residents who are evacuated from their homes and apartments. William calls Lazlo and asks him if he can come to Professor Eddie’s house, and Lazlo agrees. When they return to the house, William takes out a bottle of Beer and chugs it down. After finishing his bottle he gives Liz one, and she also drinks it. William then thinks that over the course of time that his normal day had gone from worse and then the worst it could ever be. Lazlo arrives in a few minutes and sees the destruction and William waves it off. He then carries Sam’s body and tells Lazlo to carry his backpack. William, Liz and Lazlo walk to Professor Eddie’s lab while hearing the entire recollection of the story by Will and Liz. After hearing the whole story he gives his condolences to the father and daughter and continues saying- “So at the end, you killed some bad guys, bing bang boom, but how did Sam get involved with the Cannibals and what in the world did she steal from those rascals that was so damn important?” “I don’t know Laz, I wish I knew it, but I don’t. We got to get the autopsy report from Prof. and then make a plan and some arrangements on supplies, a map and which road to use and whether is it safe for Liz to go with us.” “Hey! I am going with you, what if they come finding you and they find me instead and don’t even think about putting me in Eddie’s place. God! That place reeks and gives me the chills every time we go there and don’t forget that I have that weird fear of skeletons.” exclaims Liz while she is arguing with her father. “Yeah I know, I’ll not keep you their okay. But you have to listen to me the entire journey and do whatever I say and definitely never ever exploring or running in the wild” replies Will. “Ok Dad” “Hey Will we reached.” says Lazlo. William, Liz and Lazlo reached Eddie’s house. It was a two story house with an underground lab where Eddie would create new weapons and conduct his scientific research. His lab was also a science library for many kids who were pursuing a career as a doctor, a scientist or anything that was science related. His house had a one large front window and he would live with his girlfriend, Ashley, and were planning to get married in this year. Professor Eddie’s lab was underneath his house, like any science-fiction lab would be. But his house also contained his library of books where people would borrow his books and give him money. And like that the guy would get cash and spent it on experiments and new gadgets. Liz went forward and rang the bell. The door opened and she was greeted by Eddie’s girlfriend, Ashley.  “Hey Liz! How are you?” and then she glances at the men and sees Sam’ body-“s**t, get inside.” The men walk inside and walk down the stairs to Eddie’s lab and find him writing a new article; he looks at Will and says-“Hey Will! What’s your work here today?” and then he notices Sam’s body and says-“Put her on the stretcher, now, and go upstairs and freshen up and eat something this is gonna take me one or two hours so you got to wait.” “ OK Eds, but please make it quick.” says William and the trio start moving up while Eddie wears his gloves and grabs hold of a pair of tweezers and starts to get to his work.     CHAPTER 4:- After spending two and a half hours of time in his lab; while the trio and Ashley were discussing about the entire recollection of the day, Eddie comes out. He then brings three sheets of X-Ray, which show three parts of Sam’s body. He then hands the sheets to William. “What is this?” asks William. “This is Sam’s injuries. So, she was stabbed her in her stomach three times. But before that she was drinking which had made her body weak; this had made her less reactant to the guy who killed her. But even after the stabbing she was still alive, and then the guy put two knife stabs to her necks. Surprisingly, she was still crawling and then he flipped her over and shot her in the hip and paralyzed her before putting one in her mouth. But before going he took two of her toes out and if you see in the second sheet you’ll find that two toes are missing. So, your sister died a very, very horrible death and I am very sorry.” said Eddie while taking his lab coat and sitting on the sofa. “Am sorry to Willy.” said Ashley. “So which ever bastard killed her was a cannibal.” said Lazlo. “Yes.” said William. “And whoever killed Sam had done it for revenge.” continued Lazlo. Liz was silent the entire time. She had not spoken since they had entered Eddie’s house and was unusually silent. She had a habit of playing with her hair or just take out a small ball and play catch with it or just simply be in her phone, but no. She was dead silent and had clenched her right hand into a fist for almost an hour. “Liz what you thinking?” asked her father. Elizabeth then replied-“Dad, Lazlo, Eddie and Ashley; don’t you think it’s a bit stupid that someone just wouldn’t exactly wait outside our house and wait for it to become empty, so that at that exact moment Aunt Sam becomes drunk and sort of loses her mind and ability to react? And what do you think Aunt Sam had stolen that had made her in the assassination list of the Cannibals? I think the killer might have come inside as her friend, who was also Auntie’s closest friend and then try to commemorate a bit for meeting after a long time and when Aunt got drunk that guy decides to finish her off? And that guy didn’t get drunk because he was not drinking vodka but was drinking frickin’ water! He would have been spying at our house for a couple of days until now when he decides to see us all leave the house. And those bodies that you found in the tunnel that was actually a trap made so that you all will stay there and investigate even more? What if this was all an elaborate trap! We have to get to the Quarantine Zone ask for the help of the military and their militia and then we have to kill of the Cannibal’s Base to the ground!” exclaims Liz while taking out her wrath on the Cannibal Gang. “It’s a good idea. But we should not risk this form of invade-and-kill  approach we should plan this out, go to the Quarantine Zone; ask the military to come with us and then strategize a plan to either kill or put those cannibals in some sort of Super-testing  facility or prison. “ says Lazlo. “If what she is saying is true , then go back to your house, search every inch of it ; then return to me, regardless of if you find clues or not. Hurry up now ,chop chop.” says Eddie while he goes back to the kitchen and keeps the coffee mugs and plates which previously had ham sandwiches, potato chips and ketchup. “Hey Eds! We found this in the tunnel while fighting the infected in the heap of bodies. Remember the prototype tracker and controller you lost while going above the ground, well I and Lazlo found it, which might be used to control the infected. Now, you can finish the project you were working on.” says William as he hands the prototype to Eddie. “Thanks you guys! Now go find me some more clues to examine.” says Eddie before he happily takes the ‘beeper’ and returns to his lab. “Be safe you guys, and don’t get infected or be eaten. Goodbye.” says Ashley before kissing Liz on the forehead and Lazlo and William on the cheek. “Now we gotta get back to our house as fast as we can.” says William. “Hey guys, if you’ll notice its ten p.m. which means that we have to get…home…fast. says Liz while yawning. “You sleepy, walk for just ten minutes okay, then I’ll put you in your bedroom and then you can doze off.”  says Will while he kisses his daughter’s forehead and carries her backpack. William, Elizabeth and Lazlo walk for about fifteen minutes and reach William’s home. Lazlo opens the door, and moves aside to allow Liz to enter who immediately keeps her bag on the sofa takes off her shoes on the floor mat and goes to her room. Lazlo then sits on a chair and William goes to take out two beers and two pitchers. He then uncorks the bottles and pours them in the glass and gives one to Lazlo and keeps one to himself. After finishing a quarter of the pitcher, William speaks- “SO… what do you think?” “Think what?” asks Lazlo in a rather tired and confused voice. “You think we should investigate for more clues?” says William. “Nah, I am too tired and then we again have to go back to Eddie to give him the clues so he can examine them. I am not doing it, that’s a job for tomorrow. Also I gotta get back or my wife will start to get all, you know, worried.” says Lazlo as he finishes half of the pitcher. “But Laz we gotta find something for Eddie to investigate or what if the clues get destroyed. You know, like air particles cover the stuff and whatever stuff Eddie says regarding handling the clues and items. Just help me to find more clues, like the knife or the gun. The glasses and bottles , blood samples; then you can go straight home. Come on man, you gotta do this, as much as she was a sister to me she was also very much like a sister to you. Please Laz.” begs William as he finishes the pitcher. “Okay, but I am only going to find the stuff. The responsibility of keeping them and giving them to Eddie will be yours. Deal?” “Deal” Both of them then start to search for clues in Sam’s bedroom and find out that Liz was eventually correct about her proposition on how the intruder/killer had got in. There were two glasses, one had yellow stains beneath it signifying that it’s whiskey and there was a green glass bottle. William then went to the bottle and smelled it, and yes it did smell like vodka, with water. “So Liz was correct after all. There is Vodka. Do you think the knife would be somewhere around here?”says William. “Let’s check the trash cans, the killer might have thrown it there.” says Lazlo, while leaning on the wall of Sam’s room. “OK, yep might be. He might have thrown it in there while he was spotted. But before that let’s take a sample of Sam’s blood. Come on, give me that vial; it’s on my study table. Also bring the dropper.” says William as he asks Lazlo to bring the above items. Lazlo quickly goes to William’s room and searches the drawers and he finds the vial. He then looks for the eye dropper and finds it on the shelf beside the bed; but before exiting, something shiny under William’s bed catches his eye. He goes on all fours to look for that object and then shouts-“WILL! COME OVER HERE FAST!”  The moment William hears that, he quickly drops his backpack and reloads his revolver, and then he crouches and moves. “What happened? HOLY s**t!”says William as he finds out what Lazlo is holding. It’s the head of a Piercer and also has a switch blade attached to it. After hearing Lazlo’s shouting, Liz wakes up and gets out of her room. She goes towards her dad’s room only to see what the men had discovered. “No WAY.” says Liz as she looks at the head of the Piercer with the switch blade stuck in his head. “Honey.” says William-“Sorry for getting disturbed in your sleep but we gotta get to Eddie. Pack your bag, take a few clothes, and take those packets of chips, take three to four water bottles take those first-aid kit in your bag. And here take this rifle. You remember how to aim,fire and reload right?” “Yes Dad” replies Liz. “Well good. Hey Laz, can you take the blood sample. Also handle it carefully, it hasn’t been used in long time.” says William as he packs his backpack with his own clothes, ammo, food items, medicine and a photo of his family. “Sure boss.” says Lazlo as he mocks Will and takes the blood sample into the vial. “Hey William, you need to come by to my house. I got something to show you.” says Lazlo as he puts the final drop off the wall and into the vial.  “Laz ! You done?  I packed your bag and it’s on the sofa it’s got some shotgun shells in it.” says William as he puts the last pack of ammo in his bag. Meanwhile, among all this commotion; Liz has just blankly stares into the night sky. Thinking about that time where everything was just fine and normal, even though it was not so normal in her dad’s time, she was still happy with the life under ground. It was a happy life with all her friends, and she inviting them to her house and they horsing around with her, and she horsing around with them. She had that feeling that a good time would arrive soon. A time when peace and tranquility will return on and below and above the surface of the Earth a time when everybody would no longer hide in the shadows but come out and live together, as a society, as a community , as a family. But that road to happiness and prosperity had to be born from a time of misery, pain, suffering, and most importantly DEATH.                                           CHAPTER 5:- William and Liz reach Lazlo’s house and he opens the backdoor for them. They then enter the house and Lazlo goes upstairs to his wife’s room to find her sleeping and his children have also slept. He then says them to follow him. William and Liz follow Lazlo and he takes them to his basement. It’s dark and creepy and gives a eerie feeling. William then asks Lazlo-“Are we going to stay in the dark?” To which Lazlo replies-“Oh sorry man, forgot about the lights. I usually sneak down here with a torch or lamp so I don’t wake up anybody. Here, I’ll turn on the lights.” and then Lazlo switches on the lights. “VOILA!” says Lazlo. The entire room is filled with an armory of weapons such as shotguns, hunting rifles, RPG’s, assault rifles, snipers and two huge Gatling guns. His armory also contained revolvers and magnums, with many melee weapons such as a dagger, machete, a crowbar, a baseball bat and a bow. “s**t Lazlo! You do have a heck of an armory! Can we borrow a few, like two or three stuff?” asks Liz. Lazlo promptly replies-” NO.” “Please Lazlo, please man we gotta take a few or else how are we gonna fight against those guys?” begs William. Lazlo then leans against the wall and then lets out a laugh-“You guys really fell for it!” and then continues-“Yeah man, come on take it. But the maximum allowance is three.” “Thanks pal.” says William in a cheerful mood as he happily takes a bow, a shotgun and a sniper. “So all together we have two shotguns, two snipers, one bow, two revolvers, and one Magnum. We ready, now we gotta go to Eddie. You’re coming with us Lazlo?” “Nah; this is the end of the line for me. I can’t come because I gotta run the shop and give out the supplies to people you know. Plus, this is your mission, your journey. Also if you ever encounter any bad fate, like you are on the verge of dying, just remember that ‘part of the journey is the start but also the end.’ Now go to Eddie and give him the stuff to examine. Goodbye, old friend” “Goodbye, Lazlo.” says William as he walks out of Lazlo’s house with Liz at his side. “So now we have to go to Professor Eddie?” asks Liz. “Yep, we give him the clues; we both can freshen up a bit, you can ask Ashley to give you some extra food packets. I’ll ask Eddie medicine, and then he can give me the results of his research and then we can get over the hatchet at the break of dawn. Till that time you can finish your sleep. As we have an estimated time of six hours and fifteen minutes, you can then take a five and a half hour of sleep. Now let’s move fast and we will reach Eddie’s house in ten minutes.” “Okay dad.” says Liz in a sleepy voice with the occasional yawn.   The father and daughter duo then arrive at Eddie’s house after ten minutes. William then knocks on the door and is welcomed by him, who then says- “Knew it you would come back. So what have you bought?” he asks them. As soon as Liz shows Eddie the head of the Piercer with the switch blade stuck on it, Eddie’s joy and cheerful immediately gets out of his face and his face his replaced with a shocked, and frightened twelve year old boy when he sees a rabid dog chasing him. “Come on, get in fast. Go down; keep your bags here, take the clues out and quickly place them on my table.” says Eddie as he locks the door. He then puts the backpacks in a separate room. He then takes his coat out of his cupboard and quickly rushes down. “Liz, you can go up and sleep in my room. Now, come on quickly go up.” says Eddie, as he takes out a small sample of blood on to a glass, and puts them under a microscope. Liz goes up. Eddie focuses his microscope and examines the blood sample and then ever so quickly takes the Piercer head and takes out the switch blade stuck in it and then examines the switch blade. During that time, William roams around Eddie’s lab and looks the new things Eddie has enriched it with. Between the certificates of merit, William spots a picture of the late Sir Stephen Baker and his late wife Mrs. Baker; who were Eddie’s parents. Eddie was born eight years before the apocalypse and had lost his parents while they were trying to find a cure for the infected. Since, the age of seventeen, Eddie lived on his own, and had got six PHD’s. His need for a family was finally completed when he met Ashley at the age of twenty four. Ashley’s parents had died trying to protect her and had become zombies. They were then killed by Ashley herself because she realized that there was no ‘mom’ or ‘dad’ living in those bodies. There was only a monster. She then lived with several families and had got a sustained job from which she helped her adoptive family and had eventually ran away from the family when she met Eddie. They then lived in the Ground Below and have been one of the most active members of the society since Eddie became the lead scientist and weapons developer in the Ground Below. “Hey Will, the results are complete and you gotta see this.” Will reaches Eddie’s desk and sees five reports. Two of them had the picture of the switch blade while one of them had the picture of the blood sample and the rest had the picture of the Piercers head. “So what you got here?” asks Will. “Well the blade you found in the switch blade’s head had the same blood traces as of that of Sam’s and both the fingerprints on Sam’s body and the switch blade is the same. So the killer murdered her with this switch blade and then he used this to kill an infected and then hide it under your own bedroom so that no one finds it.” “Well that i***t sucks, must have been a newbie at the job.” says William as he closely listens to Eddie. “Also the Piercer had a fresh cut in his cranium which was done by the switch blade. He was also apparently first shot by a Magnum.” “How do you know that?” asks William, with a rather curious look on his face. “I am the weapons developer; also there was a bullet when I did the X-Ray. So whoever killed Sam is a Cannibal, he had a switchblade with him, oh yeah, I almost forgot. The blade had the name Diana engraved on it. So the killer also has someone called Diana, who might be his family member or love. We find out that he also shot the infected with a Magnum and then stuck it in his head. Hey, what are you thinking?”  “I’m gonna take my revenge. I am gonna burn that damned society and base to the ground. I will burn every last one of them and I am… I am gonna kill every last one of them.” says Will. “Well if you are trying to go to that path of destruction, I am not stopping you but I can give you just one weapon; that I think that you might require.” says Eddie and takes out a bunch of keys from his drawer and proceeds to go below his lab in his lower basement and presses his hand against the door. In a few seconds the door opens and a voice says-“Welcome Eddie.” William then enters the room with him following Eddie’s lead and then he takes the keys and uses three at a time and moves the first one in the clockwise manner, the other at an anti-clockwise manner and the last key was inserted in the lock. He then takes the lock out and then a display manner pops up and says Eddie to enter his fingerprints and then Eddie says to Will-“Put your hand on the access panel and hold it there so that it can get your prints. Leave after ten seconds.” Will follows Eddie’s orders and places his palm on the access panel. The access panel beeps after ten seconds and says-“Welcome William. This weapon is solely your property and no one else’s.” and then the door opens and William is astonished, a Red-hot coloured, white striped Flamethrower! William picks up the flamethrower and admires its beauty. He looks at it from every angle and then reloads the canister. “The canister contains two hundred millilitres of liquid hydrogen, which is then ignited from the lighter in the back of the pipes when it reaches full combustion, which takes two seconds, it comes out from the flamethrower and does what it is has to do. This is the most effective weapon when it comes to fight infected. Grounders and Piercers can die in a two to five millilitre usage while Crushers and Destroyers can take anywhere from twenty millilitre to fifty millilitre. The most ideal way to conserve its ammo is by first dousing your enemy in a little flame so that they get weakened and are focused on extinguishing themselves; and in that moment you can then use two bullets for the small enemy types and use somewhat three or four shotgun bullets for the big guys. So as you are gonna fight a huge army, sort of, i am gonna give you two l****s, which means nine more canisters of hydrogen.” “But isn’t that two hundred millilitres short?” says Will in a confused manner. “What about the one you are using right now?” replies Eddie. “OHH, okay.” replies a now stupid William. “So you pull the trigger over here, and then you aim it like a regular gun. But remember this is meant for short range distances only, like a shotgun. Never ever try to use it for long ranges. If you do, it will blast on to your hands leaving anything and anybody in a two meter radius to burn like you, and if you use it for long ranges you’ll also waste the supply. Oh, almost forgot, when reloading wait for it to cool down then put another canister. So here is my stuff.” “Won’t you require one if someone comes to attack?” says William in a concerned voice. “Nah, I have my own below the bed in a long briefcase. And I also have a lot of weapons and prototypes in the cabinet. So, I am all fine.” says Eddie. “Eds.” says William-“I might require some alcohol, the medicinal kind and some bandages. Can you give me those?” asks William. “Why not? Wait here for a couple of minutes and I’ll be back.” Says Eddie as he goes upstairs to get the bandages and alcohol. William looks at his watch, and sees that three hours are left until sunrise, he sits on the chair and puts his head on the table. He then gets up and goes upstairs to the ground floor and sits on the sofa and waits for Eddie to arrive. He waits and waits for Eddie to arrive and then he falls on the sofa and falls asleep.  CHAPTER 6:- William wakes up. He looks around and sees that it’s surprisingly been only two hours since he fell asleep on the sofa. He was covered with a sheet, which probably was given by Eddie when he found him sleeping. The entire family was asleep. Only William was awake. H then gets up from the sofa and again looks at his watch, and realizes that only one hour is left before sunrise. He goes to the washroom and washes his face and brushes his teeth. After that he goes to Liz’s room and ever so quietly and gently wakes her up, she does push him away with her hands but she eventually gets up and goes to the washroom; brushes her teeth, braids her hair, and washes her face. She then goes back to her room, picks up her bag and weapons and drinks water from the bottle in the fridge. She then sees her father going up to Eddie and Ashley room and sees them sleeping he then quickly takes out a sticky note and writes something on it with a pencil and sticks it on the book shelf beside Eddie. William then comes down and takes his backpack and weapons and takes two beer bottles and two water bottles. “Hey Dad, don’t you think those guys will be a bit mad when they find out that we took their stuff? asks Liz. “That’s why I made the sticky note.” replies William. “Dad, do we have to walk all the way there in one stretch. We can wait in any non-infected or cannibal area, right?” asks Liz while she thinks about the journey and what they will encounter. “We will stop at some buildings and search for supplies or if required ask help from someone. But for now let’s put these things aside, and concentrate. Now let’s go we have a long journey.” says William as he opens the door of Eddie’s house and walks out with his daughter. William and Liz walk to the end of the tunnel. William says Liz to focus here torch on the hatchet while he opens it. Even after a few tries, the hatchet still does not even budge. “Hey dad, use the crowbar as a lever and then pop open the latch.” says Liz as she takes out the crowbar from her dad’s backpack. “Smart choice.” says William as he grabs the crowbar and inserts it into a small hole in the side of the hatchet and puts all his force to open the hatchet. In the end, the hatchet opens and Will slides it and climbs up. He then gives his hand to Liz and then she grabs hold of it and climbs it too. They both look behind and together exclaim-“WHOAH!” The sun had just risen. It looked so majestic when it came up, it was the most beautiful landscape both of them had seen in their life. With the trees and the birds chirping the lake up ahead, this looked like the perfect spot for a campfire and no one had even thought about it. They just stood and stared at the flaming semi-circle as it rose up until it was being full ball of fire; which according to the ancient legends, signified hope, victory and the triumph of good over evil. Will’s senses heightened and he became alerted, he then told Liz to get down and slowly follow him. William walked slowly until they reached the back of the building. He then reloaded his shotgun and sniper while simultaneously commanding Liz to- “Stay here. I think I saw a couple of infected; I’ll go and search the area. If anyone or anything attacks you, kill them with your revolver. If you see there is a lone wolf who is separated from the pack, kill him with your knife, drag the body and put it in the garbage dump right there. Don’t do anything stupid, also keep calm and don’t make a noise.”    “Okay dad, also how do I know something has gone wrong?” asks Liz. “If something goes wrong from my side you’ll hear gunshots; then and there, you will look around see if the coast is clear and change your hiding spot. If I need your help, I will shout your name. If you get into trouble, just blast the bastard’s head off. But if you think you are overwhelmed and you will not be able to withstand the fight and pressure then RUN. Drop a smoke grenade and run, if you want to finish your enemies right and there, stab them as they will not be able to see you. Enough talk, now I gotta check it out and remember whatever just said.” “Okay Dad, but please come soon.” says Liz in a caring and concerned voice. “I will honey, I will.” and after finishing the sentence he goes into the building. William goes inside the building and sees that the whole building is covered in black paper which stops the light from entering. The entire building was covered with Chiropteran cocoons. It was like a transformation chamber which would come out of a infected person when he was undergoing the change in his body and slowly transforming into the zombie. A person who recently turned into a zombie could be a Grounder or a Piercer, they would then become a Crusher and if they remained infected for too long, for about a year and a half, they would turn into a Destroyer and be the most powerful infected ever.  He then thinks to himself-“DAMN! The people who lived here really did want to hide themselves from the Cannibals and the Chiroptera. Let’s see what I can find over here.” He then opens the drawer and finds some shotgun ammo and says-“These might be the military’s, who  else other than the military would carry armor piercing rounds? This will seriously come in use.” And he keeps the ammo in his pocket. He goes forward and opens more drawers and finds nothing. He then decides to check the second floor and climbs the stairs, for light he uses his torch and slowly walks upstairs. He then hears a man shouting before the shouts die out and a large ‘thud’ hits the ground. William thinks to himself that it is a large object that fell from the upper floor, but oh was he wrong. The object that fell was actually a Crusher. It was eight feet tall, it had four arms two in the front and two attached to his back and had some sort of huge hammer attached to it’s hand. “That’s why they call it a Crusher. Damn zombie has a hammer in his hand and can crush anything that comes in its way. Gotta use the flamethrower but I gotta get close to him before attacking. What should I do?”  William thinks to himself. “He then sees a rusted gun and picks it up. He checks it for ammo but doesn’t find any. He then takes the gun and flings it to the Crusher. It hits the crusher and a few infected like Grounders and Piercers come out. William then without any hesitation opens fire. The infected rush onto him but he finishes each of the smaller enemies with a bullet from his shotgun. He then sees that the Crusher picks up the Grounder and launches it towards him. William quickly dodges but he gets a scratch from the infected’s talons. He quickly kills the Grounder and rushes back downstairs. He then puts a few drops of alcohol over the scratch and puts a band-aid over it. He then quickly makes his way up from the other staircase and sees the Crusher going down the stairs, he thinks quickly and crouch walks behind the rubble and when he is half a meter away from the zombie, he shoots him in the hammer hand, causing severe pain to the zombie which is clearly seen from the way the zombie screams. William then quickly takes out his flame thrower and uses a small amount on the Crusher and he ignites into a large burning humanoid. William hangs the flamethrower from his shoulder and takes out his Magnum and shoots three bullets at the infected, before the infected falls on the ground. William pants and searches the area for supplies and finds a few more revolver ammo and shotgun ammo. He then finds a small first aid kit and empties the required items in his bag. While searching the drawers, he finds a car key, which when he presses the button, he hears a sound and tries to look for the car and finds a jeep’s lights switched on. He quickly paces down the stairs and finds Liz behind the dumpster and sees her crying. He goes near her but she shouts to him-“Don’t come near me!” “What happened honey?” William asks his daughter.  “I killed him, he was infected but he could have been saved.” “Honey, he was no more in there. A part of him might have been there but after all he would have turned into a zombie, and you know that. Instead of murdering him, you freed him of his pain and anguish. You killed a man and stopped one of the first cycles of him not infecting others and not frightening others. You did a very brave thing and this is the reason why I love you. You don’t go away from the truth and justice, instead you fight for it and destroy the evil things or presence.” “Thanks dad.” and then Liz stops her crying and gets up along with William and they go to the jeep and William gets inside it. They then turn it on and fortunately it works! William then puts his backpack on the seat beside the driver’s. He then goes to Liz and says-“You drive, okay?” Liz could not believe what her father had just said. She asks if he’s just joking but he says that he is not joking and that she is now old enough to drive and also that William is feeling too tired and will probably sleep while driving the car. Liz exclaims and then says-“You are the best dad, Dad!” and then quickly sits down on the driver’s seat. William then gets into the backseat of the car and Liz gets in the driver’s seat. She then inserts the key and turns in and the car comes to life. She then puts the car in reverse and takes the car out of the damaged area and takes it out on the road. “Which way should we go?” she asks her dad. “We got to go straight for about fourteen or fifteen kilometers, you will have to turn right and use the highway for five kilometers. It’s gonna take us about an hour, so don’t disturb me. When we reach the highway, then wake me up,” and after giving the instructions, William goes to dream land. Liz now says to herself-“I can do this, I have the map too. This will be easy.” “You, said something, Liz?” asks William. “No Dad.” she replies. “Uh, okay.” says William and then he returns to his sleep. Liz then puts her foot on the accelerator and presses it, she then uses the wheel and takes the car out of the garage and gets it on the road. “Let’s do it.” says Liz. She presses the accelerator and the car goes speeding at fifty kilometers per hour. She then thinks to herself that she will reach the highway soon but little did she and her father know about the dangers which were on the highway. Liz crossed the seventh out of ten kilometers to reach the highway. She then looks at the fuel gauge and sees that before they reach the highway, the fuel will be all out. She then reduces her speed, and continues driving straight. As she is driving, she looks at the birds from the window and sees them fluttering in the sky. She had come outside of the tunnel twice or thrice when she was small but she had never seen a more mesmerizing scenery than this.  She then looks at the mountains and the valleys which were towering in the sky, they were about a one thousand kilometers away, but God did they look beautiful. She then looks forward and decides that she wants to step outside the car and catch her breath because the entire time spent inside the car was spent while the windows were close so that no one could attack them. Liz looks at the sky and sees that the sun had finally risen; she looks at how the sky blended the orange, yellow and blue colors and created a view which was perfect for a romantic movie to be shot at. She then thinks about her ex-boyfriend, and how he had left her because he had to go to the military to his father and stay with him while his mother had been transported to a hospital to treat the sick. She then sobs for a bit and takes sheds some tears but then gets a grip of reality, and takes out a books from her bag. It was a book about survival tactics and how one should survive if they get caught in any of the situations. She had pasted a couple of pages in it, and had labeled them as-“HOW TO SURVIVE A ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE”.  She then writes a few paragraphs regarding on how to survive the many different types of zombies that she and her father had encountered; their weaknesses and strong points and their special powers and features. She also specifically wrote in red ink that if they are ever attacked and bitten or scratched by a zombie, they should immediately go to a hospital in the next hour or put some sort of suction that stops the infected blood from circulating around the body. She then closed the book and put it inside her bag. She then looks at her dad and again looks at the sky and gets mesmerized by its beauty. She then thinks that she should run for a while, but quickly dismisses the fact. Liz then steps out of the car and sits on the road. She again gets up and takes out a small packet of chips and a bottle of water and starts having a good time while she sees the gift of nature around her. She slowly munches the chips and looks at the sky.  After a few minutes she sees something walking in the distance, it’s a man. A non-infected man. He comes towards her, and Liz automatically pulls out her gun, the man puts his hands up in the air and says-“Girl, can you please give me the water, I came a long way walking. My family was just murdered by a few infected, I was the only one surviving. I then came here scrounging for help, so can you please help me?” “And why should I listen to your lies?” Liz asks the man. “Because of this.” and the man shows her two bullets from where he was bleeding. “Holy s**t! You seriously need water! Just wait, I’ll take it out.” says Liz as she takes out a fresh bottle and gives it to the man. William then gets up and sees the man, he sees Liz and says her to hit the man and let him come out. William then realizes that he should not have got up. The man then takes Liz hostage and aims a gun at her head and says-“Willy, my boy! How are you?! Its been a long time since we last met and it looks like you got a child for yourself. You’ve all become a family man and father I suppose? So how will your family like you when you bring the dead body of yer little girl back?” Liz then thinks quickly and stabs her knife in the man’s thigh and ducks so that the bullet hits his other palm and the man drops the gun. William then aims his gun at the man but suddenly has tiny dots on his head. He then looks back and sees the he is surrounded by many men holding assault rifles which are aimed at Will’s head. The man smirks and then speaks out aloud-“Allow me to introduce myself, my dear girl.” As he holds Liz’s cheeks-“I am Jack. My friends call me c***k Jack and my enemies call me ‘the Crosser’. So let’s cut the crap and return to business, why in the damn world are you crossing my territory, Will?” he asks William. Without any reply from William, Jack then shouts-“The last time, if you remember, I offered you help, you lead those men out in the woods, and then you supposedly “fought” those Cannibals and defeated them, right? But you frickin’ liar! You took those men down in the woods and let them die while you made your silly escapades, and then what… you went to the Ground Below and started a new life. You changed your personas so many times and then you suddenly decide to make a new one and let the other ones burn!” says Jack while he clenches his teeth. He then turns towards Liz and says-“How are you…my niece?”             CHAPTER 7:- A sudden silence engulfs William and all the men which had their gun pinned on Will. They look at each other and think that Jack has gone delusional; Jack then continues speaking to Liz-“Oh! So it looks like you don’t know your family tree, is it. So let me tell you something, your mother Christine was my sister.    Your father, William, joined us when he lost his parents, at the age of eighteen, you know. At that time, my father would run this militia and he happily took him in. Your father and I became best friends; we hunted, killed and played together. As soon as he joined us, he saw your mother and instantly fell in love with her. She suddenly since day one became his partner. When we became nineteen, the day came where we would either choose a partner or fight to become the next leader. Your mother and this guy over here instantly chose each other and were married the very next day.  They then, with the help of the masons from the other town build three houses. One for him and his wife, my sister; one for me and my wife and one for my father. My father loved this gift, but did not live in them and lived outside it because he was taught from his father, my grandfather; ‘that a man should always guard his house but always live in the wild to do it.’ I never really quite understood and always had a non-serious argument which had me discussing the facts that he should live in a protected unit if he is offered .But suffice to say he does not listen to me, as he is my father, and I am his son. He then turns the house into an armory. At the age of twenty, he sends your father and me on a mission, but I am unable to come because I get my leg bitten by a snake, which was a clever plan devised by my sister. I get my leg paralyzed for a week, and during that time, your father takes the mantle of ‘Mission Leader’ during that time. The mission if gone properly would take an estimated time of four days, and if faced maximum difficulty would take ten days. We waited for days, hoping to see the sign of victory or our troops returning with more supplies or food. But we didn’t. At the eleventh day, when all hope was lost and when we thought our training had gone to vain, we see one of the soldiers come out from the bush. We quickly go to help him because he is bleeding profusely, but then he speaks and says-“Will and Christine betrayed us. They have abandoned us,  go to the jungle…which… has the pine tree… make him suffer… kill William.” And then he dies at the spot. We make a grave for him, and my father and I lay down our favorite guns, his Sniper and my shotgun , and then we bury it into the grave while resting peace for the soldiers and that my best friend dies a painful death.” “Wow!” says William.”You just gave me the story of your life after I joined your crew!” “Yes I did, and lookey-lookey there, I made your daughter’s I swell up too” says Jack, he was almost starting to behave like a maniac. “Okay boys enough of this bullshit, let’s take old boy William’s lights out.” Says Jack as he turns his back and gets on to his car. “You did it! It was you who did the kill! I’ll kill you, you bastard…” CLANG And with the swing of the baseball bat, William falls unconscious on the floor.                                                   CHAPTER 8:- “William?” says a voice. It was very sweet and harmonic. It sounded like his wife, Christine. “William?” repeats the voice. William was sure that the voice was his wife’s. “HEY TRAITOR!” shouts the voice. William then gets up with a pant and it looked like that he had had a nightmare. It felt like the Devil himself came to him and said those words to him. He then looks around to see that his hands are bound to chains and those chains are bound to two electrical rods. He looks at his surroundings, and sees his gun lying in front of him. He gets up and tries to pull the gun from his legs, but lets out a scream. “AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” shouts William. He shouldn’t have made that move. He did not know what shocked him. “He then looks around and finds himself in the room where Jack’s father would make deals with his enemies and forge clans. He became an expert at deals, and laid down all the regulations but wrote them in a very long and descriptive manner which made the other deal makers very bored. They would then hurry to the contract and put their signature. If they followed what he said, then well and good, he would also then ask if he could do anything for the other clan members. He would work in the ‘an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and a soul for a soul’ rule. If someone made the mistake of not following him, when it was his turn; he would uphold a public execution where he would explain the criminal his or her crimes and then chop their hands off. And if they were still alive, he would chop of their head, and ask his crew to clean up the mess. William looks around and tries to find an escape route but can’t he then gets pretty worried about where his daughter is. He tries to make his face as calm as possible, but sadly he ends up sweating profusely. He then looks around for a guard and finds one in front of the door. “Hey Boss.” says a guard-“The guy’s awake.” “Thanks, now you can go and have your rest.” Says Jack as he enters the room. “Hey Willy! How are you? So how was your sleep? Good, I suppose, and how was your evening snack, the electric shock?” says Jack with a smirk smile on his face as he mocks William. “Pretty not good.” says William while he gets up and stands eye to eye with Jack. “Oh, so Will didn’t like the shock. It was just a minor one. I bet you will be able to take the pressure of a bullet in your palm. Let me give you the rules and regulations around here, if you don’t comply by me and me crews orders, you’ll get more shocks and shocks and shocks… until you die. So you better listen to us and no more tricks. Else the girl goes to see her mother.” says Jack as he aims a gun at William’s head. “Where is she? WHERE IS SHE?!!” shouts William. “Your daughter is in the cage; trapped, just like you, only without the shocks. He was first struck by a heart attack and then with paralysis from the waist and below. He hoped that she would return and that when you will return you will bring more men and women and repopulate our clan. I finally had to tell him that you were never going to return and nor was my sister. It was a very painful day for us. Days went by and dad became sicker and sicker and started to look like a reanimated corpse.  Then one day he calls me to his bedroom and says that his time has come, and tells that in order to become the leader, I have to kill him. I don’t take the decision, he begs so that he is liberated and finds peace. At the end, I agree with him and he orders me to go for his head. Before shooting the bullet, I tell him that he will find peace and he touches my face and takes the tear from my eye and touches it. He then holds my hand and commands me to execute me. I take the gun in my hand, I put it at his head, He looks at me for one last second and says-“I love you, my son” and then gets the bullet in his head. It was a tough time afterwards, I had not only lost my father but I had also lost my mentor and friend. There was a burial for him at the foot of the hills, at his birthplace, and then we gave our final words to him and left. For several months after that we had a problem with food, ammo, and had many inner conflicts going on with the society. I was made leader, after father’s death and I made a deal with the Cannibals that if they supply us with animal flesh and supplies, we would give them our soldiers, women and forge bonds. The Cannibals happily agreed. The place where you are now standing is the very place where we forged the deal, and now Death will make a deal with you. Get ready to die.”  Jack then gets up from his place and takes a gun in his hand; he takes the very same gun from which he had to kill his father. He then aims at William’s head and says-“Adios, amigo.” William then closes his eyes.  And then he pulls the trigger and gets knocked out.    “What the hell?” says William, he opens his eyes and sees that Jack fell in front of him? He then looks at Jack’s body and sees that he has been tranquilized. He looks around for any more of the guards, but does not find any. He hears footsteps near the window and sees the silhouette of a person, who had the same height as Liz. He thinks that Liz came to help him but no. A boy enters the room and asks William-“Excuse me Sir, what the hell are you doing here?!” he says in a silent high-pitched voice. “I got captured by my friend and he was going to kill me. Thanks for saving me what’s your name?” William asks the boy. “Mike. Short for Michael. And you are?” “Will. Short for William.” replies William in a sarcastic manner. “You got a nice sense of humor William. So I am going to free you but you have to be careful, as there are more of those guys outside, I’ll cut the power. The whole community will have the lights go out, and then I am going to shoot the chains. So, stay here and don’t move.” says Mike as he goes to the back of the torture room and cuts the power supply. The entire area goes dark, people shout howling and screaming. The guards then come and tell the people to keep quiet and gives one family each, a torch. Two of the men then walk to the back of the torture room and see that the wire has been cut. They put on their gloves to fix it, but get shot with an arrow and collapse on the floor. Mike then returns to Will and says-“You’ll have to stretch yourself far enough so that the chains start to break, after I spot its weak point, I’ll shoot it. But prepare to run, as the guards will be swarming in.” says Mike. “Should I stretch now?” asks William. “Yep.” William then takes out his entire energy on the chains and to see if he could break free. He does this for a minute until he feels some things pop. “Just a bit more, more, and stop!” says Mike. He then takes Jack’s gun and shoots at the chains and they come out! Suddenly the entire area becomes alerted and tries to find out from where the sound came from. William then takes his bag, and tries to get rid of the chain but he can’t. Mike then asks him on what should they do, and William replies that they will have to find his daughter and then get out of this area. “Do you know where Jack hides his prisoners?” he asks Mike. “He hides them at the end of the town, which is a thousand kilometers away.” Replies Mike. “A thousand what?!” says William in an astonished manner. “Nah man, just kidding. You see that small house; there is a basement which is the prison. To get there fast, we have to use the back route, and then enter from the back door. But then you’ll trip the alarm, and they will come to you. If you want to be sneaky, we have to kill these guys and then proceed. Which one are you gonna take?” asks Mike. “The fast one.” Replies William. “Are you sure about that?” Mike asks William. He looks very astonished. “Yep.” says William. “Okay then, follow me.” William and Mike then get out of the window and shut it from outside. William then follows Mike’s lead and reach the back of the house and enter through the window. They go to the basement and look around for Liz. “Dad?!” she shouts. William and Mike then go to the last cell and see that Liz is trapped out there with her bag hanging on the other side of the cell. William then takes out his crowbar and hits the lock but it does not budge. “s**t!” it’s not opening. Mike then speaks and says-“Let me try.” William moves out of the way and Mike takes out a bobby pin. He reaches for the interior of the lock and when he reaches the last lever of the lock he sharply turns the pin and the lock then comes out. Suddenly, the alarm buzzes and again the security guards get alerted. They start moving to the prison cells and start going in one by one, being careful of all traps. William hand s Liz her bag and Mike asks him-“How you gonna fight these many guys? They gonna kill us!” Then as quickly as a lightning bolt, William replies-“We have a flamethrower!” William then takes out one smoke grenade from his pocket and throws it on the staircase, the soldiers get blinded and William then takes out his flamethrower and says – “This is how you escape from a prison, HELL YEAH!” William then ignites the men on fire and Liz and Mike keep kicking them to make way for them to move forward. They burn eighteen men all together. When they get out, William sees that only half of the canister had been emptied, he then says Liz to go back to the prison to pick up the supplies. Liz goes down and comes back with a lot of bullets and nine assault rifles, he then tells Mike to carry five and tells Liz to carry four. “Liz, do you remember that where those guys parked their jeep?” asks William. “They parked it over there. They parked it there.” Replies Liz. “Let’s go before any other reinforcement arrives. They then run towards the tree and find the jeep. William checks the dashboard and finds the key and puts them and turns it. The engine roars to life, and they leave the village and drive to the road where Mike guides them.                   CHAPTER 9:- Liz sleeps in the backseat; Mike sits in the front seat and William’s drives. Its sunset and Will looks outside the window and gazes in awe. Mike, however, remains seated and sharpens his knife with a blade. “You don’t like the sunset?” asks William. “I like it, but after you’ve seen it a couple of times, it just looks boring. There are a very few rare times, where the sunset goes to different colors during different seasons, and oh boy, you should see the sunset then.” says Mike.  “Oh well, we never properly introduced ourselves.” says William “What do you mean? We already know each other’s names, what’s left to discuss?” asks Mike. “You never told me where you are from, and how you were in the area to rescue me. By the way, I am originally from Seattle, but after the Chiropteran infection, I started to live in the Ground Below. Where are you from?” “Well I was born in Michigan. And after the infection outbreak, Michigan became one of the experiment conducting areas and had a few labs quickly made. They tested new weapons and vaccines; my father an Air Force Pilot, and he wanted to come and pick me up but could not do so because it was against his orders and my mom is currently with the scientists in Michigan, trying to create a vaccine.” says Mike. “So how you got over here?” asks William. “Well, my mom had requested my dad that I could be transferred to the military base and be trained. My dad talked with his heads, and they allowed. I was on the way passing through the forest, but the car I was travelling in was attacked by those guys, the Cannibals. Because it was in the forest, I got out of the car with a pistol, bow and arrows and my travel bag and a walkie-talkie. I then run off into the woods, and use the walkie-talkie to contact the military and say that we were attacked and they tell me to come to a place where there is a radio tower. I, first of all, was not risking my life by going outside and getting killed, and secondly there was no radio tower or satellite tower. I then give them my last location and throw the walkie-talkie. I then continue to find someone to help me, but no one is there. I then join Jack’s clan and be with him, train and learn how to survive. This was going on for about five months when I asked Jack about if he could somehow transport me to the military. He disagrees but I take it happily. Deep down, I desperately had to get out of here. He kept people after me so that I would not run away, and then you came and he sent everyone to a rest. I take the advantage and here I am.” says Mike as he keeps his knife in his pocket and looks outside the window. “So looks like we have two common grounds over here, the first is that you have been in Jack’s clan and worked with him. The second one is that we both have to go to the military, the only difference in that is that you gonna stay there while I will have to take some of your dad’s help.” said William. After the conversation, William and Mike go on to mind their business. Mike eventually falls asleep, with William being the only one who is awake. He then looks at the sky and sees that it has turned pitch black, with hundreds of stars and one big full moon serving as a light from the skies. William then takes out a map from his bag and starts to find the nearest town, which is a short distance of five kilometers away. He then presses the accelerator a bit harder and starts driving at a fast speed of seventy five kilometers per hour. In ten minutes, he arrives at the town of Las Rican, which for him was a pretty odd name for a town and thinks that it’s a Mexican town. He then looks for a hotel or a house in which they could find shelter in. He sees that there is a house which has its lights switched on. He takes his shotgun and parks the car behind the fence. He then goes towards the door and knocks on it. He hears footsteps coming from inside the house, and sees a small boy come open the door for him. He looks at William and gets scared and runs back upstairs. He then returns with his mom who then asks him-“What do you want?” “I and my children just need shelter for tonight. We have come a long way from Seattle and want to rest in a safe place. We can then leave at seven in the morning, without disturbing you.” says William.  “How can I trust you?” asks the woman. “You can go check the car. You’ll find two teens and three backpacks, which contain guns, water and first-aid.” says William. “Mom, he has first-aid…” “Keep quiet, Will.” says the mother. “We can barter.” says the mother.”We will give you food and shelter; in return you give us a first-aid box right now, a medium or large one.” “I have a large one. Can you let us stay for the afternoon then?” asks William. “Okay, but do not mess up anything” says the woman. “Thank you for your hospitality.  I have just one more thing to ask…” “You can use the garage.” says the woman. “Well, thank you.” replies William as he gets in to the car, and drives it into the garage. He then wakes up Liz and Mike and tells them to carry their stuff, even the first-aid and weapons to a room where the lady guides you; and to not do anything stupid. They then get up and take the weapons and first-aid boxes and carry them with them. William then takes his backpack and closes the garage and puts the keys in his pockets. He enters the house, and asks where he can put the kids to sleep. The woman says that they could go upstairs to the room which is beside the bathroom. Liz and Mike then carry their belongings and put them on the floor beside the cupboard. Mike then goes to the bathroom, and Liz sits on the bed. Mike washes his face and comes out. He then goes down and takes a drink water from the family’s bottle and goes back upstairs, and gets in the bed with Liz and switches off the lights.  “I am truly sorry, about the behavior…” “No need, old teens and young adults can do this when they are extremely tired and have a need of water.” replies the woman. “Will, why don’t you go to bed and let Mr. …” “William” “William and I have an adult talk.” finishes the woman. “Ok mommy.”  And then small Will gives a kiss and a hug to his mom, which his mom also gives him and then he goes to his room and goes to sleep. “You are a doctor, I suppose?” asks William. “I am a pediatrician, a child doctor.” replies the woman. “I never asked you your name.” says William. “Oh! My name is Anne. And your name is William.” says Anne. “You betcha.” Replies William. “So what brings you here?” asks Anne. “Well, my sister was killed by a group of Cannibals, and they also killed a hell lot of guys and dumped it in our tunnel. I forgot to mention, but I live in the Ground Below.” says William. “The Ground Below! I always wanted to go live there since the time this infection started. So you are travelling to the Cannibal’s base camp to take revenge.” “Well we escaped one of their bases, and now we have to go to the military for help, and drop my son and daughter, so that they are safe, while I go out with the soldiers.” says William. “So why are you here? Is this your home? And where’s your husband?” asks William.     “Well we moved from Florida to Las Rican when my husband had constructed this house, since our previous house had been destroyed due to tornadoes and other natural calamities. So we moved over here, and my husband he recently went out, a few minutes before you came in. he should arrive in a span of two to five minutes. He had a friend, who was a bio-engineer; he gave us this house as he had to go to Washington for the making and developing of vaccines.” says Anne. “So, for how many years have you encountered the infection. I mean like how many times you had to fight the infected?” asks William. “Well, we actually encounter them very rarely, because we mostly stay put and that it only happens in big cities, not in small country towns. So, can you tell me a bit more about yourself.” asks Anne. “Well when the zombie apocalypse started, it had Seattle the worst. My parents had died while protecting me and at that time, I was twenty one. I became a nomad for a year, and had joined this clan. It was actually good, because that is the place where I met my best friend, my brother in law; and my wife. I had then escaped with my wife, and started living in the Ground Below and gave birth. I had then gone for a search for supplies and found my long-lost sister Sam. We took her in and she became a part of our family. She was so happy when she looked at me; it was like she had found heaven. So anyways, my wife died when my daughter was just six, she died because of this very unknown virus, which caused her difficulty in breathing, she coughed, and she had a very acute fever and cold. So now, I have to go the military and you know the rest of it.” says William as a single tear flows out of his eye. He quickly then wipes it with his hand and gets to back to the talk with Anne. “So can you tell me a bit more about yourself?” asks William. Anne then takes a trip back to memory lane. She reminisces her past. The sweet smell of dandelions and lilies in her garden. People taking their dogs and crocodiles for walks. Very crazy Florida Memes and Jokes and her family. She dearly loved her family especially her mother, her father and her dog, Scotch. She would play with Scotch and play with his ears. Whenever he heard the word ‘toy’, he should jump and dance circle around Anne and started to play fetch with her. Unfortunately, Scotch passed at the young age of three, and Anne was left devastated. Her best friend had suddenly passed away in the night, even after he was in a perfectly fine condition. She then had herself in depression and had herself locked in her room for three days straight. She then had a very hard time while talking but eventually recovered and took the passing of her dog as a good sign because he had gone to heaven, as all dogs do. Anne then held a tear back and then with a smile on her face started to talk.  “Well, I was born and raised in Florida. It was a pretty funny and crazy town! People doing all sorts of crazy s**t and what not! So I met my husband when I was travelling back to my house and then we fell in love. He came to my house, I went to his house, we got introduced and then we married after six months! My parents reside in the military zone of New York and we talk once a week, everything over here is fine and my son, Will, well he gets his studies done by me and he aspires to be an artist, and I am only teaching him anatomy, math, English and history and geography. And he is really good at It.” says Anne. “Whoa!” exclaims William. “What happened?” asks Anne. “Nothing. It’s just that am both happy and surprised that how your family has through these twenty three years without any sufferings or death in your family. Actually, I am quite impressed with your friendliness and survival skills.” says William. “Aww! Thanks” replies Anne with a cute smile on her face. She then looks at the clock, and suddenly all the happiness in her face is sucked out. She falls down from her chair and starts to drink excessive amounts of water. William then stops her and asks her what happened she then tells him-“My husband should return home by now, there was a group of infected in the supermarket he had gone to. I told him not to go. I have to find him; please you have to help me.” “Okay, okay. But first sit down, and drink… no don’t drink water. Just keep calm and be breathing. I’ll go up and get my guns and then we’ll take my car.” says William as he rushes up to the room where Liz and Mike were sleeping. He opens the door and sees that both the young adults are sleeping, but that they are holding each other tight and were cuddling. William then goes to separate the two, but decides that he won’t and takes a small first-aid kit and takes his backpack. William goes down the stairs and sees Anne with her shotgun and pistol. She then looks at William and says-“Damn, you came all ready and packed.” “Gotta be ready for the emergencies, also can you keep this in your backpack?” and William shows Anne the small first-aid box. “Sure.” Anne then takes the first-aid box from William and keeps it in her bag. “You can take your car out.” says Anne. “Ok, but it’s a bit dirty after a forest escape.” says William. “Nah, this is fine. It’s at least cleaner than my husband’s car.” says Anne. William and Anne then get in the car. William starts the engine, and the garage automatically opens. William then drives the car on to the road and then asks Anne that in which direction they shall go, she replies that they will have to go straight and take a left turn at a three way crossing. William then presses his foot on the accelerator and they start following the road which is in front of them.                            CHAPTER 10:- After a minute Anne speaks and says- “Take a left here.” William turns the steering wheel to the left, and he sees the there are many shops, with their lights on. There are fast-food joints, clothing stores, grocery and meat stores and an auto mobile shop.” “You guys have quiet the working and living area.” says William. “Yeah; that’s why my husband chose this area. He actually has a pretty good choice.” said Anne. “You have any bad or good memories in this town?” asks William. Anne again takes a trip back to memory lane. She then goes through her life’s last eleven years of living in Las Rican. He does not remember anything bad memories and good memories and she immediately realizes that her life has been very bland when they moved to the town. She then goes back to her childhood and reminisces herself playing with her dog, flying kites, reading books, playing with her friends and being on her phone. She then immediately realizes that how bland of a childhood her kid is having and that her kid had forgotten that what it was to be a kid. “Hello, did I say something wrong?” asks a cared and concerned William. “No. We just don’t have anything in this town. We are here.” William puts his foot on the break and there they are. They arrived at the mall which is fairly a huge mall. Anne then gets out of her car and takes her backpack and then William shuts the engine, and takes his backpack. He then pulls up the car’s windows and opens the mall’s door. Anne then shouts out-“Zach!” Which now William gets to know is Anne’s spouse’s name. They then walk around for a while and shout his name. They hear nothing but Anne’s hears someone’s muffled screaming. “Theirs is some up there.” And Anne points out to the clothes store on the first floor. They use the shut downed escalator and start speed walking towards the store, and maintain their stealth. They go towards the store but see it to be locked. “It’s locked. Now what shall we do?” asks Anne. “I don’t know. Shouting the lock would certainly not be good idea.” says William. “We gotta look around.” says Anne and both of them start looking for entrances inside the shop. William heads towards the right, while Anne heads towards the left. William looks around for a while and goes to a washroom to get a break. While he is doing his business, he looks around and finds a window, which leads to the store. He quickly washes his hands and runs to Anne and says in a quiet voice-“There is a window in the bathroom stall which can be used to go inside the stall.” “Nice!” exclaims Anne, while maintain they are unspotted or heard. ” But it’s up, a little below the ceiling, so I have to lift you up while you find a ladder or then pick me up.” says William. “Okay, you have to boost me up. And I’ll find something to pull you up, okay?” asks Anne. “Ok, but if the need arises, you can first give me the ladder to my side, so I can guard it. Then you can free whoever’s inside and then we can get out of here.” says William. “Okay. Now let’s go.” says Anne and she heads towards the men’s washroom. William then shows her the window and says her to climb on his back while he leans on the wall. “Now you have to do it fast, okay?” says William. “Okay.” says Anne as she gets ready to climb on William’s back. “On my count.” says William-“One, two and three!” Anne quickly runs and jumps on William’s back. He grunts and then lifts Anne up. She hangs by its ledge and then William pushes her legs up. She then maintains her balance and carefully lands on the shop. “You okay?” asks William. “Yeah, am fine.” replies Anne. “Find something so that I can come to the other side too.” says William. “Yeah,” replies Anne in return. She then goes to the storage room and finds a ladder. When Anne enters the room, she feels that she can hear someone and that they are very close to find her husband. Anne then places the ladder, after that William picks up the ladder and takes it to his side. He then stands on the top of the toilet and takes the ladder to his side. He then carefully places them and says-“Anne! Get a chair and place it right below the window.” Anne then goes to the cashier’s desk and finds a chair and brings it directly below the window. “I bought it.” says Anne. “Okay, now just move aside.” and William climbs the ladder and hangs on the other side of the window. He then drops down on the chair. And then he stands up on the chair and brings the ladder to their side. “You have some pretty good, observation skills.” remarks Anne as she compliments Will. “Thanks. So you found someone over here?” asks Will. “No, this shop is a big one. We got to check.” says Anne. “I word of caution, if we find anyone out of the ordinary over here, we are leaving that person. I am not making the same mistake i just made and risking another soul into danger.” says Will. “Okay. But if he is bleeding or is shot, then we will have to take it into consideration.” says Anne. “Fine.” says William as he agrees with Anne. “You think we should part ways and split up?” asks Anne. “No!” says Will-“You watched any horror or science fiction movie? Every time the group splits up it’s only a matter of a few seconds before the killer or infected comes and kills them. We will not split up in any situation no matter what! We will stay together as a group.” exclaims William. He then quickly realizes and apologizes to Anne. “Well it’s actually true. This is actually true in most of the plot lines of movies and books; but yeah, you are correct. Let’s not split up.” agrees Anne. William and Anne then check in the try-out stalls and find no one except for a few clothes scattered on the ground. They then check in the bathroom stalls of both genders and find that there is still no one. They then come together and sit on the ground. “Where is he?” asks William. “We have checked everywhere and found nothing. Do we have to check the entire mall?” replies and asks Anne. “We haven’t checked the entire shop.” says William and quickly gets up from the floor and rushes towards the storage room. They hurriedly open the door and move the cardboard boxes, to find out that the storage room is actually a bigger bunker. They then switch on the lights and find out that there are many rooms. William and Anne then search for Zach. They search a few more rooms, and at the seventh room they find an unconscious Zach who had duct tape around his mouth. They take him out of the room, and take out the duct tape out of his mouth and Zach releases a painful cry. “Ouch, man be careful... who the hell who are you, and Anne!” “My name is William and you are Zach.” says William. “Anne, what is he doing here? What am I doing here?” asks Zach in a confused and dizzy manner. “Honey, William helped me to find you, I will tell you the entire story back at home; but you have to tell me yours first.” says Anne. “Well I entered the mall and people were still there, they were buying groceries and stuff. Suddenly these two men come and drug me and put me over here. Then the only last thing I remember seeing is that people were evacuating from the mall.” says Zach. “s**t! I think it’s the Cannibals. They could have followed me because they might have had a tracker in their vehicle. I am an idiot.” says William. “This is not the time to dwell on what happened and we have to focus on getting out of here.” says Anne. “Guys, wait.” says Zach-“Those guys are still here, patrolling the whole mall. Also there are some files in that room, and you guys have to see it.” William and Anne then take out the ropes that were around Zach’s hands and legs. He then stretches for a bit and he then goes back into the room, and takes out a bag. He opens the bag and has a surprised look on his face. He then frantically searches the room but does not find his item. “Honey, what’s wrong?” asks Anne.   “There were these files, that an old man had given to me they had that ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ logo on them and were wrapped in brown paper.” said Zach. “Some files? And an old man gave you that?” asks Anne with a surprised looks on her face. “Yes.” says Zach-“And he even told me that “keep these with you and protect yourself. When you find the right person give it to him or her and your job with this file will be over” and then he just hands me the files and disappears. And then after a few seconds, those guys come and drug me and it also looks like that they have taken the files.” says Zach. “Man, I don’t know if you telling the truth over here, but I am not risking anyone’s life for a goddamn piece of information.” says William with a hint of anger in his face. “Man, we gotta get those files back and we have to find out what it is, he could not have just entrusted me with it.” says Zach. “If we are going to get the files, where do you think they are?” asks a now frustrated William. “They are with those men, who drugged me; they have taken it.” says Zach-“And they are now patrolling the entire building, we have to kill them all or sneak our way past through them and take the files and get the hell out of here.” says Zach as he gets out of the room and sits down on the floor. “Okay.” says William-“But after we take the files, we are getting out of here.” says William. “Thanks man.” replies Zach as he gets up from the floor. “You have a gun or something?” asks William. “Nah man, they took my guns too.” says Zach. William then kneels on the floor with one knee and takes  out a pistol and tosses it to Zach. He catches it and asks him-“You got any big weapons?” “You good with sniping?” asks William. “Yeah man, why you have one?” asks Zach as he has a face of happiness replace his face of tension. “Here take this. Carry it with care, I have only one.” says William “Thanks man!” says Zach as he reloads the sniper and the pistol with a few bullets.  “How many floors are they covering?” asks William. “Well they are covering the first floor and the perimeter of the building.” says Zach. “How do you know that?” asks William. “I have been in the military for six years. Also I saw these guys wearing the same uniform and carrying guns. And I just scanned the entire area and saw that they were only covering the first floor and the ground the floor.” says Zach. “Okay, so now we have to escape from here and get the files.” says William as he finalizes a plan. “Yes,” says Zach. “So I have a plan. We first search the entire floor, the first and the second and see if there’s anyone. If you find anyone, silently sneak up behind them and stab him or choke him or kill him silently. Then hide the body somewhere so that no one finds it. Continue like this until if someone fires at you. If someone fires, automatically everyone will get alerted and we will have a war. So try to kill of as many as enemies by stealth, and hide the bodies in shops, washrooms or in the dustbins. Do anything and everything to survive and DO NOT get caught. You guys got it?” asks William. “Yep, boss.” says Anne. “Yep, man.” says Zach.  “Okay people let’s get to work. I will be going to the second floor, while you guys be here in the first floor. After I finish, I’ll come down and we will meet in this shop.” says William as he gets reloads his shotgun, flamethrower and pistol. He then gets out of the shop and uses the staircase on his right. He then hides behind a wall and looks at the area in front of him. He spots no one and cautiously moves forward maintaining that he does not make much of a noise, and that he is protected by his friends who are downstairs also patrolling the first floor for soldiers to kill. William then hides behind a bench and actively tries to locate enemies. He still does not see anyone and moves forward. He then takes a risk and moves back and goes inside a shop. He takes a risk, but turns out to be a wise one. As he goes inside the shop it turns out that there was a soldier who was crouched behind the other side of the bench and was looking at the other direction. William goes prone and knocks from the other side of the wall. The soldier hears it and quickly enters the shop from the door beside the window from where William enters. William hides behind a table and he prepares his knife in his hand. He then takes a pen and throws it towards the wall. The soldier looks behind to investigate the noise and quickly gets killed by a stab in the neck by William. He then drags the body and keeps it behind the table. He then searches for the body for supplies but does not find any medical supplies. He then searches his pockets and finds three pistol bullets and five revolver pistols. He then searches his shirt pocket and finds a key. He takes it and proceeds to move out of the shop and carefully move to the other section of the second floor Meanwhile, Anne and Zach are down stairs and have a killed two men. The first one was killed when Anne spotted a soldier standing near the rails of the mall, and she quickly pulled him back and stabbed him and then disposed the body in the washroom, which was behind her. The second one was killed by Zach when he went inside a medical shop to take a water bottle. Zach had carefully gone inside the shop and had maintained his silence. He reached the water bottle area and had taken his drink. He then went to throw in the dustbin but noticed a soldier who was coming towards the shop. He keeps the bottle with himself and then goes behind to the manager’s office. The soldier then enters all armed and also looks around for some medical supplies, and finds plenty. He then takes out his bag and quickly takes in one first-aid kit. Meanwhile, Zach was seeing the entire thing through a small window in the door. He then very silently opens the door, and quickly rushes for the soldier. The soldier listens to his footsteps and turns around, but it was a little bit too late. Zach then takes out his dagger and stabs it in the soldier’s head and then drags the body into the manager’s office and keeps it there. Anne meanwhile spots a soldier who is walking towards the opposite direction. She tails him and then the soldier goes inside a shop. Anne tails him and she also enters the shop. When she enters the shop, she gets grabbed by a hand and that is that of the soldier she was tailing, he drops his gun and then goes on to choke Anne. What he does not realize is that Anne still had her knife in her hand. Anne uses her wits and struggles to break free from the soldier’s grasp. She then takes a big gulp of air and after a few seconds drops on the ground. The soldier then searches her body for any supplies. At that moment, Anne gets up and stabs the soldier in the stomach. He is about to scream but Anne puts her palm around the soldier’s mouth and then he drops dead. She then gets up from the ground, and is a little bit frightened. She then does a small celebration and gets up from the floor, and then searches the soldier’s body for supplies. She finds sniper bullets and shotgun bullets along with one smoke grenade. She takes all of those and keeps it in her bag. She then looks around and does not find any soldiers patrolling the area. She then drags the soldier’s body and puts it in the washroom of the store. She then silently returns to the storage room of the clothes store and sees that Zach is already there in the store. “Where’s William?” asks Zach? “I think he is still in the second floor, let’s get him.” says Anne. “Okay. Let’s go.” agrees Zach. Zach and Anne make their way to the second floor, but make one last survey of the floor before going up. On the second floor, William is cornered by three soldiers who are readily advancing on his location. He throws a plastic bottle to make a distraction. One soldier goes to find the cause of the noise but then returns to the rest of the soldiers. Once they enter the shop where William is hiding, they split up and search the entire shop, from the storage room to the washroom and even the manager’s office. William takes this situation as an advantage and goes for the soldier who went towards the toys section of the shop. He quickly sneaks his way to the soldier and grabs hold of him. He then takes out his knife and stabs in the soldier’s neck and leaves his body over there. William then throws a book, over to the dead soldier’s body and the two remaining soldier’s rush to the area. One of them notices the body and informs the other one and both of them get all scared and get highly alerted. They now decide to stay together. After a short while, they again split up and William goes to kill the second soldier. William kills the second soldier exactly like the first soldier; he grabs hold of him, but he does not stab him but choke him. He does this for so that the last soldier gets alerted and rushes towards him so that he kill the final one. William then goes to hide, and sees the soldier rush toward the newly dead one. William then goes to grab him, but the soldier takes out his knife and stabs William in the hand.  William then stubbles back and falls on the floor. He then goes to take out his gun but the soldier stops his hand from reaching by pressing it down with his foot. With both hands taken out, William now stares into the soldier’s gun as it is pointed straight at him. William then goes for his gun but the soldier then presses his foot on William’s hand. William’s feels to scream but does not and keeps his mouth shut. Then the soldier looks at William and says-“Rest in peace my enemy, or should I say; rest in pieces.” And then he pulls the trigger.  CHAPTER 11:-  The trigger is pulled but no bullets are fired, both of the men are surprised. William thinks quickly and he pushes the soldier away with his legs. He then runs to the bookstore and crouches behind the cashier’s desk. He thinks that he should bandage himself, but has no energy to do so and cannot move his arms to a great extent. He decides that the only way he can escape is by sneaking around the soldier and killing him or waiting for help. He goes with the first one. The soldier then enters the bookstore and sees that he can’t find his enemy. He then realizes that if he is seen, his adversary can sneak around and escape, instead he also crouches and goes into stealth. William now sees that his enemy has also chosen his tactics. He then decides that he will have to sneak around and escape and if he gets the chance he will kill his opponent. William decides to lure his enemy into a trap, which will then ultimately end with either of them dying. He throws books around the store. The soldier follows the books, but not from the trail of books, the place from where they are thrown. He follows the trajectory but sees that his adversary is not there. He then searches the entire store but does not find William. After a while he thinks to himself-“Where has this i***t vanished?” and after that he sees a shoe. He sees this as an opportunity to finish his enemy once and for all. He reloads his gun, twice, to prevent his enemy from escaping him again. He carefully makes his way, and sees that he is not being followed from behind. He is exactly in the opposite direction of his opponent. He sees the shoe move and quickly takes out his knife and stabs the shoe. He is surprised and sees that the knife just passes through the shoe. William then pounces on him from behind and stabs the soldier’s hand, which leads to the soldier dropping his gun. But he still uses his strength to push William to the window. He then uses his last remaining strength to push William off of the store. William then flips and in turn the soldier hangs of the ledge of the mall while he holds on to William’s leg. Meanwhile, William is hanging from the window’s edge and is fighting for his dear life. William then uses his entire remaining energy to get to the window. William then looks back and sees the soldier, who is now hanging from the ledge of the mall instead of his leg. “Help me man! I’ll give you whatever you want!” says the soldier as he hangs on for his dear life. William then takes one of the soldier’s hands and holds him. “Do not move, you first give me what I want, and then I pull you up.” says William as he lightly presses his foot over the soldier’s hand, taking his revenge in the fullest. “So where is your Head of Operations?” “He is in the south-west section of the mall!” shouts the soldier. “Why did you kidnap and hide that man?” asks William.                                                                                                 “Boss wanted some files from that guy and wanted to question him about those files. After that he would have set him free!” says the soldier as he slowly loses his grip. “Where is your boss and where are those files?!” shouts William as he presses his foot on the soldier’s hand. “He is in the south-west section man! The files are with him! He will have the key for the locker room! Now pull me up man!” says the soldier as he screams because of the slow and painful torture he is getting from William as he is pressing his foot on his palm. “You did your s**t, now come on up.” William then pulls the soldier halfway up and then blankly stares at him. “Hey man! Pull me up, what the hell you staring at me like that?” shouts the soldier. “I just remembered something.” says William-“I just remembered that a creep just stabbed me and pressed my palm with his foot and then tried to kill me by throwing me off of the window of a mall. So what am I gonna do now? I am gonna help him.” says William as he then pulls the soldier. He is almost done climbing the parapet but then William puts more force on his hand. He then takes take out his gun and aims at the soldier’s shoulder. He then pulls the trigger and the soldier releases a devilish scream. All the soldiers who are the ground floor of the mall get alerted and start searching for the source of the gunshot. They then slowly start moving in the mall and start to look for the person who fired the round. “Now your buddies are alerted.” Said William as he puts a little bit more pressure on the soldier’s hand and then says him-“Rest in peace my enemy, or should I say; rest in pieces.” and then removes his foot from the soldier’s palm and pull his arm away from the soldier and slowly cherishes every moment as he sees his enemy fall to the ground and see blood splatter all around his body. William then goes back inside the bookstore and sits down on the floor of the bookstore and reloads his guns. He then gets back up and gets ready to fight more soldiers. He walks forward and sees Anne and Zach rush towards him. When they reach close to him, Anne shouts in a low voice-“What the hell! How in the world did you get so bloody?! And why didn’t you come down to us for backup! “ “I got stuck and two minutes before this, I was torturing a guy who did this s**t to me. And I fired the bullet so sorry for the mess.” says William. “It’s fine. We were also having a bit of a mess on deciding that we should attack or sneak. You solved it.” says Zach.  “Enough talking.” says Anne-“Will, I am gonna have to first-aid you, so you have to open your shirt and stay as calm as possible. Zach, you have to guard us, okay. Will, give Zach your backpack and weapons, he will keep them safe.” William then hands his bag over to Zach and opens his shirt. Anne then takes out the first-aid kit and looks at the wound on William’s right shoulder, and starts to dab it with an antiseptic lotion. William is agonized but keeps his cool and tries not to scream. Anne then takes out a big piece of cotton and puts it in the center of William’s shoulder. She then takes out lots of bandages and puts five on his shoulder and keeps the rest back. She then takes out a gauge and then wraps it twice around William’s shoulder and then cuts it. “Is that better?” asks Anne with a concerned look on her face. “Yep.” replies William-“Any chance that you guys have water with y’all?” asks William as he leans against a wall. “Yeah man.” Replies Zach-“Catch!” and Zach tosses the bottle to William. William then catches the bottle, and empties the whole bottle and slides it to the other side of the bookstore. He then gets up but Zach and Anne immediately stop him by saying-“You fought enough. You done whatever you could do and now you have no energy and are severely injured, so let us handle it.” William then sits back on the ground. He then looks towards Zach and asks him-“Can I at least have my pistol? You know, in case I get attacked?” “Yeah, here.” And Zach hands William’s pistol to him. Zach then looks at his wife and asks her-“You ready?” “Always.” And they both go outside the bookstore and hide behind the staircase in front of the store. Soldiers then rush in from the opposite staircase and start setting up traps. One of them throws a smoke grenade to the bookstore area and Zach tosses it back. The area where the soldier’s are standing now gets covered with smoke and the soldier’s are a bit dizzy. Anne and Zach then open fire and kill four to five soldiers. Zach then takes out his sniper gun and zooms in. He sees a soldier behind a pillar and shoots a bullet which instantly kills him and leads to a blast. He then puts the gun back and uses the shotgun. He then looks down and sees more soldiers entering the building he then throws a bomb towards them. The soldiers then look at it and scream-‘GRENADE!’ The soldiers on either side run for their life but the soldiers who were in the middle then die. He then takes out his sniper and again zooms in. He kills one soldier and then keeps the sniper back. Anne then goes downstairs on the first floor and is fighting soldiers. She is shooting them with her shotgun and is occasionally taking cover and throwing a bomb. She then throws the bomb and waits for it to detonate. It does not and then she aims for the grenade and it blasts which leads to the collapse of the area which was destroyed by the grenade. Anne then takes out her pistol and starts shooting the soldiers who are coming from the opposite direction. She then quickly switches to her shotgun and kills two with one bullet. She rushes back up as she sees that many soldiers are coming and drops a smoke grenade at the group of soldiers so that she can make her escape. Zach looks down and sees that the entire ground floor has been turned into a battleground. He then sees the smoke cloud and throws a grenade in the smoke cloud. Many soldiers die. Then a few cars come rushing in. William hears the engine’s noise and so shouts towards Zach-“How many are left?” “I don’t know these guys are just pouring in from nowhere! You have to get up and look from the window!” William then gets up from his place and looks outside. He sees that there are two jeeps. He then reloads his pistol and says-“There are around fifteen more of these guys left! You all can do it!” Zach then takes out the sniper and zooms in. He sees a third jeep entering and shoots at its wheels. The jeep loses its balance and control and comes ramming through the mall and crashes along a shop leading to a big blast killing all the soldiers inside it. Zach then goes down to the first floor and finds his wife shooting many soldiers. “How many are left?!” she shouts to Zach. “Around ten more soldiers!”  And quickly changes to his revolver and shoots a soldier. “Nine.” Replies Anne. She then shoots two bullets at one soldier and he falls dead. “Eight.” Says Zach as he shoots one soldier with his sniper. Anne and Zach both see that four soldiers are coming from the staircases at the same time. Anne then stands on the staircase and stabs the soldier. She then quickly rushes back up and sees that Zach has gone towards the other end and killed one more soldier. She then reloads her pistol and quickly runs towards the other staircase. She then stands on the other side and sees one soldier coming up. She then quickly runs and shoots him on his hand and then on his head. Zach then shoots two soldiers from the other side of the mall with his snipe rand both fall dead. Anne then goes back to her original position and kills one more soldier who was coming from the staircase. Zach then sees one soldier coming from the staircase diagonal to him and sees him throwing a bomb. “ANNE!  THERE’S A SMOKE BOMB!” BOOM! Zach then shoots the soldier with his sniper and rushes towards Anne. He rushes towards her only to find that the last soldier has her in his hand and is using her as a shield. “You move one step forward and your girl dies.” says the soldier as he moves closer towards Zach.” Now tell me, where are the files and drop your weapon.” Zach follows the soldier’s order and drops his sniper and pistol. “You too, Missy.” And Anne also drops the gun. “Now tell me, where are the files.” “I don’t know! Your boss took it from me! He has it!” shouts Zach. “Liar!” and that soldier than puts the gun a little more closer to Anne’s head-“Say the truth now! Or else she’s gonna go to Heaven!” demands the soldier as he moves a little bit closer to Zach. “I don’t know man! I really do not know! Please leave her!” screams Zach begging the soldier that he lets his wife go. “You are still lying! I am gonna give you this one last chance, where are the files!” says the soldier as he puts his finger on the trigger of the gun. “Man, I really don’t know!” cries Zach as he desperately begs the soldier to leave his wife and not kill her. “You have exhausted your chances. Now, says goodbye to your wife” The soldier then pulls the trigger and he falls dead. Zach looks at Anne and the dead body of the soldier. She then runs towards Zach and kisses him. Zach then looks behind and sees that William was standing above the staircase and had killed the soldier. Both Anne and Zach then pick up their weapons and run towards Will and hug him. Anne then kisses Will on the cheek and says-“Thanks you for saving me!” Zach then fist bumps and hugs William for saving his wife. “I am welcome.” Says a now sleepy William, who then slowly sits on the floor and leans towards the wall. “Can we all just return home now?” asks a now sleepy William. “Yes man.” Replies Zach-“I’ll just collect all the supplies I can get from these guys, and then we will go back to our house. William, Anne and Zach then go down the stairs and William sits on the backseat while Anne sits on the front seat. Zach then returns with a ton of supplies and keeps it in the trunk. He then starts the car but William then shouts-“Wait.” “What happened?” asks Zach. “We have to take those files, remember.”  Replies William. “Oh yeah man! The main reason behind this fight was just going to get forgotten. So do you know the location?” asks Zach. “Well I got a key from the soldier I tortured and he told me that the location of the files was in the south-west section of the mall. So we gotta get there.” Says William as he gets out of the car. “Okay, let’s go” says Anne as she and Zach come out of the car and lock it. William then enters the mall and takes out his phone. He then quickly opens it and opens the ‘Compass’ app on his phone. He then goes forwards and Zach and Anne follow him. He then takes a left and reaches a door. He then takes out the key and puts it inside the lock and opens the door.  It was a small office and had many drawers and a laptop. “Come on guys let’s check this place.” says William. Anne and Zach check the drawers, while William packs the laptop in his backpack. He then starts to look in the drawers. “Anyone found anything?” asks Zach. “No” replies William. “Yep” replies Anne and the men then rush to her. Anne then takes put a file, which had the letters ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ on it. Anne then opens the file to find a lot of papers and some writing. “Anne, read it out.” says William. “Okay” replies Anne, and then starts reading-“This is the collective research of Dr. Lara John and Dr. Chris Wilde. The world is now coming to an end, it is now going to face global extinction in a few days and the number of zombies around the world is multiplying. In the continents of America, there are about eighty two percent of zombies and eighteen percent of humans. In the continent of Asia there are about seventy six percent of zombies and twenty four percent of humans. In the continent of Africa there are seventy nine percent of zombies and twenty one percent of humans and in the continent of Australia there are only about thirty percent of zombies and seventy percent of humans. The world is now going to face its doomsday. As the many gases are released by the cocoons, they help the nature to heal. But now as the zombie types or changing and multiplying the gases in the cocoons is now turning poisonous. This will lead to many breathing problems and no oxygen which contributes to the death of all life on earth. The infected are severely advancing and are now learning to use small objects and using them in fights. People around the world are getting diseases, many of these can turn harmful and turn people in to infected if they come in contact with a person who recently had been touched by infected or got touched by their blood. If they are not sanitized properly, they will spread it and soon many people will turn into zombies. There is a cure being created in many areas in the world. If you find this file, bring it to your nearest military zone and let them transfer it to the different military zones around the world. So what am I supposed to do with it? Give it to the military and then return back home?” asks William. “Yep, you then have to return home or you can come back to us and spend some time and go back. We will be always open to you as you helped us.” says Anne. “Okay I got this but can we now go back to the car and get some sleep.” says William. “Yeah let’s go.” says Zach as he walks out of the room and takes the car keys out. Anne and William then follow Zach and reach to the car. William then looks at the time and sees it’s almost midnight and that they have been over here for over three hours. They then open the car, and William gets in the backseat. Anne gets in the front seat and Zach gets in the driver’s seat. He then starts the engine and then they drive away. On the way back William doses off. Anne and Zach then talk with each other and Anne says-“He is a nice guy, right?” “Yeah, a pretty nice guy.” says Zach. “If you know, he just came with his son and daughter and asked us for help. In return I asked him for first-aid kits and he happily gave me one big one. He then came inside and put his children to bed. He talked with me and then suddenly I got those panic attacks about why you were not returning. And then he helped me, drove me to the mall then we found you and then because of his guns we could take down these guys and then at the end he saved my life! And now he is on his way to give one of the most secret documents to the military. He is one heck of a brave and courageous guy.” “Yeah, especially when he had the strength to come down and save you and that he got to know the location of that file. He is a nice guy. Well, we reached home.” Zach then stops the car and then allows Anne to get out. She then goes inside and opens the door and presses a button. The garage then opens and Anne goes inside the house and switches on the living room and dining room lights. Zach then drives the car into the garage and closes the garage. He then takes the supplies out of the trunk and keeps them on the table. He then takes out his, Anne’s and William’s backpack and puts them on chairs. Anne carries her son, Eddie, to their bedroom and tucks him to sleep. Anne then comes down and settles Eddie’s room. She then goes back into the garage. “He is in a deep sleep, so he would not like to get disturbed.” said Zach. “So we have to carry him to Eddie’s bedroom.” says Anne. “Yep, so I’ll drag his legs and bring him to a standing position and then you take his head and I’ll take his legs. Okay.” says Zach. “Ok” replies Anne. Zach drags William’s body and puts his feet on the ground. He drags his body a bit more and then supports his body with his shoulder. Anne then closes the door. She then switches place with her husband and then supports William. She then looks at Zach and says-“Three, two, one!”  And they both lift William’s body. Zach has no physical strain on carrying William’s body but Anne has some difficulties. “Damn! This guy is heavy!” she exclaims as she carries William’s head. “Come on, Anne you can do it. We are almost there.” And then Zach opens the door and puts William’s feet on the bed. Anne then puts his head on the bed and they then put the sheets over William’s body and then the shut the door. Anne and Zach then sit on chairs and Anne opens two beers for them. Anne and Zach gulp it down after fifteen seconds of opening and then Anne puts the bottles in the trash can. She then takes out a packet of sliced bread and then toasts two. Zach takes out the butter and milk and then the eggs. He hands the eggs to Anne who then cooks them into two omelets and puts butter on the bread. She then mixes coffee powder with the milk and creates coffee. She and Zach then eat four breads each with two omelets with ketchup. They then drink one mug of coffee each. After finishing their meals, Zach cleans the table and washes the mugs while Anne washes the dishes. After they are done cleaning , Anne and Zach then change their clothes and go up to their bedroom and keep their clothes in the washing machine. They then switch off the lights and then they go to sleep.                                   CHAPTER 12:- William wakes up the next day. He gets up from the bed and looks at his shoulder. It was better than yesterday but it was still healing. He then slowly gets up from his bed and opens the door. He opens the door to see that sunshine was booming from the window. Anne was cooking, breakfast supposedly, Zach was outside on the garden and was sitting there taking in the sweet smell of the grass. Liz, Mike and Eddie were admiring Eddie’s art and were playing with him. “Good morning people.” says William in happy manner. “I think you should say afternoon, dad.” says Liz.  “Yeah, your daughter is right.” says Anne as she puts the ham on separate plates. “Is that ham I smell?” asks William in a curious and happy manner. “Yes it sure is!” replies Anne in an excited manner. “Nice, so I’ll just brush and freshen up, by the time you guys can start your meal.” says William as he goes back in his room and takes out a toothpaste packet and a brush and goes to the bathroom. William opens the bathroom, and takes off his t-shirt. He then looks at the bandaged area and washes the area with water. He then uncaps the toothpaste and puts it in his brush. He then starts brushing his teeth and he then takes a piss. He flushes the toilet and then washes his hands with soap and then quickly washes his mouth and face. He then wipes his face with a towel which was hanging behind the bathroom door. He quickly wears his t-shirt and then shuts the bathroom. He goes outside and sees that the kids were rolling in the grass and having fun. It really felt nice to him seeing that the kids were finally getting a break from the apocalyptic world and were behaving like young adults would do with ten year old kids. He then goes to Anne and asks her-“Is there any food?” “Yeah.” says Anne in a joyful manner-“I’ll just finish cooking lunch in like five minutes. By that time you can go and sit in the grass or just have fun with Zach or the kids.” says Anne and then she goes back to work. William goes outside and sees the kids playing tag. He then sits down on the front porch and look at the other houses which are near Zach’s house. He then smells the grass and flowers and goes back to his childhood when his mom and dad would plant them every month. And after three to four months of good sunlight, water and temperature the flowers would become so sweet that butterflies would roam around in his garden. He then remembers his time with his sister and his friends when they would play tag, baseball and hide and seek. He then suddenly shifts his memory eight years and is back to the time of his parents’ untimely death. He then remembers their last words-“Go run! Mom and dad will always be with you. Now run!” and William does not leave their side and tries to lift the rubble. He lifts the rubble for two seconds but then quickly falls. His mother then hands her necklace to him and his father takes out his marriage ring and tells Will-“Will we might not live with you, but that thing will be with you. It will remind you that we are always with you and that we will never leave your side. Now run son! Take your sister and run!” William then hugs his parents and kisses them. They then kiss him back and give their blessings to him. Samantha hugs and kisses her parents and also gets kissed back and gets their blessings. As the siblings run away, the mom and dad then hold each other’s hand and then close their eyes. William then runs with Sam and reaches their home. They stay there and take their parents guns and medical supplies and food and run from there. The siblings run into the woods and run for their life. On the way, Samantha gets separated from her brother. She cries for his or someone’s help but no one listens. Samantha then runs to the wilderness which is in front of her. William gets rescued and gets taken in by Jack’s father’s clan. But Samantha gets treated horribly. She reaches the other end of the woods and finds a house. She then enters the house and sees a group of men drinking and partying. She asks them for help and they gladly accept her, but only for one choice- that she will striptease for the men and becomes a p********e. Having no choice left, the thirteen year old becomes a p********e. She gets her three to four meals. Has her bath, gets everything but lives a p********e life. She then prays to God everyday that she finds her brother and can get freed from these men. Later these men take Samantha to their boss who then makes his son, the current cannibal leader, to marry her. Both of them agree and Samantha gets trained in the art of killing. After three years of living with the men and seven years with the Cannibal’s; Samantha finally decide that she will run and live in the Ground Below which was five point seven kilometers away if she used the path which went through the woods. She then packed her bags and filled it with food and two guns and ran. She was hunted by the Cannibals but was never found. After running constantly and exhausting all the food, a withered and dirty Samantha reaches the civilization and takes shelter in a building, whose top half was broken. After four days, four men come looking for supplies. They search for supplies in the building and find a young woman. They call their leader and then the leader exclaims-“This can’t be it!” and he rushes towards the woman. He then looks at the ring on her finger and asks her-“Who are you!” to which the woman replies-“I am Samantha Watts, the daughter of Mile Watts and Elizabeth Watts and the sister of William Watts.” She then looks at the leader dead in the eye and asks him-“Who are you?” The leader then replies-“I am William Watts the long-lost big brother of Samantha Watts.” And as soon as William finished the sentence, he embraced Sam and she gave him multiple kisses. William then carries Sam and takes her to Eddie. Eddie then checks up on her and says that she was sexually active for the past ten years and finds bruises all over here her back. She is then taken to William’s home and sees his wife Christine. William gives her food and asks where she has been and how did she end up here. She then narrates her entire life after she got lost and William and Christine listen to her carefully. After finishing her story, Christine says-“You got lost at that young age and had to survive, I feel really bad for you and kisses Sam on the cheek. She then gets up from the bed and leads her to the bathroom and says Sam to have a shower. Sam has her shower and comes out and sees Christine carrying a kid. Sam then goes near to the kid and asks Christine-“Is this…your kid?” “Yes.” says Christine in a happy manner. “What’s his name?” “Her name. Her name is Elizabeth. Will named her…” “After our mom?” says Sam in surprise. “Yes.” says Christine as she cradles baby Liz in her arms. “What’s her age?” asks Sam. “She is three and eleven months. She will turn four in the next month.” says Christine. “Looks like you and my brother and you have started quite a family. Since how long have you all been here?” asks Sam. “Well we moved here five years ago and had Liz four years ago.  We have practically formed a great community and have lots of families and friends who help us. Our most closest are William’s friends Lazlo and Eddie.” says Christine.  “So what does William do here?” Sam asks Christine. “I am a mercenary and a smuggler and a supply man.” says William as he walks inside the room where his wife and sister were talking. “I bring stuff from above and distribute it Lazlo who then sells it and we get an equal share. At extremely difficult times when we are at the need of stopping a mad man from looting us or to stop crime, I come in and become the cryptologist and mercenary. And if you require want to sell something or someone pr transport something or someone to different areas then I am the smuggler.” Says William as he brings a glass of water to Sam. Sam takes the glass and gulps it down. She then gives it back to William and he keeps the glasses back. Suddenly, he sees Christine and Sam fall. William hears gunshots, blood splattering everywhere and the scream of a hundred enemies. Out of the blue someone shouts to him-“Will! WILL!” William wakes up from his daydream and bolts to a standing position and looks around. He then looks at Zach and says-“What happened?” “Man I think you went in a coma state or something. I moved you then you fell to the ground and then we screamed your name and put some water. But you were just on the ground like that. Now you woke up, and Anne is calling us for lunch. So come on now, get up.” Zach then gives his hand to William and then he uses it to get up. William and Zach walk back inside the house and find Liz, Mike and Eddie sitting at the table with their plates and spoons and forks in front of them. Anne then puts all the casseroles and bowls on the table and William goes to the bathroom and washes his hands. He then comes out of the bathroom and Zach goes in. William then goes to Liz and asks her-“How are you?! You had a good sleep?” “Yeah dad! When I woke up today, it felt like I slept for ages. And then I had this weird dream in which I saw Aunt Sam and then all of a sudden she was fighting all these infected and you were there and you were also fighting. Mike was there with me carrying me to a safe place and then we all fight all the infected and then we beat all of them!” says Liz in an ecstatic, happy and joyful manner. “Looks like you had a heck of dream!” and he kisses Liz on the cheek and goes to Mike and asks him-“Hey buddy, so you had a good sleep?” “Yeah man! There was me sitting in front of a super huge T.V. playing video games and drinking beer all day and sleeping only. Man that was fine dream and then there were lots of girls and I was partying with all my friends! This was the best dream I ever had!” said Mike. “So you also had a nice dream!” says William he then whispers into Mike ear-“Stay away from my daughter.” Mike then hears only a part of it and immediately forgets what William said. William then goes to his chair and sits down. Zach comes out of the bathroom and sits on his chair and Anne then lines up all the casseroles so that when everyone comes, everyone can start eating at the same time. Anne put all the bowls and then pours the kids a glass of cold drinks while she takes out a beer bottle for the adults. Everyone then sits down and Anne serves Eddie first. She made rice, ham, chicken, beef and some salad. She then progresses to serve herself and everyone on the table. She then gets up from her chair and takes out cubes of butter from the fridge. She then tells everyone to gather their rice in the middle of their plate and she dumps one cube of butter each on the rice on everyone’s plate. Due to the temperature of the rice, the butter melts in a few seconds and everyone mixes their rice and gives it a very soft feeling. “So start the eating!” says Anne happily and everyone starts munching on their meals. William eats like an animal and Liz also eats like an animal. Mike eats some pieces of his beef first and then continues to eat the rice. Eddie eats in a civilized manner and Zach and Anne also eat like civilized people. “This is some serious gourmet stuff.” says William with his mouth almost full with food. “Thanks!” says Anne-“We never had guests in a while so this is pretty nice seeing someone at our place.” says Anne as she gives a smile. “Hey Liz!” says William-“Control your mouth! The food is not running and chew it properly.” says William. “Yeah dad! I would also like you to control your mouth while eating so that your saliva does not fly towards me!” says Liz. “People! Dad and daughter! You have the right to remain silent! I might have to arrest you for the disturbing the peace!” says Mike, laughing very hard. Everyone laughs very hard. William and Liz immediately stop arguing and laugh very hard. Everyone laughs so hard that instead of eating, they just laugh. Then the adults say everyone else and themselves to calm down and go back to eating their food. All the people munch their food in awe and delight and finish it within ten minutes while taking occasional sips of their drinks. “Anne.” Says William-“The food was delicious.” Says William as he drinks one glass of water and puts the plate in the sink. “Thanks. As I said we don’t get guests over here, except for the occasional neighbors visiting us and us visiting them.” says Anne as she takes her son’s and husband’s plate and puts it in the sink. “Anne, this is the best food we have ever had in a while, since my Aunt Sam passed away.” says Liz as she puts her plate in the sink and goes to the bathroom to wash her hands. “This is one of the best foods I have ever had in a long time! Thanks Anne.” says Mike as he puts his chair back and puts his plate in the sink. He then drinks his cold drink and goes outside and sits in the sun. “I’ll wash the dishes.” says Zach-“You did enough. Now go have fun with the kids and Will.” “Thanks Zach.” and Anne kisses Zach on the lips and goes sits on the sofa. She then puts on the T.V and starts watching movies. Meanwhile, William goes up to the room where Liz and Mike were sleeping and packs their bags. He then looks around for things that might have been missed out but puts everything in the bag. He then zips the bags and keeps them on the bed and goes down. William goes down to his room and packs his bags. He puts his guns inside, his accessories, and goes outside and asks Anne-“Do you have some bullets and food supplies?” “Yeah, go ask Zach he’s gonna tell you.” replies Anne and then Will goes over to Zach and asks him the same things. Zach replies that he has the things and to follow him. Zach washes his hands and then goes upstairs and William follows. They reach the attic, and Zach opens the door, William then gets in and holds it for Zach to get in. Zach gets in and props the door open with a big pile of cartons. He then switches the lights on and goes towards a carton. “So this is your…” “Attic and bunker, for you know huge attacks.” says Zach “So can you give me the bullets and food supplies?” asks Will. “Yeah Will, here take this.” And Zach tosses William a small box of pistol bullets. He then goes on to another box and tosses William another box which was slightly heavier than the first one. “What is this?”asks William. “Those are armor-piercing shotgun rounds.” says Zach as he tosses William one more box of shotgun shells. Zach then moves to another cardboard box and tosses William one more packet slightly heavier then the second packet and again asks Zach that what he just gave him and Zach replies- “Those are steel sniper bullets. Capable of breaking through steel without any resistance and if given in the head with a helmet, will result in immediate death. Here, take these, these are the regular sniper bullets. They are strong, but not steel strong. They are normal sniper bullets.” says Zach as he moves to another cardboard and removes it to find another cardboard box. He then picks it up and takes out a six packets of chips and juices and hands them over to Will. He then takes out a small first-aid kit and gives it to William. “You need anything else?” He asks William. “Nah, I am done. Thanks for your family’s support Zach. Stay safe, stay happy.” says William as he and Zach go down the stairs in the garden where the kids were running around and playing. William then goes to  Mike and Liz and tells them-“Come on kids, we gotta go.” And then goes into his room and brings out his bag and wears it. Liz and Mike hear it. Liz then looks at Eddie and says-“Stay safe. I will miss you, and continue your art. With good practice, anyone can be anything.” She then kisses Eddie on the lips and cheeks and Eddie tells her-“Thanks Liz. Will you come back and again play with me? Do you promise?” “I promise.” replies Liz and she goes back inside the house and goes upstairs. “Hey Eddie.” says Mike-“Stay safe. Be cool. And do your art well. This will help you in the future. And I will come back to you to play with you or we will invite you to play with us at our house.” “Ok, thanks Mike. And can you give me some more things to draw once you come back at our house again? “asks Eddie with a curious and excited look in his face. “Yep, I will return with some more pop-culture references. I’ll bring a few of my action figures, and some pictures. By that time, please do not die and live a happy life, okay?” “Okay!” and Eddie hugs Mike and then Mike settles Eddie’s hair and then goes back inside the house to get his stuff. William then goes to Eddie and says-“I do not know you a lot like Mike and Liz do, but all I have to say from my side is that you have to stay safe and continue to do your art works and become a good artist.” “Thanks Will.” And then he hugs Will and asks him-“Will you come back with Liz and Mike?” “I will it might take some time, but I will come back with them. Now let’s go inside.” says William as he then goes inside the house with Eddie and goes into his room. He then comes out of is room, wearing his bag and Liz and Mike come downstairs. Anne asks them-“You guys are leaving?” “Yep.” replies Liz. “So where are you all going right now?” asks Zach. “We are going to the military.” Replies Will. “Cool, hey there are some crazy dudes patrolling that area. I warned you, cause they run pretty fast and if you do not press the pedal to at least fifty or even forty, they will catch up with you, understand?” says Zach. “Yeah Zach. Thanks for your hospitality, both of you, and thanks for all the things we had to do last night. Stay safe” says William. “Thanks. You all stay safe too.” says Anne. Zach and Anne then hug the other guys and then they open the garage door, they get inside the car and Anne, Eddie and Zach go outside. Will sits in the front seat, with Mike beside him and keeps their bags at the backseat with Liz. He then turns on turns the engine on and drives forwards. The garage door opens and Will brings the car back on to the road. Everyone then says their last goodbyes and wave their hands and then William drives forwards and the trio then head out for the military zone which was now seventy two kilometers away.           CHAPTER 13:- “So how did you all find those files?” asks Liz. “Well we rescued Zach who was trapped in a clothes store’s storage room which had an even bigger storage room in it! We explored it and found some doors. We searched in them and found him in one of those. He told us he was handed the file by a scientist, blah-blah-blah, and that we had to find the files.” says William.  “Then what happened? You guys fought infected or other guys or cannibals?” asks Mike in an excited voice. “We had to kill some guys silently. But then I got outwitted by this one guy and he stabbed me in the shoulder, that’s why this area is red.” Says William as he points at his shoulder-”Then he had me down on the ground, stamped my left palm and then was about to shoot me but I escape a gun in my head, again. Then I run around in a bookstore. The soldier also goes in stealth mode; and then I lure the soldier by setting up my shoe as my leg. I thought that trick was not going to work at all, like seriously. Then I push the guy, over a window, I am hanging from the parapet’s ledge, I pull myself up and that guy shifts from my leg to the ledge. I interrogate his ass, torture him and get the files location and I break the promise of pulling him up and shoot him and drop him and he dies.” “Then what happened? You fought some more guys?” asks Mike in a curious voice as he sharps his knife. “After that Anne bandages me and then she and Zach fight of the remaining soldiers and they kill somewhat fifty to sixty soldiers. At the end, this one guy interrogates Zach and holds a gun against Anne. He asks for the files and was about to kill Anne but then I shoot him in the head. We then get the files and we then return home. They put me to bed and then they go to sleep.” finishes William as he looks back on the door and drives.  “You guys had quite a journey.” says Liz. “Yeah, but before leaving I saw something in your room.” says William. “What did you see, dad?” asks Liz in a scared voice. “I saw… you both cuddling!” says William in a angry but in a voice which also made him feel like a dad who’s daughter recently had a boyfriend. “Dad!” shouts Liz. “William!” shouts Mike. ‘Yes! I caught you all cuddling and then you guys were so cute! But then I can take this stuff because that’s how I got married to your mother!” exclaims William. There is an awkward silence. Mike, Liz and William all look at each other and try to figure out what just happened. Then after two minutes of dead and unnerving silence, Mike breaks the ice by saying-“So… let’s just forget that ever happened, and let’s shift to another subject. So what is your favorite food?” “Well my favorite food is pasta made in white sauce.” says William-“What’s yours?” “Well my favorite food is a double-layered non-veg supreme burger, which is filled with chicken, ham, beef and many vegetables and cheese which is all in a burger. And this was made by my mom, and was the best thing she ever made.” says Mike. “Looks like your mom was a hell of a chef.” Says Anne-“My favorite food is a chicken stroganoff.” says Anne. “So it looks like that everyone has their own taste.” says William-“So what is y’all favorite singer or band. I’ll go first my favorites are King and CDCA. And yours Mike?” “ Well I don’t listen to music, but when I do, I listen to the White Eyed Beans.” Replies Mike. “Nice band, very nice band. They had very good songs. Liz what was your favorite band?” “Well my favorite band is the Black Floyd.” replies Liz. “I remember that band. They had ten of their songs at number one! I miss the old days.” says Will while he hears parts of some songs in his head. William then looks back at the road and sees a group of crazy looking people are standing in a distance. “Mike, Liz; remember those crazy looking people Zach told us about? Well, they are here. And we gotta kill them or fool them. So keep your guns ready and don’t let them see that you both have guns. You all understand? “says William while he reloads his gun. Mike and Liz reload their guns and then hide it in their back pockets of their jeans. William then drives forward and looks at one of the crazy men and asks him-“Sir, do you know the way to the military?” “Yes, what’s the problem?” asks the man. “Well I have to take me and my kids to the military zone because their mom is in the area, and has told us to come meet her. So you know.” Replies William. “Wait let me just talk to our boss and clarify the request.” says the man. He then goes over to the booth and takes his phone and says-“Hey CJ, we got this man with his two children, asking for passing over the gate. What shall I do?” The person from the other side of the booth answers to the man and he asks them to give their ID’s. William then takes out his ID and confirms and passes through the gate, as he is halfway about to get out, the man comes back to him and asks-“Our man is asking your name, come on now, tell me.” “William Watts.” replies William. “Wait, let me just say that to our boss so that he can maintain a list of people.” And then the man goes inside the booth and confirms the name. He then comes outside and tells Will-“Look at your right.” William looks right and finds Mike’s head beside a gun, whose trigger is being held by no one other than Jack! William then looks at Liz and sees that she also has a gun at her head. He then tries to figure out a way on how to get out and looks at Jack with the windows pulled up and says-“At my mark, open the door and push it very hard.” “Pull the window down and get out of the car, or else the girl and boy gets it!” shouts Jack. William, Mike and Liz then open the door, and then they slowly open the door and bang it as hard as they can. They shoot one bullet each and one soldier out of the three dies. The other two then shoot at the glass and miss. William presses the accelerator as hard as he can then bolts through the gates. The soldiers and cannibals then get on their cars and follow him. William quickly changes seats with Mike and pulls the window down beside him. Liz then pulls up the two windows beside her. She then takes out all the guns and keeps them beside her. Liz then looks back and sees that five or six cars were following them. William then takes out his assault gun and shoots at the soldier who was shooting at them. He then puts his head back into the car, he then takes out his pistol and shoots at the front tires. The driver presses the break but ends up doing a back flip and blasts the car. “HAHA SUCKERS!” shouts William. “Nice one dad!” exclaims Liz. “FATALITY!” exclaims Mike as he looks at the explosion with the help of the mirror. William then gets back in the car and asks Liz-“How many cars are left?” To which she replies-“I can see five more! And they are gaining on us! Mike drive fast!” “Yeah ok, ok!” shouts Mike as he takes a sharp u-turn and heads in the direction of the enemy cars. Will realizes what Mike is doing and he takes out his shotgun and shoots at the tires, the cars screech and crash against each other. “Nice one Mike!” shouts William as he reloads his shotgun. “Thanks! I’ll have to take a u-turn and continue.” says Mike as he presses his foot on the break and takes a u-turn. He then puts his foot on the accelerator and continues in full speed. William then looks back and sees two more cars chasing them. Mike presses his foot on the accelerator and puts his seatbelt. William then starts to shoot at the car but can’t do it because the men inside the car continuously shoot when he brings his head outside the car. Liz then sees the open window, and she starts to shoot from the other window to the second car. She shoots the driver and he crashes the car into a light pole. “NICE LIZ!” applauds her dad, while he reloads the sniper. “Nice shooting Liz!” exclaims Mike. “Thanks guys! But can we just continue on that last car?” says Liz as she reloads her gun. Mike then looks behind from his front mirror and then figures out a plan. “Guys.” He says-“I’ll have to put the car in full speed and then slow down, they’ll catch up with us and their tires will be exposed. Then shoot them or them.” “You sure that this will work?” asks Liz, as she pulls the windows up and keeps them at mid level. “Don’t know about that, but looks like we have to just follow him.” says William as he reloads his shotgun, revolver and pistol .William looks back and sees that the other car is gaining. Mike then says the whole crew to-“BRACE FOR IMPACT!” He then suddenly presses the brakes and their car immediately comes to a stop. The enemy car whirs in front of them. Will takes out his shotgun and shoots at the tires, the tire deflate and then they quickly pulls the windows up, duck their heads and get the hell out of there. The sun is going down. William pulls his window down and stares into the sky as the warm colors of yellow, orange, red and pink slowly dissolve into the sky and are changing into black. He looks at the gigantic ball of flame and admires the gift of nature. Slowly it starts to drizzle. William turns on the wipers and continues to drive. He puts his left arm outside the window and feels the raindrops. He then brings his arm back and continues to drive. Meanwhile, Mike and Liz had fallen asleep after the car fight and had told William to wake them up if they reach somewhere safe. It had been an hour after the fight and they had gone twenty five kilometers away from the destruction that was caused. William looks at the fuel gauge and notices that the fuel is about to deplete. He picks up the pace and he notices a gas station at a few hundred meters away. He presses the accelerator and drives towards the gas station. He sees that there are two men standing there and he asks them-“Can I have some gas?” “Buddy, how much are you willing to take and pay?” asks a man. “Considering that my car requires five liters, I’ll pay you twenty five dollars?” replies William. “Can you bump it up y five bucks? From twenty five to thirty?” asks the man. “Ok, here man.” replies William as he hands out thirty dollars to the man who later hands it to the other guy who is the cashier. “Ok, come out and open the tank.” says the man who is holding the petrol. William comes out and opens the tank and the man puts the petrol pump inside it and pours it. William looks at the gas price and sees the amount of gas slowly rising from ten milliliters to two hundred milliliters and goes on. William takes the smell of petrol and cherishes it. After half a minute, the man pulls out the pump. William then gets in his car and says-“Thanks.” To which the man replies-“No problem.” and goes back to his seat. William takes his car out of the gas pump and is going out of the station but then he calls out he man and says-“Excuse me, but can you tell me on where I can stay?” “You gotta go ten to twelve kilometers straight and you will find a town, there you can find many houses. Ask anyone for a place to stay in and they’ll ask you something. Then negotiate your prices.” replies the cashier. “Thank you.” Replies William and then he drives his car on to the road from the gas station. William then checks on Liz and sees that she has curled herself and is sleeping in the fetal position. William caresses her hair and gets back to driving. After an hour or so, William sees buildings and houses. He looks outside the window and sees that the moon had risen and was shining brightly. “Hey Mike, wake up.” says William as he tries to wake up Mike, he then slowly opens his eyes and yawns. He pulls the windows down a bit and rubs his eyes. He looks forward and sees that they had arrived at some new place. “Lizzy, wake up.” says William as he tells his daughter to wake up. She continues to sleep and William tells her a second time to wake up. She wakes up and stretches her arms and legs and rubs her eyes. She takes out the bottle of water from her bag and drinks a portion of it and keeps it back. She then looks outside and sees the moon shining brightly and that buildings and houses are in front of her. “Dad, where have we reached?” she asks her father. “I don’t know; must be a city or a town.” replies William as he looks around to find a place where they can stay for the night. He looks around and finds the buildings to be deserted and not even a single light source was coming from anywhere. “Hey William.” says Mike-“Look at that house, might be someone is there?” William then turns the car and drives towards the house. They reach in front of the house and William parks the car, he then tells Mike and Liz to stay while he asks the owners of the house for shelter. William walks towards the door and knocks on it. No reply. William knocks on the door again and gets no reply, he then peeks through the window and sees infected inside the house! He quickly rushes back into the car and takes a u-turn. He quickly drives back to the road and does not stop. “Dad what happened!” asks Liz. “This area is infected! There are infected in this town! We have to find a safe place which is under ground and has supplies. William drives and notices a garage. He opens the garage and sees that there is a large space where he could park the car, and find mattresses for the three of them to sleep on. William opens the garage door and finds the place to be non-infected. He parks the car and takes his backpack and tells Liz and Mike to come out. The teens come out with their backpacks. They then look around and try to find for stuff that they can use. “Mike and Liz, come with me. We have to search this place and find stuff that we can use. So, anyone any ideas on where to start?” asks William. “Let’s search that big house” says Liz as she points towards a house which was in fact, very big. William, Liz and Mike then start walking towards the house and notice that the door was unlocked. William then slowly steps inside the house and sees that there are no lights. He takes his flashlight and so does Liz and Mike. They turn on their flashlight and start to investigate in the house.  They go inside the house and see that there is no one. They then lock the door, and hear scratching sounds. “Dad, there can be infected here?” says Liz. “We gotta fight them and search for supplies.” replies William-“There’s no other place that is as big as this house and so close to our spot.” “Fine.” Replies Liz and she reloads her shotgun. Mike reloads his pistol and takes out a few arrows and aligns it with his bow. They then proceed with caution and find a Piercer standing right beside them in the next room. Mike shoot an arrow at the zombie’s head and it falls down without making a sound. “Nice aiming, Mike.” Whispers Liz. “Thanks. You guys wait here, I’ll take my arrow back.” Replies Mike. He goes inside the room and takes the arrow out of the Piercer’s head and again nocks it on his bow. Mike then returns back to his crew and they continue their search. The crew spots a Grounder, and William silently goes forward and goes behind it and catches his neck, William then puts immense pressure and cracks the neck of the Grounder who then falls on the ground. William then wipes his hands out on the wall and they go upstairs. There was a Destroyer. He was a massive seven feet tall monster, which had two very large fists and feet which could destroy anyone and anything which came near it. “Should we take it?” asks Mike. “We should leave.” replies William. They then start to go down but the infected notices the light of Liz’s flashlight. He looks behind and sees them! The destroyer lets out a cry, and then starts going towards them. He walks at them and comes towards them. Other grounder s and piercers were also coming towards them. Mike takes out his arrows and shoots at two infected. One falls down and dies while the other loses a limb. He then puts his bow and arrows back and he starts using the assault rifle. He shoots at the Destroyer, but nothing happens. Liz takes out her shotgun and starts to shoot the Grounders and Piercers which were coming up towards them. William takes his pistol out and shoots at the smaller zombies and kills them. Suddenly, more infected start coming in and two Crushers come and join the fun. Will tries to think of a way to destroy these zombies and comes up with a plan. He reaches for his shotgun and fills it with armor piercing rounds. He puts all the other weapons back and goes for one full canister of flamethrower ammo. He opens the cap, and then shouts-“LIZ, MIKE PUT YOUR HEADS DOWN AND RUN TO THE OTHER ROOM!” Liz and Mike run inside the room but Mike gets scratched by two infected on the way but does not feel anything. The kids then shoot a few bullets and then William throws the canister and says-“GOODBYE SUCKERS!” he opens the door and leaves it open. He shoots at the canister and the entire group of infected blast into a big group of candles. The teens then run out of the room and run outside the house and let the infected inside the house to burn. They scream and shout and run around like maniacs inside the house. After two minutes of feeling like a roasted chicken, the infected die and fall on to the ground; fully black and crisped. William, Liz and Mike then enter the house and see the pile of zombies lying in front of the door. They then go in every room and search for supplies and find lots of ammo and food but sadly no medicines. They then go up and find four large mattresses and sheets and carry one each. The crew then put all the supplies in their bags and carries one mattress, one pillow and one sheet each. When they reach the garage, William puts his stuff on the ground and opens the garage. He then holds it while they put his things inside and close it. Liz and Mike then put their stuff on the floor and put their backpacks in the car and lie on the mattress. William settles his things and puts his bag inside the car and keeps the keys with him. He sits on the mattress and takes his shoe of. He drinks half a bottle of water and takes out a book and reads and turns to the other side. Liz takes her phone out and starts playing games on it while Mike takes out his arrows and starts sharpening them. After a while, William switches of the light and says-“Come on guys, time for bed.” Liz put her phone in her pocket and Mike puts his arrows in his bag and keeps his bow beside him with his knife in his pocket. William then goes to his daughter and says-“Good night.” And kisses her on the head and caresses her hair. “Good night dad.’ Replies Liz and then she takes the sheets and goes to sleep. William then looks at Mike and says-“Good night M.” “Good night to you too, W.” replies Mike. The both then laugh and take their sheet and go to sleep.                                                     CHAPTER 14:- AHHHHHHHHHHH! Mike hears a scream at night and then gets up from his sleep, he thinks that it was just in his mind but he hears one more scream. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Mike now gets terrified and tries waking up Liz but finds her fast asleep. He then tries to wake up William but he does not even move a little bit. Mike then gets up from his bed and takes his backpack and bows. He then takes out a sheet of paper and writes the time on his watch and writes the following words-“I went out to find supplies, if I am not back in an hour. Take the car and come to the shop which is just beside the house. I will be there.” and he puts the sticky note on the car’s window and opens the garage door. He looks around to locate the scream but does not find the person who was screaming or anyone else on the road. Mike then walks towards the shop which was beside the house and notices two men come out of the shop. One of them was wearing a black jacket while the other was wearing a dark blue jacket. He quickly hides behind a dustbin and listens to their conversation. “Boss, told us that there are supplies over here. And that some guy with two children can also come. So we have to be aware of that guy and find ammo, food and medicines.” says the man wearing the black jacket. “But what if the man arrives here and starts to kill us? Then what are we going to do?” asks the guy in the blue jacket. “For those kind of situations, boss gave us these.” And the man in the black jacket takes out a big suitcase and takes out one grenade launcher, one sniper, two machine guns and ten bulletproof vests. “Boss seriously is armed to the teeth for this guy, right?” asks the man in the blue jacket. “Yeah, looks like this guy is a mercenary of some sorts. Let’s see how he survives with weapons like this!” “Yeah, but let’s keep this stuff inside before anyone comes; I am having a feeling that someone is with us.” replies the man in the blue jacket. “Yeah, let’s keep these inside.” And the two men then wear their vests and carry the items inside the shop. Mike slowly then looks inside the shop and finds no one inside it except for those two guys. He then takes two arrows out and aims it at the two men. He then runs in front of them and releases the two arrows which hits one in the head and the other in the leg. The soldier then takes out a gun and fires at Mike but it touches his bag and then Mike kills the soldier with his knife. The other men inside the building get alerted and start searching for the source of the gun shot. Mike then takes the sniper and puts the bullets inside it and runs to the other side of the shop. He takes the grenade launcher and puts it in the house where he killed the infected and puts the entire suitcase there. He then aims the sniper and puts it back and takes his bow out. Mike then goes to the roof of the house and finds the sniper on the other buildings. He does not find him and finds an enemy who was carrying a gun.  Mike takes his bow out and aims at the man. He aims at the man’s back. He then falls down and Mike comes down from the roof and hides his body. He then hides behind a wall and sees that there are almost seven men surrounding the building. Mike goes back on the roof and fires an arrow at the enemy who was the furthest from all the other men. Mike then comes down and goes back to the garage and opens the garage. He then wakes up Liz and she then says-“What happened?” “I found us some huge weapons, okay? But then there are these men who are now finding us. They have already been alerted and are finding us and it will just be a couple of seconds until they find us. So we have to fight them, you ready?” “Okay, I’ll wake up dad…” “Don’t, they are armed with guns and he is already injured a few more hits to his body and he will die. Do not bring him; I do not want to see anyone die. Take your shotgun and pistol and lock this door. Let no one come in and keep your phone in silent mode. We have to sneak and kill these guys, then bring all the equipment they have over here and then we can tell him the entire stuff tomorrow morning. Okay?’ “Okay. So, let’s go.” replies Liz as she takes her weapons and backpack and her knife. Mike opens the garage door and Liz slips under it, and holds it for him so that he can come out. Mike comes out and then Liz slowly puts the garage door down. Mike and Liz then silently move and hide behind a dustbin. Liz reloads her shotgun and Mike looks for any enemies. They both enter the shop where the soldiers had out dock and see that they had hanged two women and one man and stripped of their clothes and were beaten. Their flesh was then ripped out and they were left hanging. Mike then goes forwards and searches for any ammo and finds three pistol bullets and four shotgun bullets along with two arrows. He takes them and gives the shotgun bullets to Liz and takes the rest of the things for himself. “Hey, there’s one guy coming.” whispers Liz. Mike then looks forward and sees a guy walking towards them. Mike nocks an arrow on his bow and releases the string. The arrow goes flying and then it hits the man who falls on the ground, with blood oozing all around him. Mike slowly proceeds towards the man’s body and tells Liz to-“Keep an eye out.” He then goes forward and looks around for more. He does not find any and then he pulls the arrow out of the dead man’s body and proceeds to sneak. Liz then follows him and she walks behind Mike, who is now hiding behind a wall. He then looks in front of them and sees no one and proceeds to move forward. “Hey, throw a smoke bomb over there, I think I saw a shadow.” says a man who is standing behind a wall. A smoke grenade rolls in and Mike goes forward to throw it. He throws it and the smoke bomb detonates in the air and Mike shoots the soldier who ordered the bomb throwing. He then quickly changes to his bow and shoots the other soldier in the chest and then shots another one in his head and then he falls on the ground. Mike quickly goes to his body and finds one usable arrow out of the two and then he returns to Liz. “Looks like these guys have heavy armor.” says Liz as she looks at the damage Mike caused. “Yeah, but we gotta finish all the other guys before they come to attack us.” replies Mike as he takes out an arrow and nocks it at his bow. Liz then looks around and then whispers-“Mike, there is a guy going up there. He looks like a sniper, want to shoot him?” “Don’t want to shoot as he has the high ground and can easily knock us out and then kill us. The better option is to silently kill him and then kill al the other guys from his area.” “Nice idea. But we have to be really, really sneaky.” replies Liz as she puts her shotgun back and reloads her pistol. “Let’s do it. If you find anyone who is totally of guard, kill him immediately and do not hesitate. If there is no one, choke him or knife him. If someone is coming, then quickly knife your target and hide in the opposite direction s that you can then attack them. If there are two people coming either side, then hide behind something or drop a smoke bomb and run as fast as you can. You understand?” “Yes.” replies Liz as she takes out a smoke bomb and nail bomb and puts each of them in her pockets. “Good, now let’s go.” Mike and Liz then go out of the building and start their killing spree of the many soldiers and that of the sniper. Mike silently chokes a guy while Liz stabs him in the hip and he paralyzes. The both then hide behind a wall and proceed to move forward, they see a soldier who is talking with another and quickly bolt right past them. They then hide behind a door and see that they are now four buildings away and had crossed two buildings. Mike sees a soldier walking towards them, and says Liz to-“Stop and hide.” Liz hides behind a wall and Mike crouches and slowly walks out. He sees the man, taking a drink from his beer and then shoots at his head. The man falls dead and the beer bottle smashes on the floor and the liquid just flows everywhere and mixes with the dead man’s blood. The other soldiers get alerted by the sound and start moving towards the source and find the soldier dead.  They then close his eyes and put his gun in his shirt and start finding the killer. “Don’t you think that it is a really good time to use our shotguns and pistols instead of bows and knifes?” asks Liz as she takes her shotgun out. “Yeah, but be careful and one bullet per enemy. Also aim properly and mark your shots.” Replies Mike as he puts his bow back and takes out his pistol and revolver. “We’ll go out in three…two…one, and…” “Now” replies Liz and she goes head on with the soldiers she hides behind the wall and kills two soldiers with two bullets and then switches to her side arm, which is her pistol. Mike then comes out from the other wall and starts shooting the soldiers. Two soldiers fall down and then die of excessive blood loss. There are five soldiers left and all of them are hiding behind walls, Liz then throws a smoke bomb over to their side and kills one man as he reveals his head for air. Mike quickly changes to his bow and shoots an arrow which hits a soldier in the arm and then he shoots a bullet at his chest. The soldier falls down and another soldier fires a bullet which hits Mike in the arm, but it does nothing to him, as he was wearing a heavy cloth under that specific area. “I knew it!” exclaims Mike, with excitement and joy. “What you knew?” asks Liz. “That wearing this cloth under my clothes just won’t save me from enemy fire, but it will also help me maintain a steady arm. Also be careful, they are firing with expanding bullets?” replies Mike as he warns Liz about the bullets. “What are those?” asks Liz. “As soon as they come in contact with you they expand and give a greater damage. Also these specific bullets are coated with Leiptalf, which is the highest expanding element discovered. So they will give you an even more damage.” Replies Mike. “So the main thing is don’t get hit?” asks Liz as she shoots a bullet. “Yes! Now let’s finish of these remaining bozos!” and Mike then rushes forwards and shoots three bullets from each gun and fatally damages the soldiers he then runs back and Liz comes forward and shoots one armor piercing bullet and kills two men. She is then about to click the trigger but the man shouts and says-“I surrender!” Mike and Liz walk to the soldier and then hold a gun to his head and Liz asks him-“Why are you over here?” “Boss sent us to find supplies for our clan and that he is searching for these two kids who are travelling with an old man? They don’t happen to be you right?” replies the man. “Who is your boss?” asks Liz as she pulls her finger close to the trigger. “c***k Jack!” replies the soldier-“My boss is c***k Jack.” “Is he here?” asks Mike as he puts his pistol in the soldier’s neck. “No! He is at our base camp at the gates which are about twenty five kilometers away from here! He had no plans of coming here as he knows that there are infected over here.” Replies the soldier as his face becomes red with heat , the tension of two bullets towards his head and that he is giving his clan’s plan away. “We have one final question to you, and that is that how many for your guys are here?” asks Mike as he pins his gun a bit closer towards the soldier’s larynx and lightly presses it. “There are about twenty to thirty guys left, and they are all waiting for you around the next three buildings and are not moving from their place. As soon as they see you they will open fire and kill you both in a matter of seconds.” Replies the soldier as his body now shakes. “You have any plan how to get past them?” asks Liz. “You can go up this exact building and make a jump to the other building and then go down. They will not see you because they did not put their search and investigation in the floors above the ground and first floor. So escaping from here can be easy if you just take a rope.” replies the soldier. “Who has the rope?” asks Mike as he puts the gun even closer to the soldier’s larynx and he sees the soldier flinch a bit. “You see that guy, who is lying with his back on the floor; he has the rope. Just flip his body and check, you’ll see that he has one in his jacket.” replies the soldier. Mike then hand his gun to Liz and then goes towards the dead soldier’s body and flips him around. He then opens his jacket and finds a huge rope. “Do you know someone else who has more ropes?” asks Liz. “Well of course I know him, that man is me.” Replies the soldier as he opens his jacket and takes out another rope from his jacket. Mike then ties the two ropes together and creates a very huge one. He then finds a hook which was very fortunate for them and Mike ties the rope along the hook and throws it to test its durability. “So, as we might kill you now; give us all your weapons.” orders Liz. “I have to give all my weapons to you? Seriously?” asks the man as his face gets full with tension and anxiety. “Yes.” replies Mike and the soldier than takes out his gun and then gives it to Liz. “We all know that you have a knife, dagger or a second gun because no one roams this world without a second weapon; so just hand it to us now.” says Mike as he takes the ammo out of the soldier’s gun and throws it away. “Well yes.” Replies the soldier and he strikes the ground with his knife and puts his gun on the ground beside the knife. Mike then picks those up and keeps the knife in his pocket and throws the gun away after taking the ammo inside it. “So, now as I have answered all your questions and given what you have asked; now you can just go ahead and kill me.” replies the soldier proudly as he gets up from the ground and stands with an eye to eye level with Mike. “Are you serious?” he asks the soldier in a shocked state-“You did not fight back or anything you had no tricks up your sleeve and that now you just want to get the sweet release of death?” asks Mike as he looks at the soldier dead in the eye. “Yes, I have nothing to fight for and that you can just kill me. And even if you don’t, I will have to return to my Head of Operations and get killed. So it’s better if I die at your hands.” replies the soldier “For your exceptional bravery and service towards us we grant you the service to live on… or however that is said.” Says Liz as she looks at Mike. “You are letting me go?” asks the man in an astonished state. “Yes, it’s because that this is the first time that we have not been tried to get killed or been hurt by someone. So we allow you to go away from this town. Totally dispatch yourself from Jack’s clan and then you can start a life of your own.” replies Liz. “Thank You!” replies the soldier as he goes towards Liz and hugs her. He then gets away from her and says to both of them that-“Thank you, my dear friends, who I will remember forever. Thank you for giving me a new start.” and then the soldier then runs of in the opposite direction of all the mess and he then disappears in the dark. “Did you really give him another chance?” asks Mike. “Yes.” replies Liz-“He was like us, he might have been a few years older, but he was definitely like us. He was like twenty two or three. Now imagine killing someone who had to spent a life in the mad man’s clan. He would also have a dream of having a girlfriend, marrying her and having kids and then grow old and die a happy life.” replies Liz as her eyes get a bit watery. “Yeah you are right. Right by also giving that guy a chance. Now let’s go and climb this building and kill the remaining soldier’s left.” replies Mike as he reloads his pistol and revolver. “Yeah, let’s go kill those idiots.” replies Liz and then they start climbing the building’s stairs.  CHAPTER 15:- After ten to twelve minutes of running and walking and jogging, Liz and Mike finally reach the terrace of the twenty floor building. Liz then looks at her watch and sees that the time is twelve thirty five and that a new day has already begun. Mike then moves the rope in circles and at the maximum speed he throws it. He creates a tightrope between the two buildings and then turns towards a panting Liz and says-“Ladies first?” “Hell no! This is your idea and you are gonna go first. I’ll then come after you.” replies Liz as she looks at the ground below here and gets a slight feeling of vertigo. “Okay, I’ll cross this area and then you cross it okay. If you cannot cross it then you gotta use the rope and then use it from the lower floors and then use it to cross it.” “I’ll cross now, so don’t shout or do anything that makes me lose my balance and die.” replies Mike as he gets ready to cross the building. “Mike, wait!” shouts Liz and Mike gets back from the rope and Liz then leans towards Mike and kisses him. She kisses and hugs him and then says to him-“You kiss well.” “You kiss even better.” replies Mike. He then steps on the rope and gets ready to cross. Mike puts his right leg and then slowly starts to cross the building. Mike crosses about twenty five percent of the rope and feels that he is starting to lose his balance. He then slowly and very slowly starts to drag himself along the rope. He reaches half of the rope and feels that he could slowly fall and die. He continues to look forward and slowly crosses the rope while he closes his eyes. Mike then slowly feels his feet leave the ground and touch against another surface and he slowly opens his eyes and sees that he has reached the other end of the building.  He then climbs to the other building and then waves at Liz and shouts-“NOW YOU CROSS!” Liz then slowly climbs the rope and sees that she is doing it pretty well. She then slows down and follows the exact same thing that Mike did. She then crosses half of the rope and slowly moves along the rope. She crosses more than half of the rope and is about to reach the end, but then she suddenly losses her balance and hangs on her two hands. “LIZZZ! TAKE MY HAND” “NO WAIT! I can do this!” Liz then slowly starts to hang and move towards the building at the end, she gives her hand to Mike and then he pulls her up. “Looks like you had to keep on fighting, and that bought you a long way.” Says Mike as he hugs Liz. “Yeah it bought me a long way, and we still have one more large building to cross.” Replies Liz as she then breaks away from the hug. “Yeah, we have this last building and then we are done and we have to find that sniper.” Replies Mike as he pulls the rope back and then slowly pulls it back from the other building. Mike then wraps the rope on the ground. He then spins the rope and throws it on the other side of the building but it does not reach the other end. He then pulls the rope back and looks at the other side and then goes closer to the end of the building and then he spins the rope once again and throws it. The rope then reaches the building and then Mike fits the rope tightly on their side of the building. Mike then goes first and then easily crosses the building without any difficulty and looks at Liz and then waves at her and says that it is her turn on the cross. She then slowly steps her foot on the rope and then crosses the road exactly as the way she did before. But when she reaches the middle of the rope, she feels her balance losing and then the rope then breaks away from the rope and she hangs on the rope with her feet landing on the building. “AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!” shouts Liz as she hangs from the rope. Mike then looks at her from above and says her-“Liz, you have to rock climb this thing out. You have to maintain a steady grip while I pull you up. While I pull you up you have to walk along the building, okay?” “FINE! PULL ME UP NOW!” screams Liz as she hangs for her dear life. Mike then pulls her up and Liz starts walking on the glass of the building she looks up and does not look down and tightly grips the rope. She walks up with all her might and power and so does Mike as he pulls the rope up. Liz then reaches the sixteenth floor and looks up towards Mike and says-“Mike pull me up fast! I am losing my grip and balance!” Mike pulls up and realizes that pulling someone up is not a easy as seen in the movies but he continues to persevere and slowly starts to feel like that his bones were breaking and that his muscles were about to stretch and torn. On the other hand, Liz is fighting for her life and trying not to slip and fall down. She uses her strength, or whatever is left in her to pull herself up and that she can safely climb up. She does the mistake of looking down and then screams to Mike that say to ‘pull me up fast’ or ‘I am about to lose my grip’ or something which is horrifying and does make someone feel like that they are saving someone who is not falling from the building but the Grand Canyon. They climb the eighteenth floor and Liz looks up and sees the stars and moon. She feels like that she could touch it but then gets in her senses and tells herself that-‘you are dying and all you want to is stargazing? Pull yourself up Liz, and fight for your life!’ She listens to the inner angel in her voice and she slowly starts to pull herself up. Mike is pulling the rope like he is having a tug of war contest with gravity and if gravity wins, Liz will die. He then pulls with all his might and sees that he is also nearing the end of the terrace. He then shouts to Liz-“ON WHICH FLOOR HAVE YOU REACHED!” “I AM ON THE NINETEENTH FLOOR! JUST ONE MORE FLOOR AND THEN WE ARE DONE!” replies Liz as she looks down and sees that they are way above the ground, than they were. She then looks up and sees that she is about to reach the terrace and that if she could get pulled up a little more and that she can jump on to the ledge. She walks towards on the building and then runs and Mike pulls the hardest as he can. Liz then reaches the end of the twentieth floor and runs and puts her hands on the ledge. Mike puts the rope down on the ground and buckles it and gives his hand to Liz and pulls her up. Liz then picks up the rope and looks at Mike and gives her the biggest and longest kiss ever she has given to someone. They both cherish that they could make it this far and that they did not die. Mike then pulls the rope back and puts it in his bag and takes out a bottle of water and gives it to Liz. She drinks half of it and Mike drinks half of it. He then keeps the bottle in his bag and takes out his pistol and keeps it in his pocket and Liz takes out her shotgun. They both then open the door and slowly go inside it and find the sniper. They both go down the stairs and check on the twentieth, nineteenth and eighteenth floor but find no sign of the sniper. They then go down the fourth of flight of stairs and listen to someone. They slowly proceed with caution and find that there is a soldier who was aiming a sniper behind the window. Mike then decides that he will slowly sneak but decides not to and aims his bow; he then slowly ever so slowly walks exactly a few feet behind the man, and is ready to shoot, but hears voices. Liz and Mike silently go up and hide behind the walls and keep their guns in their hands. They then eavesdrop on the sniper and hear him saying-“There are these two teenagers who killed about fifteen of our guys. You think you can spot them from here, and shoot them in the legs? No right, I can! And that’s why I was hired for the job and not you bozos because you’ll could have blown it all up. So, let the pro handle it and don’t disturb him.” “Yeah, yeah, but if you call yourself a pro, you better snipe those kids down before they kill our men.” replies the other soldier and then he walks away. Mike then takes this opportunity and goes down and slowly nocks an arrow on his bow. He then pulls his bowstring back and then shoots at the sniper’s head and that guy instantly falls down. They then drag his body and keep throw it down of the building and hope that no one notices it. Mike then gets on the sniper and then aims at the soldiers who are the furthest from them. Mike pulls the trigger and a loud ‘boom’ is heard along with the bullet, which then spins in its trajectory and hits its target. “Yes!” exclaims Mike as he sees that the first soldier instantly went down. “Hey Liz, you gotta keep an eye out for soldiers who will be coming upstairs to fight us. Here take my bow and arrow and bullets, and it use sparingly. I’ll keep the knives to myself in case I get attacked and I am going to take down as many of those soldiers as I can.” says Mike as he gives his bullets, arrows and bows to Liz and keeps his backpack on the ground. He then reloads a bullet and zooms in from the sniper and sees that people already got alerted from the sniper shot and are trying to figure out that from where the bullet came. Mike fires another bullet and it hits a soldier straight in the chest and he falls down like a sack of potatoes. He then reloads the gun and fires another bullet which very slightly misses a soldier leg. Mike reloads the gun and then again shoots at the soldier and he gets hit in the neck and he drops dead on the ground. Meanwhile, William wakes up from all the commotion and looks beside him to see that the kids are not there. He opens the car and takes his backpack and guns and locks the car. He then looks around for a lock and finds one on a table inside the garage. He then finds its key beside it and then he wears his shoes, reloads his flamethrower and shotgun and then pulls the garage door up and locks it. William then takes his phone out and calls Liz. The phone goes ringing and ringing. Then after thirty seconds Liz picks up the call and says-“Yeah dad?” “Where are you?!” shouts William as he gets a huge feeling of anxiety taking over him. “We are the in the building where there is a sniper. We are the ones firing it. So, you have to be a careful while going. We will also try and not to mistake you as an enemy.” “Fine, I am coming. But whichever soldier fires at me I’ll fire at the them so that you dare mistake me for a soldier, is that right?” asks William as he gets his face full of tension. “Yeah dad, now come here. We are sixth building away from the garage and we are on the seventeenth floor. Now hurry dad!” shouts Liz as she cuts the call. William then looks at his destination and starts running. Meanwhile, Liz sees two soldiers coming and she shoots them with her pistol and then reloads them. She then hide behinds a wall and peeks to see that if any soldiers were coming to attack them. She then says-“Mike! My dad is coming and I have really no clue about if we are going to get loved or hated. Also, can you shoot these soldiers a bit faster so that they don’t all pile up over here?” “I am trying my best over here!” shouts Mike as he reloads the sniper and then aims. Mike keeps his hand steady and then he shoots at a soldier who was hiding a behind a building and he falls dead with blood all around him. Mike then reloads the gun and sees that soldiers were entering the building and that someone was fighting against the soldiers. “Liz! Is that your dad?!” asks Mike in a surprised and questionable manner. “Yes that is my dad! Now concentrate on shooting the soldiers.” Shouts Liz as she takes her shotgun out and fires a bullet at a soldier and he falls dead and rolls over from the stairs. On the other hand, William is fighting soldiers with whatever he can get his hands on. He is throwing plastic bottles and stunning them, or he is throwing empty boxes or even books and garbage bags which are lying on the ground. He then shoots a bullet at the heads of the soldiers who then fall on the ground dead or have the life but not the strength and energy. For these soldiers, William takes his leg and then stomps it on their face and then even their head starts bleeding and then they die of severe blood loss. William sees a gang of soldiers running away and he picks up the pace with them and he take out his flamethrower. He then ignites the soldiers on fire. The soldiers than move in circles and then they come up with taking their clothes out. But sadly, they think about it a bit late and they slowly get burns on their skin and they die. Liz then sees five soldiers coming, three from the left staircase and two from the right one. She then takes out a smoke bomb and tosses it in the middle of the stairs. The bomb rolls over there and then blasts. BOOM The soldiers get stunned and they feel dizzy. Liz then takes out her revolver and fires at the enemies on the left. They fall dead and roll over from the stairs and then she shoots the other two soldiers standing on the right staircase. The soldiers don’t fall and Liz then quickly changes to her shotgun and fires two armor piercing rounds at them. She then goes towards the soldiers and takes their bulletproof vests and she gives one to Mike and says-“There are making some heavy improvements in their armor! Here take this!” and Liz throws Mike a bulletproof vest and he wears it on his shirt. Liz also wears it and then she reloads her shotgun and her pistol and then she again hides behind the wall while Mike shoots down soldiers. Mike zooms in on his sniper and then looks at a soldier who has his gun aimed at William. He then zooms even further and shoots at the soldier’s head. It touches his head and then the soldier falls down. William looks behind him and notices the favour and then he takes cover. He picks up the dead soldier’s body and uses it as a shield. Mike then reloads the gun and shoots another bullet at a soldier and he gets hit on his arm. He then reloads the gun and shoots one more bullet and now it hits his head and he immediately dies. William then takes out his pistol and shoots the soldiers in front of him. He shoots one in the leg and then in the head, another one in the hand and chest and he shoots one in the head and instantly dies. William then throws the dead man’s body and then he runs towards the building and sees that there is only one left.  But that one building was not an easy thing as there were many soldiers who were going up inside the building. Will quickly takes out his phone and calls Liz but she does not pick up and cuts the call. William, now worried and angered, runs towards the staircase and throws a smoke grenade on the staircases. The grenade blasts in a few seconds and the entire floor gets enveloped in smoke. William then goes inside the building and sees soldiers coughing and running towards the windows for oxygen. William takes this situation as his advantage and runs up as fast as he can. The soldiers notice him and shout-“There! There is that old man!” and everyone starts running behind him. William is about to drop another smoke grenade but does not drop it. He runs up for his life and he reaches the fifteenth floor while the soldiers are stuck on the thirteenth. William then runs and reaches the sixteenth floor and looks around for Mike and Liz. He climbs another flight of stairs and reaches the seventeenth floor and sees someone hiding behind the wall, someone who is wearing something a jacket or a shirt which is black in colour. William reloads his shotgun and goes inside the room and sees that there were the two kids. He hugs them tightly and asks them-“Why did you go out of the garage?” “Dad, we have no time to explain right now. First let’s fight these guys and then we will talk.” Replies Liz as she reloads her shotgun and pistol and revolver and hands Mike his pistols, bow and arrows. Mike hangs his bow from his shoulder and puts the sniper down. He reloads his pistols and then asks William-“How many of them are left down there?” “Somewhat between fifteen and twenty.” replies William. “Where are they now?” asks Liz. “They were down on the thirteenth while I was on the fifteenth so they will be coming any time now.” Replies William as he holds his assault rifle in his hand. He looks forward and sees that something rolled up from the floor. He goes towards it and holds it in his hand. He flips it over and sees a timer. “GRENADE!” shots William as he throws the grenade out of his hand and throws it down stairs and hears an explosion. He then goes back to the kids and asks them-“Are you ready?” “Yes Sir!” shouts the both of them. “So let’s go!” shouts William as he then uses his assault rifle to shoot the soldiers. Liz then goes in front of him and she shoots two soldiers with her shotgun and then changes to her side arm and shoots three bullets and downs one more soldier. Mike goes forward and shoots one enemy with two bullets and then takes out his knives and then stabs him in the neck and stomach. He quickly puts those back and takes out his bow and shoots two enemies and one of them falls down. He then quickly puts his bow back and then William shoots the soldier. Liz then shoots one soldier with her pistol and William downs two more soldiers with his assault rifle. He then changes to his pistol and then shoots the third soldier. Liz throws a grenade downstairs and it blasts and the four men die with the blast. Mike then goes towards a soldier and kicks him straight in the balls and the soldier gets a shock and he falls down. Mike then uses his pistol and kills him with a bullet in his head and then he reloads it. The trio then go down several floors and when they reach the fourth, they see another ten soldiers coming inside the building. They quickly reload their weapons and wait for their enemies to come up. They both meet each other on the second floor and William then takes out his flamethrower and ignites the soldiers. They throw their arms around and perform the drop, stop and roll. Then William then uses his pistol and shoots five of them in the head. Liz then shoots two of them while Mike shoots two of them. They look around for any more soldiers and then they get out of the building and keep their weapons in their bags. Up on exiting the building, Liz and Mike then retell their entire encounter and inform Will that they interrogated someone and told that Jack already knew about this area and was not coming here. After listening to the entire encounter, William goes towards Liz and then hugs her. He then goes towards Mike and then slaps him really hard. “WHY IN THE WORLD DID YOU PUT MY DAUGHTER IN DANGER, YOU i***t?” shouts William as he looks at Mike with a glaring look on his face. “I now I put her in danger. Okay? I am really sorry. But then i saved her too!” shouts Mike. “MIND YOUR TONE!” shouts Will as he takes Mike by the hand. “I WILL NOT MIND MY TONE! WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ANYWAY!” shouts Mike as he looks at William dead in the eye. “THIS IS WHAT I AM GONNA DO!” shouts William and he takes Mike’s hand and then puts his knife on it. He shrieks when he looks at Mike’s hand and then asks-“Where did you get that?” “Where did I get what? Oh s**t!” Mike looks at his hand and then notices his zombie scratch. He then looks at it and says-“It cannot be!” “What cannot be Mike?” asks Liz as she holds his hand. “Mike, when do you think you got this scratch?” asks Will as he also holds Mike’s arm and feels the scratch mark and sees a bite along with it. The last time I remember that we were having the fight with those zombies in the house and when you told us to escape; I felt something scratch my hand. After that I did not feel any pain or what so ever happens during a zombie transformation. Now, I am noticing this on my hand and I am not feeling anything.” replies Mike as he looks at his own hand. “Mike, do you know what this actually means?” asks Will as he gets a spark of joy in his eye. “What does it mean dad?” asks Liz as she stares at her dad. “This means that Mike is the cure!” shouts William. The kids go quiet and the entire area becomes quiet. It feels like something had engulfed them and had given them a quiet serum. “How are you so damn sure Will?!” asks Mike. “Let me get this straight, you got a bite mark and a scratch mark and you did not feel anything. Then, it takes a time of one to two hours for transforming and forming a cocoon. During this time, you would have felt major paralysis and fatigue along with mood swings. This would lead to your transforming and then you would have turned. And we have been here for almost six hours and it is three in the morning now, and you have not changed. You know what this means Mike? That you are the cure!” says William as he explains the two kids. He then goes towards Mike and hugs him and says sorry for hitting him. Mike takes the apology and then they go to return home. On the way walking, William asks Mike-“Mike, how many soldiers did you remember seeing?” “I think thirty.” Replies Mike. “No, while we were on the lower floors.” Asks William as he tries to remember how many soldiers they had seen and killed. “We saw ten soldiers and we killed nine.” says Liz. “So where is the last guy?” asks William “Right behind you.” replies a voice. It comes behind and Mike and stabs Mike fatally on his back and below his right shoulder. Mike cries in pain and he falls down on the ground. William looks behind and sees the soldier running away. He then takes his sniper out and aims at the soldier’s legs and he falls down on the ground. Liz then runs towards the soldier and takes out all his weapons and stabs him in the leg. She then drags the body while Mike gets carried by William, with Mike’s backpack hanging from his hand. Will then takes Mike back to the garage and looks at his shoulder and puts an antiseptic on it from the first-aid kit. Meanwhile, Liz brings the injured soldier and makes him sit on the floor with his hands tied behind his back. Liz then goes to Mike and treats his injury as Mike passes out. William goes towards the soldier and sees the soldier laughing. He then takes his knife and stabs him in the other leg. William then shouts-“WHY DID YOU DO THIS?” “Jack sent me here and he told me that you do not actually feel pain and recover from it. So he told me to injure any one of the kids with him and I went for the boy!” says the soldier and then starts laughing maniacally. William takes out his gun and shoots the soldier in the hand and the soldier than cries in agony. William then goes back and treats Mike’s wounds and applies a lot of cream on it. He then puts bandages on it and applies a gauge around Mike’s back. Liz then goes towards the soldier and says-“How are you?” and then kicks him in the balls and the man groans. William then goes forward and shoots him in the other hand and the soldier’s cried even increase. William then looks at him straight in the eyes and says-“Go to hell.” and shoots a bullet in his head. He then opens the garage and dumps his body outside of the house where they had fought the infected. They then return to Mike and look at him and sees that he as just become unconscious. The father and daughter both look at each other and then they hug each other. They then lock the garage door from inside and then they put sheets over Mike and push his mattress towards the wall. Liz and William then put their guns beside them and go to sleep.                                       CHAPTER 16:- Three weeks have passed and Mike has recovered. He still has some trouble moving his shoulder but he can walk and do the necessary things. Over the course of these three weeks, Liz and William went out in the city and brought the necessary medical equipment and food and medicines.  They had brought painkillers, antiseptics, water bottles, juices, biscuits and chips during these past weeks and had kept Mike in good condition. In his first week, Mike was unconscious for five days and could not even move himself and had difficulty in moving and eating. He then woke up on the sixth day. By the end of the second week, Mike could get up from his bed and walk small distances. And by the end of this third week, Mike was able to walk properly and do everything but still had his shoulder healing. Mike could also shoot a gun from his left hand and could also write with the left. Liz and William then return from their outside walk and see Mike walking around inside the garage. “Hey buddy! You all right?” asks William as he keeps the medical supplies inside the car. “Yeah, I am all right, just the minor problems and inconveniences of getting used to walk and hold stuff. Otherwise, I am fine.” replies Mike. “Nice.” Replied William-“Now we have to go to them military and take you to your dad.” “Yeah, so what were you both doing?” asks Mike as he looks at Liz. “We were walking around and decided to get some supplies.” replied William. “Oh okay.” Says Mike-“So by when are we gonna get out?” asks Mike. “In half an hour or so. By that time, you can and Liz can go outside and just walk and talk. Just stay near this area. After thirty minutes, I’ll come out with the car and then you all can hop on.” Says William “Okay dad.” Replies Liz as she helps Mike to walk and then they go out of the garage. They walk out of the garage and then Mike asks Liz-“How did you all nurse me back?” “Well, it’s a long story so I am gonna tell you. After we bought you here you passed out as we put the bandages over you. You were unconscious for five days and during that time, dad, had opened your bandage and checked the level of intensity. He then took out a pair of tweezers and had taken a small metal out of your body, which was the knife. He then threw it outside and then he applied antiseptic all over the wound. He then put a lot of cotton and some sort of liquid over the cotton and put it on top of your wound. He then wrapped it in gauges and then sealed it. You woke up after six days and looked around like you had had a major sunstroke and dehydration, you actually had dehydration.  You tried to get up but you immediately fell down and groaned. We then gave you water threw a funnel and then we put you up and aligned you with the wall. We then fed you and had given you some tablets and then you went back to sleep. This continued for a week until five days ago, when you could move your body and walk for small distances. Dad then taught you how to shoot with your left arm and I …” “Taught me how to write with my right arm” says Mike as he looks in Liz’s eyes. “You remembered!” exclaims Liz-“I thought you had forgotten but then looks like you proved me wrong. So anyway, you then started walking and eating and then dad checked on your wound and it had healed pretty much and had a small scab which needed to be recovered. So while you were sleeping, he took out the bandages and then put a small cotton piece and put that same lotion and then put a few bandages over it and covered it with a single layer of gauge. Then yesterday, he gave you your last set of tablets and you went to sleep. Then he took out the bandages and covering and saw that there was a very small area where it had the scab and then he just put two bandages over it, and voila! You are here now walking!” exclaims Liz as she holds Mike’s hand. “So did William tell you on how this pain can go away?” asks Mike as he gently looks at his right shoulder. “Well, dad told that of you take the painkillers and tablets for three more days, then the pain wijll go away.” replies Liz. “Okay. So what did you do during my recovery period?” asks Mike. “It’s a bit complicated.” replies Liz. “Come on, just tell me what happened!” asks Mike with a tinge of curiosity in his face. “Well while you were recovering, I was always staying near you and I was not going away. Dad tried to take me out for the first five days but I was not going because I wanted to see you as soon as you wake up. Then when you started to get up and all, then I started to go out and quickly come inside to check on you. Then I slowly started to write and just draw stuff. Then I went for a bit of a marathon session with dad every two days and before we came inside, we had to bring supplies and did a race on who will reach to the house.” replies Liz as she then turns around and then they start walking towards the garage. “So, it’s my turn to ask you a question… what do you remember before and after the stabbing?” asks Liz. “Well, before I could not see anything I remember your dad tell me that I was the cure and then we talked about a missing soldier and then I got stabbed and then you guys tortured him and carried me back and then I saw something happen a bit of a blood coming out of someone and then I passed out.” replied Mike as he reminisced a bit of a pain as he remembered the bad piece of memory. “That was pretty, pretty painful right?” asks Liz as she holds Mike hands a bit tighter. “No, it was not painful. It was like a thousand needles poking your body. Hell yeah it was painful! It was the worst I have ever felt in y entire life and I am still getting that sharp pain as I think about it.” Replied Mike as he limps slightly. “I see!” replies Liz as she laughs and then kisses Mike slightly on the cheek-“So, do you want to return?” “Yeah, I should better sit or sleep in a car than walk around with my girlfriend.” replies Mike as he now kisses Liz. Liz blushes and then they go back to the garage and see that William had taken out the car and was sitting in it. The love birds then get on the car and Liz sits in the front seat and Mike lies down on the back seat. “Where are we of to now?” asks Liz. “We now have to go to the military base and explain our entire story from start to finish and ask them for help and see that if they can bring Mike’s father here and some scientists so that they can create a vaccine from his blood.” says William as he inserts the key and turns on the engine. “You guys will visit me, right? You know after you drop me of and then hopefully we can meet again?” asks Mike as he realizes that their journey had come to an end as soon as it had started. “Yeah, we will meet you.” replies Liz and then William starts the car and they take the garage lock with them. William then drives forward and sees that there is a bridge. He takes the bridge and they drive past the greenery and a sea. Mike then looks at the scenery along with Liz and pulls the windows down to feel the cool summer breeze. They drive past the bridge at about fifty kilometers per hour and come across an old man who was walking to the opposite road. William then pulls the car towards him and asks him-“Excuse me sir, can you please tell me the direction to the military zone?” “The what zone?” asks the old man. “The military zone!” replies William. “The military zone! It is about eighteen to twenty three kilometers away. Why do you want to go there?” asks the old man. “We have to go there and give my son and daughter for training.” Replies William and Mike and Liz then wave their hands at the man. “Oh okay. Carry on, continue your journey.” says the old man and he then walks in his own direction. “Thank you, sir!” shouts William as he starts the engine. “Welcome, my dear boy!” says the old man and then both of these civilians then part their own ways. “So, we have a mere distance of twenty kilometers left? Damn, this journey has become shorter than I expected it to be.” Says Mike as he remembers all the experiences and moments he had when he was alone in the wild. He remembers his time scrounging for food and that he had to kill two squirrels and eat them and preserve them. He remembers the time when he had joined Jack’s clan and had learned the art of fighting against an enemy and how to be affective in combat. He remembers the car crash and the Cannibals attacking. He remembers the joy and satisfaction of rescuing and getting rescued by Will and Liz when they escaped Jack’s territory.  He remembers him playing with Eddie and Liz at Anne and Zach’s house. He then remembers the car chase fight and when he had to drive. He remembers his most recent experiences which included him and Liz walking to buildings while using a rope and saving her life. He reminisces his most recent pain, the ‘Shoulder Stabs’ that’s what he has been calling it and remembers the soft touch of Liz’s lips and hands and the harsh touch of Will’s slap and then he looks at his bite marks and then slowly imagines a world where there will be tranquility and peace and happiness. William looks at the road ahead and sees birds flying above them. He looks up and sees that those birds are seagulls. He then looks at Mike and sees that he has his hands folded behind his head and that he has one leg over the other. He looks at Liz and sees that she is looking outside the window and feeling the wind on her face. He also pulls his window down and then drops from a speed of sixty kilometers to forty kilometers per hour. Liz looks outside and occasionally glances at Mike. She feels the soft wind on her face and the cool climate. She looks up and sees that the sun was in the best area, it was half covered by clouds and the other half was shining brightly. Liz takes her phone out and then clicks a picture of the bridge. “Hey dad, can you stop the car?” asks Liz. “Yeah, but why?” asks William. “Just do it that!” says Liz in an excited manner and William then pull the car to a halt. Liz then takes out her phone and tells Mike and Will to smile. She then clicks three selfies of them and shows it to Mike and Will who compliment on the photos and laugh on how they were looking and sitting. William then returns to driving and then Liz looks at the road in front of them. The car crosses the bridge which was seemingly two kilometers long. William then looks up and sees a billboard sign which says twenty kilometers to the military zone. William then looks at the fuel gauge and sees that half of the fuel tank is still full. He then lets out a silent fart and it circulates around the whole car. Liz then smells it and shouts-“MIKE OPEN THE WINDOW! DAD LET OUT A NUCLEAR BOMB!” and meanwhile threw all that smelling, William laughs and sees the kids suffer. He then takes out a small bottle of deodorant and tells Liz and Mike to pull the window up. He then turns on the A.C. and then suddenly, silence prevails in the surroundings. “Will, can you put the A.C. to a number three?” asks Mike as he starts to feel warm. “Yeah sure thing.” And William turns the dial to the number three. The speed and coldness of the A.C. increased and in the car it felt like a room with three A.C’s attached in it. Mike then gets up from the seat and sits down. He takes his bag to his right and leans on it while they drive forward. After driving for five kilometers, William turns of the A.C. and pulls the windows down and increases his speed from fifty kilometers per hour to sixty five kilometers per hour. In five minutes they cross the ten kilometer mark and are about five kilometers away from their destination. William then puts his foot on the gas pedal and then he sees a barricade formed by trucks and cars. He gets down from his car and then shouts-“Can you all move your vehicles out of the way! We are heading towards the military?” The truck door opens and someone comes out of it, and that person is none other than Jack. William takes out his gun but then he sees Jack dropping his own and takes out two swords. He keeps the swords on the ground and then signals one of his men to bring something. The soldier comes forward and brings two shields and keeps them on the ground. William then drops his weapons and looks at Jack and says-“What is this Jack? Didn’t that tranquilizer bring you back to your senses! Why are you still trying to follow us even though you know that we will defeat you? This is not some sort of killing cycle, this is about vengeance isn’t it?!” “It is about vengeance, Will. But it is also about the indirect murder of my family which was caused by you! And we cannot defeat you as a team, but if you fight with me and then you defeat me, I will turn my back and surrender! So do you take this, deal?” says Jack. William stops and thinks about it. He then drops his guns and backpack and says-“I accept this challenge.” Liz and Mike stare outside the car and Liz shouts-“What are you doing? You know they will double cross us? Why are you even taking this challenge? Dad, we can fight them like a team! There is no need to do this!” and then she starts crying. William looks behind and tells Liz-“Liz, I had taken his sister. So he gets the right to avenge her! Please don’t this to me!” and then William walks towards the sword and picks one up and holds it in his right hand and takes the shield in his left hand. Jack then picks up his sword from his left hand and then picks up the shield with his right hand. They both hold their swords on the ground and then a bullet fires. BANG                                 CHAPTER 17:- The battle begins and Jack decides to step back and go defensive. William takes the sword and then taunts Jack by clashing it against his own shield. Jack gets intimidated and goes forward and slashes towards Will but he blocks it with his shield. He then moves and sees Jack going for one more s***h for his right hand and Will again blocks it. Jack now keeps his mind calm and then goes for a s***h to William’s torso and Will parries the attack. The sword swings in the opposite direction and then William goes for a swift cut to Jack’s hand and is successful. Jack groans and says-“Looks like you came here trained.” “Yeah, and it looks like that you did not come prepared.” replies William in return. William then goes for a s***h attack to Jack’s elbow and gets blocked. He then crouches and then strikes Jack in the knees and Jack gets a cut. He then pushes William with his shield and William loses his balance. Jack then strikes at William’s left hand and cuts it near his elbow. William then regains his balance and then blocks Jack’s attack. He then goes back and gets in a steady position. Jack rushes towards him and William dodges by moving towards the left. Jack then gets shocked and William then slashes Jack’s back. Jack then turns back and feels the blood dropping from his back. “You have some skills in you, don’t you?” mocks William as he looks at an infuriated Jack. “Yes I have some skills and now let’s see how you parry this!” Jack then jumps in the air and throws his sword on the ground; he then lands on it and then jumps even higher and then throws his shield. William blocks the shield but that leaves him stunned due the impact. Jack then takes his sword and then jumps he is then going to land a fatal blow but William rolls on the road and stabs Jack in his leg. Jack groans and takes out the knife from his leg and then says-“You sly son of a…” and rushes towards William who only has his sword. Jack rushes towards him and strikes him with his sword. William blocks it with his sword but then he gets fatally hit in the knee with Jack’s shield and falls down. Jack then pulls his sword high up in the air and then he pulls it down with all his might and strikes William left leg. “AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!” “Let’s see how you like this” and Jack’s pulls his sword high up and then brings it down. But William takes the chance and then he kicks Jack in the face and then holds hi shield on the ground with his right leg and puts his left one on Jack’s face and strikes Jack’s left hand with a fatal blow which leads to severe bleeding and make Jack lose a finger. “Don’t make me do this.” Says William as he puts the sword deeper in Jack’s hand. Jack then shouts and says-“You have to do this, William. Finish me! Chop my head! Just do it!” “No Jack, I will not kill you. I will not let you die!” says William as he takes the sword out of Jack’s hand. “Traitor!” and Jack again stands up from the ground and starts punching William in the face. He then makes William’s nose bleed and then William strikes the sword in Jack’s hand. Jack goes back and then William takes it out from his hand and he then starts hitting Jack with his hands and legs> He punches Jack severely and Jack’s nose bleeds and face becomes red. Jack then blocks William’s attack and then gets up from his face and then takes his sword in his right hand and so does William. Both the men have their faces bloody and sweaty and have turned their bodies into places with multiple cuts and bruises. William now takes the offensive position and he goes to attack Jack’s right hand. Jack dodges at the left and then punches William in the face. William again goes to attack and then gets kicked in the leg. William now steps back and gets ready for an attack from jack and he rushes forward and attacks William in the leg. William goes back and then attacks Jack using the sword’s handle. Jack stumbles back and then William attacks him on the hand and slashes his skin. Blood starts to drop from the area and Jack throws his sword toward William. William catches it and throws it back to Jack and the sword gets impaled in Jack’s left hand. Jack takes it out and then holds it in his right hand.   Jack then rushes towards William and picks up his shield from the ground. He then charges towards William and he staggers back. William then picks up his sword and rushes towards Jack. The sun gets hidden by the clouds and lightning and thunder starts to happen. It rains heavily and the road gets filled with water. William then holds his Shield and runs towards Jack and throws it upwards. He then rushes towards Jack and pushes him back. Jack then goes back and rushes towards Will and slashes him in the neck. Blood trickles down from Will's neck and he holds that area in pain. Jack runs towards him and then he strikes Will with his shield. William falls and Jack punches William and then says-"I thought you would have been a challenge. But I was wrong. Looks like I should tell you the truth that I killed your sister and she was my wife and girlfriend. The bodies you found in the tunnel were my doing and your sister was also killed by me. So now that you have learned the truth, you can now die peacefully."  Jack raises his sword and he then brings it down but William kicks him in the stomach and Jack how's back. William then takes two swords and then stabs Jack's palms. Jack screams in agony and tries to take out the swords but can't. William then stabs Jack's in the right leg and takes out Jack's knife and stabs it Jack's other leg. Jack screams in agony and tries to take out the swords but he can't. William then punches Jack in the face and tells him-"You should have stayed away from my family." And William then finishes Jack with the sane tow swords by taking them out from his palm and then he stabs Jack’s eyes and the leader of the Cannibals and William's best friend was no more.                     CHAPTER 18:- The entire Cannibal army and Liz and Mike stare at William as the rain drops even more loudly on the ground and that lightning and thunder strikes and booms; respectively. The soldiers look at William and bow their heads in front of him and kneel to him. William then stumbles and leans behind the car. Liz and Mike then make me regain his balance and then William gets in the car. He then honks at the trucks and cars in front of him and the soldiers get inside it and move. William then presses the accelerator and drives at speed of fifty kilometers per hour. Liz sits beside Mike and they both hold each other’s hands and think about what just happened and what William was going to do. They reach the military base in two minutes. There is a soldier standing at the gate who then asks him-“What is your work over here?” “We are here to meet Mike’s father.” replies William. “Mike who?” asks the soldier. “Michael Austin. Son of Alex Austin.” Replies Mike. The soldier than goes through his computer and sees that there is someone named Alex Austin and his son’s name is Mike. He then opens the gate andlets them inside the military. “Excuse me, sir, where is the hospital?” asks Mike. “You see that building with the big ‘H’ written on it. That’s the hospital.” replies the soldier and then he goes back to work. William then drives in front of the hospital and stops his car. He then turns of the engine and looks to Mike and Liz and says-“I am sorry that I acted grumpy and put your life in danger. I am truly sorry on what happened to you both and I ask you both that may you both forgive me.” says William as a few drops fall from his eyes. “It’s okay, William. I forgive you, man if it was not for you I would not have known that I was mankind’s savior and that I could have never escaped that damned place.” Replies Mike as he leans forward and hugs William. “Thanks Mike.” says William. He then turns towards Liz and says-“Liz, baby, I am seriously sorry for the traumatic events that you had to go through during this past month. I will fix things up and spend more time with you, so please don’t take this as a way that I am just making fake promises because I am unhappy. I am telling this because I really want to spend more time with you.” Says William as he hugs his daughter and that his daughter hugs him back. William then wipes the tears from his eyes and then says-“So, let’s go people! Let’s create a vaccine and save the world.” And then William, Liz and Mike then come out of their car and walk inside the hospital. The doors were automatic so they did not have to push anything. They then go in front of the register and William asks the lady-“Ma’am, can you collect all your scientists and please put them all in working conditions for this boy’s blood.” The lady laughs. And she does not only laugh, but laughs really hard. She then gets a grip on her face and looks at William and says-“And why should I bring all the scientists in this military zone for this boy’s blood?” Mike then steps forwards and shows her his hand and then he says-“Because of this.” The lady then screams and makes a few calls. After five minutes, ten scientists gather around Mike and they then take him to a surgery room and extract his blood cells. Mike is made to wait outside the surgery room, while the doctors prepare the room. He looks at Liz and says-“Liz, if I make it out of there, alive, will you marry me?” “Hell yes! I will!” and she then kisses Mike and then Mike is called in the surgery room for the extraction of his blood.   Out of the ten scientists, one works on the extraction of blood while two work on examining the blood sample. And three work at the processing and formation of the blood and that they can then produce it on an infected and see the results. The remaining four treat Liz’s and William’s injuries. They look at Liz and apply a bit of cream and apply a bandage on her hand. When William enters, they get shocked. They immediately tell him to open his shirt and sit on the chair. William sits on the chair and they give him anesthesia. William goes into a sleep and then they operate on his wounds and find pieces of metal in them. They remove the bits and dump them into a dustbin. They finish operating on William’s body after five hours and when he comes out, Liz asks him-“How was it?” “I don’t know. I went inside they told me to remove my shirt and then they gave me anesthesia. So did Mike come out and did anyone say something to you?” asks Will. “Well there was this soldier who came to me and said that Mike’s parents will be coming tomorrow in the morning and that they had assigned a room for us to sleep in. I told him that we don’t want the room and a few blankets will do. He just came a few minutes ago to confirm the order and told me that he will come in a few minutes.” Replies Liz as she moves herself to allow William to sit on the bench. “So did anyone come and ask about Mike, or did you ask about Mike?” asks William as he looks over to the surgery room on the end of the corridor. “Well, a doctor came and told me that Mike is all right but he is has been put in anesthesia because the doctor decided to stitch his wounds and totally heal him. Also the results have come in and Mike’s blood is actually working! They then told me that they were going to mass produce the vaccine and then send it to all the countries around the world! So it looks like that we have become the heroes in the world. I asked one of the scientists’ that if we could start a new life; and he told me that it would at least take two years to mass produce and distribute it all around the world and that rebuilding all the cities over in our country would take more than five years. And according to me, it looks like that we have to spend a good decade in the Ground Below.” says Liz. “It looks like that it’s midnight. And it looks like that the soldier is coming with are blankets.” Says William as he notices a soldier coming towards them and has two blankets in his hands. He then hands it to them and asks them-“Excuse me sir, is there anything else you require?” “No we’re good. Thank you Mr. …” “Lieutenant Shepherd. Have a good night sir.” “You to Lieutenant.” And the soldier goes outside the building and keeps guard outside the door. William then puts the blankets over Liz and she wraps it around herself. She then holds it close to her while William wraps his body in the blanket. He then kisses Liz on the cheek and Liz kisses him on the cheek and then they both go to sleep. The next morning, William wakes up and sees Liz sleeping beside her. He then gets up from his seat and then goes towards the coffee machine and takes a cup of coffee and then slowly drinks from it. He then walks towards the surgery room and sees Mike on the bed, talking with someone. William knocks on the door and the scientist looks at him and lets him in. Will looks around the room and does not notice anything out of the ordinary except for a few pieces of metal. “Hey, Will! How are you?” exclaims Mike. “I am fine and how are you?” asks William. “I am fine. And here meet my dad, Alex Austin. Dad, meet William Watts.” “Hey, so thanks for bringing my kid over here and saving him from the mess he was in.” says Alex as he shakes his William’s hand. “Yeah, it was all cool, except for some occasions but we had a good time together.” replies William. “So Mike, how are you feeling and did they stitch the area which was beneath your shoulder?”  asks William. “Yeah man, I am all right and also they had stitched my back and gave me some fine acupressure which instantly relieved me of that pain and now, I can move my hand like a normal human!” replies a happy Mike, who then gets up from his bed and sits with his legs crossed and then speaks-“So, dad and William, I and Liz have decide to get married.” There is a sudden silence and then a burst of happiness between the two dads. They then speak to each other and William suddenly says-“Why don’t you all move with us in the Ground Below?” Alex then thinks about this for a while and then asks Mike-“Mikey, should we move to their place and build a house?” Mike ponders over the question for some time and then replies-“Why not? Let’s call mom and tell her to get shifted and then she can conduct experiments over there!” “Son, your mother can move their even I can, but don’t you think it is a bit too unsafe for your mom as she is a scientist and if anything goes wrong, she can then destroy herself along with the population of the Ground Below?” says Alex as he looks at William and Mike. “If his mom is a scientist then we have my friend Eddie! He has six or seven PHD’s and he is our lead scientist. If your mom is a great one, then they both can create some new tech and improve the well being of our society!” exclaims William. “So what do you think, son, want to get married?” “Yes dad!” and then both the father and son high five each other and then the high five William. CHAPTER 19:- William, Liz, Mike, and Alex then return home. On the way they stop in the town of Las Rican and are generously greeted by Anne, Zach and Eddie. William then tells Anne about Liz’s wedding and then also reminds her plans about shifting from their town to the Ground Below. Anne hesitates at first because she thinks that there will not be enough things and that they cannot move their stuff. William then takes her outside and Anne sees a very huge ‘packers and movers’ truck. Anne without any hesitation lets the men to come in and take two beds and their sofa, couch, fridge, dining table and all the chairs and study tables. After two days they reach the Ground Below. Mike’s mother, Hannah, is brought to them, three days after they reach their home. Anne’s family takes an empty house beside William’s and they settle there in a matter of a two days. Mike’s family takes the house beside Anne’s and sees that the furniture and everything else is there and it just requires some cleaning. Ten days after their arrival, Mike’s and Liz’s wedding take place. Everyone in invited and the celebration has a lot of excitement. Mike is in his get-ready room and gets a bit nervous about how to wear his clothes properly. His mom then enters and takes a look at it and says-“Come here Mike, let me fix it for you.” And then she makes his tie and then very smartly makes Mike wear his coat. Mike then stares at the mirror and then looks at his mom and then go hugs her. “Aw Mike, you might have survived blows but looks like you still a boy when it comes to the heart. No worries, momma and dad got you.” says Hannah as she kisses her son on the cheeks. She then remembers her sweet little boy, and then tells Mike about his life, and that he was a wee little baby. Then he grew up and suddenly became very strong and could lift very heavy things. Then she remembers the day she loses him and thinks that she might have lost him forever, but then looks at her boy and then says-“Mike, life is like a video game. There are the hardships like when you die or cannot defeat a character, but it happens. Then you slowly upgrade yourself and learn better and then succeed! Always remember that life is a game, by upgrading the correct items you will go very far and then be remembered.” Mike then listens to this speech and hugs his mom again. She kisses Mike and then walks out of the room. She then tells Mike where to stand and after a minute, everyone stands up. The bride, Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Watts walks in. She wears a stunning wedding dress which had some silver in it and that she was wearing diamond ring and a necklace. The priest, Father Van, recites the laws and during that time, Liz remembers the journey through which they had come through in the past two months. He remembers him and Liz embarking on an adventure which made them confront their pasts and futures and find new friends and allies and family. They overcame many challenges and dangers and had improved themselves in every way they could. He remembers the many times that he had got hurt and was saved by someone and nurse back to health. He remembers the time where he, Liz and Mike had to escape twice form the Cannibal’s. He remembers the pain when he was stabbed by the soldier and that he had taken his revenge. He gets the smell of Sam and Anne’s delicious food and the excitement of his mouth. He remembers the time when he had to kill his enemies and infected and at the end, he had to kill his best friend and brother in law, Jack. He then looks at his pocket and holds Jack’s knife. He looks at Eddie and Ashley, and Lazlo and his family. They both look at him and then tease him by showing some inappropriate signs but he casually laughs them of and then looks at his son in law and daughter. He remembers Christine and Sam and prays to God, that they rest in peace, and he knows that if both of them were here they would have been very happy at seeing what they had accomplished. The priest then looks at Will and then returns to his lines and says-“Do you, Michael Austin, take Elizabeth Watts as your lawfully wedded wife?” “I do.” “And do you, Elizabeth Watts, take Michael Austin as your lawfully wedded husband?” “I do.” “So you may now… wait hold on for a minute. And do you Mr. William Watts take the Austin family as your lawfully wedded family?” Everyone in the hall laughs and then the priest says them to be quiet, but still some people giggle and smile. “I do.”    “And do you, the Austin Family, take the Watts Family as your lawfully wedded family?” “We do.” “Now you may kiss the bride.” Mike and Liz then step forward and Mike picks up Liz and kisses her. Everyone gets up from their place and starts celebrating and clapping. Liz then throws the bouquet of flowers and it gets caught by Liz’s friend, Lara. Liz and Mike then run out of the place and they then take plates and pile up their plate with food and start eating. After the eating, Liz and Mike then go around and help everyone. Liz goes to her dad and gets hugged by him. Mike goes towards his parents and gets hugged by them. At the end, everyone is gone except for William, the Austin family, Lazlo, Eddie, and Anne’s family. Mike and Liz then go towards them and Liz asks them-“Now what shall we do? Go home?” “William then goes behind a bush and brings something and hides it behind his hands. He then reveals the object and then says-“We play football!” and he keeps the ball on the ground.  Everyone then suddenly puts their belongings down and then start playing a sport which later makes them feel like the happiest time in their lives.
