HIDEOUS MONSTERS

It all makes sense now why Troy suddenly changed. He was no longer the Troy she knew. To be honest, Cassandra was deeply hurt by the scene she saw yesterday. Her pride was trampled a million times already and seeing her husband acting lovey-dovey in her presence felt like she was in hell. She felt like a joke. Back then, she wanted to go there and grab her husband's wrist and drag him away from the woman, but her feet felt so heavy. She could not move an inch. And she thought that Troy would be angry at her if she did it. She thought that if she acted recklessly out of her jealousy, Troy would immediately leave her, and she didn’t want it to happen. Troy is her only remaining family. A few seconds later, Cassandra's attention was drawn and diverted to the pack maid's voices. “Hey! What is this?” Cassandra’s eyes widened as she saw a few pieces of Troy’s favorite vase in the hands of the housekeepers. “Is something broken here?” “Well… It might be. Maybe our Alpha got angry with his wife again and broke something out of rage,” “Hays! I hope our Alpha will be happy now that his true love is here. I hope that he will soon divorce his current wife,” “Oh my!” The housekeeper got startled. “What? What happened? Your voice makes me nervous; you know?” “You! Have you seen the vase that was placed here?” “No, I have not. Maybe it was kept and hidden somewhere by our Alpha,” “Wait… Can you show me again,” “Show you what?” “That thing in your hands,” “Ah? This?” The housekeepers took a deeper look at the broken piece and both of their eyes widened as they realized something. Their knees wobbled and their bodies soon landed on the cold floor. Their sweat immediately flows from their forehead. “What should we do?” “I… I do not know,” “Will he kill us if he finds out?” “Please do not say that. It was not us who broke it,” “But no one will believe us! We are only housekeepers!” “Hey! Do not freak out!” “What should we do now?” “Let’s think of ways,” After a while, the room was filled with deafening silence. Only the sounds of the maids’ heavy and tense breathing could be heard. Meanwhile, Cassandra who was still hiding behind the cabinet felt an excruciating pain in her body. She could not avoid but scream in pain. The maids’ who were deep in their thoughts immediately stood up. Both got frightened and screamed in horror. Cassandra lifelessly walked outside and moments after she lost her balance and immediately landed on the cold floor. There, the housekeeper saw the other pieces of Troy’s broken vase scattered from Cassandra’s shirt. A few moments later, Cassandra was able to regain her senses and she subconsciously and carelessly picked up the broken pieces of the vase. The maids’ brows raised and immediately stepped on Cassandra’s already wounded hand. “So, it was you who broke it?!” “How dare you play tricks on us? You even wanted us to be accountable for your mistake?” “You want to drag us to hell, aren’t you?! The housekeepers put so much pressure on their feet as they continue to step on Cassandra’s hand which was still holding the broken piece. “It would be better if the Alpha knew what happened here. You should report it to him,” “What? … You want me to go to him personally?” The other housekeeper nods in agreement. “No… I cannot do it. I do not dare to do so. What if he will also hold us accountable? No! I do not want to go to him,” “What if we’ll go to Salima?” “Our beta’s mate?” The other housekeeper nods in agreement again. The housekeeper, without delay, walked out of the room and searched for Salima. A few moments later, the housekeeper went back and gave a signal to her companion. They smirked and looked at Cassandra with a triumphant face. They then dragged her out of her husband's study room and brought her to the interrogation room. Cassandra struggled to escape from their tight grip since she certainly knew the danger that was coming. It is not her first time to be dragged to the interrogation room. Cassandra’s body was trembling, and her footsteps became so heavy, she looked at her belly, and fear immediately enveloped her heart. “Why are you doing this to me?” Cassandra asks in a low voice. She was their Luna! I do not think they should have blamed her! As far as she remembered from the book that she read, Luna should be treated with kindness and respect. Why are they all like this? "Oh! Fudge! I think I aged a thousand since I am forgetting that the alpha of this pack is my husband, and he tortured me. So, it is inevitable for his members to treat me the same, right?!" she thought. She just cannot imagine how she ended up this way?! In her entire human life, she was treated like a princess, not trash! "Haha! What an i***t! What do I expect from a man who's not smart?" she murmured. “Why are you smiling? You look like a fool?” Salima, Beta’s mate, pinched Cassandra’s skin. Cassandra hissed in pain; her blood slowly flowed into Salima’s hand. “Oh! Is it painful? I am sorry, I didn’t even exert much pressure on my hand, your face is quite delicate,” “Oh, your belly is starting to look bulgy, so sad, the Alpha will not accept bastards. And… since he does not like bastards, I will be more than happy to remove them all from his sight,” Salima grinned full of viciousness. Cassandra’s eyes widened in shock. Her eyes were red as she was in a rage and successfully lost from the housekeeper's grip. She immediately jumped on Salima and gave the woman scratches on her face. “You are not humans! You are hideous monsters!” Cassandra shouted as she continuously gave Salima some punches and scratches. “Hey!” Salima pushed Cassandra away from her with great force and since she is a wolf, Cassandra was badly hurt by the impact. Cassandra immediately curled in pain. “How dare you lay your filthy hands on me? You are a b***h!” Salima kicked Cassandra’s head. “Do you know that Alpha Troy was the one who instructed us to force you to have an abortion?! Alpha Troy hates filthy, nymphomaniacs, and horrible women like you! Are you even proud to carry a bastard in your womb? Such a thick face you have!” She exclaimed as she bent and pulled Cassandra’s hair forcibly. ‘So, it was him?’ Cassandra smirked sarcastically but her eyes could not hide the pain she was feeling, tears slowly ran down her cheeks. So bad that her husband's handsomeness was covered with cruelty! He is more than a monster in disguise! She was not aware of her ideals and the shallow meaning of love. She even asked her parent's permission before they ceased to exist in this world to let her marry him. She was deceived by the idea that he would fulfill his promises to her. Marrying and trusting him was one of her biggest regrettable decisions ever made! But what else could she do? She loved him! “What a beautiful sight I’m seeing today,” A man’s unfamiliar voice was heard from the entrance of the room. Cassandra wants to look at the unfamiliar man, but her sight was clouded by darkness, and bit by bit she could no longer hear anything. She passed out.
