Chapter 9: His Dream

1178 Words
Derrek? Love, wake up." Derrek turned around when he heard the woman's familiar voice. He opened his eyes. "S-sam? Is that really you?" he assured her. He looked at the girl's face even harder. Sam smiled at him. He immediately got up and hugged the girl. "What's wrong?" The girl asked him in surprise as he hugged her. "You don't know how much I miss you love." His eyes began to wet. He tightened his hug on her. "I miss you too, love. Stop crying. Okay?" she ordered. She rubbed the man's back even more. Derrek slightly loosened his hold on her and looked into her eyes. Then, he reached for her hands. "Please don't ever leave me again, Ha?" he begged and hugged her again. "I'm probably going crazy if you leave me again," he tearfully told her partner. "Are you really okay, love? Have you had a bad dream? I just went to the convenient store for our breakfast but you hugged me like I've been lost for a year," the woman said, confused at Derrek. She withdrew her hands and stood up. She walked to the window and pulled back the bedroom curtain. "A dream?" He thought. "I guess so. It's really a strange dream, love. But, I'm relieved that it's just a dream though." He stood up energetically and put on shorts because he was only wearing boxers. "Was it really a bad dream? Tell me what was it?" "Very bad love. In my dream, when I woke up, mom called me and told me that you were in an accident on your way home. You were hit by a car and you didn't make it-" Derrek suddenly thought. "It's strange!" He scanned the entire area where they were. He isn't familiar with it. Some things were not vivid. He stared at Sam once again. She is wearing a long white night gown. He paused for a second. Some things didn't match. Why is she wearing a night gown if she has come back from the grocery store? He searched for a calendar to check. It was all blurred. That's when he realizes. He immediately went over to the girl and hugged her. "S-sam. I love you so much and I'm sorry that it took me so long to let you go," he said. Sam gazes somewhere with her neutral expression. Then, she vanishes while she is within his arm. Derrek wept. However, it wasn't that painful as it is before. "Sh*t!" He jumped out of his bed when he felt the cold on his forehead. Cold water? "Are you crazy?!" he shouted after jumping out of bed, at the time Sab was laughing. "Lunatic!" he shouted while wiping his wet forehead with his palm. "Oh sorry! Did I wake you up Mr.Charming?" she said, again with her playful smile. Derrek searched for his band mates in the room. "They are in the kitchen if that's what you're looking for," she said, immediately guessing what Derrek was thinking. "Why are you here? Can you please get out?" he ordered her. He grabbed Sab by the arm and dragged her out of the room. "Wait-wait. Let me go. I'm the owner of this staff house so I can do what I want," she protested to him. "Yeah. Exactly! You're the owner of this staff house. What am I thinking. Right?" he sarcastically said to the girl. Sab crossed her arms. "Precisely! You couldn't just drag the person who saved your band," he said. "Well, I just did. You know you're acting like a kid. Well here's the news, I'm too old to be your playmate. So can you, whatever you had in mind- stop it?! I don't have time to ride your trips!" "You're being harsh. Your name is Derrek, isn't it?" He never bothers to answer. "I was just kidding. I came here for work. I brought you boys breakfast and I also wanted to check out the facilities here. It's been a while since I've visited here," she explained. Derrek seemed uninterested on whatever she said. "Are you done?" he asked. "What? W-what's done?" Sabrina asked. "You can leave now! You may be the owner of the bar we're going to but it doesn't mean you can talk to me. I don't give you the right to make conversation with me," he said coldly. "W-woah. Sounds like me in the bar. That's arrogant of you! But, I like that. I like you. That's really what I like in men. Honest, mysterious, and direct." "Nobody asks," he said and slammed the door in front of her. "Wow! He really is something," Sab uttered before completely leaving the room. "What's the problem with your friend?" Sab asked while working on the spread on the slice of bread she brought. She sat down with them. "It's a long story Ma'am," Levi replied while drinking cold water. "C'mmon drop that formality it gives me cringe. It's just Sab. We're probably the same age here." "O-okay Sab," Levi replied shyly. "So, what now? I'm all ears. What's the problem with your friend? Did he just split up with his girlfriend or what?" she said jokingly and started eating. They all looked at each other. Levi told him from how Derrek met his ex-fiancée until the time that he lost her. But he didn't mention how they looked alike. "That's too painful," Sab said directly. She took another bite of the sandwich she'd made. Now she understands why Derrek is like that. "We thought he wouldn't be able to move on," Drake replied. "Luckily, he made his way to heal himself." "I see. Anyway, what's his ex-fiancée's name?" she asked them curiously. They all looked at each other again. "Ahm. Sa-" Their conversation was interrupted when Derrek arrived. "Are you guys talking about the gig?" he asked. He was already dressed in shorts and a white shirt. He came to Levi's side. Where the cold water was lying. He poured out some cold water into the glass and gulped it down. Drake bit his lip. "Ah-no, bro. Just some stuff," he said and looked at Sab. He gestured to her that she should keep quiet about what they had talked about earlier. "So, what were you talking about? Did I miss anything?" he asked again. Sab stood up, having just finished her sandwich. "Nothing. I thought you weren't going out. Eat first. I also brought medicine for your hangover. Drink one." "No, I'm good," Derrek avoided her. "At least eat before we leave," she ordered. His forehead wrinkled. "Leave? Where are we going?" Levi answered him. "In a studio, bro. She wanted us to play in front of her. If I were you I'll take the meds she gave me. That will help improve your performance later." Derrek took one of the meds for hangover. Not because of her but, of Levi. He was right. He needed that medicine. Sab literally smiled as he gazed at him while he looks like a kid who is forced to follow orders.
