TRISHA'S P.O.V
"She is beautiful though." Jenny's voice boomed in my ears as she kept swaying her hips.
"God! Why are you shouting! Keep it down, I can hear you, girl. And of course, she is perfect for him. She loves him, supports him, and cares for him. What else a guy can ask from his lover? They make a perfect couple."
Even if I told her to keep her voice down, I was shouting.
Well, the club is not a good place for having a conversation.
"Ain't you feel jealous, Ishy?" She raised an eyebrow with a slight grin on her lips. She is as clever as a fox.
Note the sarcasm, please
I rolled my eyes.
"Have you gone mad or what? Why would I be jealous? You know we're friends, okay?" I replied trying my best to sound nice even if she is annoying the hell out of me.
"So you're okay with it if Adhish is dating someone?" Her eyes narrowed at me.
"Oh, didn't I said that like, 5 seconds back?" I shrugged my shoulders. "He is my best friend and almost like a family. I will be the happiest one if he is with someone who truly loves him." I said with a tight-lipped smile.
Well, that's the truth. Adhish being with Dia is totally fine for me until he is happy. His happiness is my first priority. So isn't that obvious that he is important?
Did I tell you about Adhish? No?
Well, Adhish Armaan, the hottest guy in our college. He is a brat.
Son of a rich!
So, I still remember our first encounter when I met him on the very first day of my college.
And here's an interesting fact.
I was a freshman and he was a senior.
–3 YEARS BACK–
"Mom, don't worry, the little girl is not little anymore okay? It's just the first day of my college, not survival of course." I said while stuffing my books in the bag.
"I know you're not that little girl anymore but you will be my little one always. So, don't tell me how to talk to my child."
"Right! I am sorry, okay? But don't worry, mom. I'll be fine." I sighed.
"Hmph! Just take care and stay away from troubled kids and don't fall for ragging. Just contact the college office and get in touch with uncle-"
I cut her off in the mid-sentence.
"Okay, my lovely lady. Can I leave now? I'm already late. And I repeat, I'll be fine okay? You don't have to worry."
"Ishy, I am your mother. I know how things work with you. You cry easily. You are not that strong to handle troubles."
I scoffed.
"Are you listening to yourself mom? That was not the way of telling my weakness. I am sensitive but that was not the way to point it out, Mom. It's not a weakness. It's an emotion." I rambled.
I am tired of being called weak. Everyone has a weakness, right? If I am shy and sensitive, is that my fault? Or does that explain I am weak?
"Trisha Sen! You better don't argue with your mother. I know what's right for you."
So that's how this conversation is going to end. Great! Same old days.
Tears were forming in my eyes but I quickly looked up and carefully wiped out the tears.
" Right!" My voice came out as a whisper. "I'll leave now. Love you, mom."
"Okay. Take care of yourself. Love you too."
She sounded emotionless this time.
I wanted to talk to my little sister but I was on the verge of crying so I hung up.
Well, that's how it works. There are times when parents don't understand you, they don't see things from your point of view but it doesn't mean that they don't love you.
I took the taxi and as soon as I reached my college I rushed towards the entrance.
All of a sudden, I realized that I bumped into something very hard. My water bottle slipped from my hand. And expectedly, it landed on... Someone's feet?
Well, he is wearing shoes. It won't hurt.
"Shittake mushroom!" I hissed.
I held the strap of my bag tightly. I was about to get down to pick the bottle but before that, I heard a voice.
A man's voice.
A man's heavy voice.
A man's sexy, heavy voice.
Wow! Is that me being pervy?
Great start.
"You mean, s**t?" He sounded amused.
I didn't look into his eyes.
"I...I'm s..so..sorry, " I said before picking up my water bottle.
"Don't you have manners?" He muttered huskily.
"Excuse me?" I almost said it loudly. I stood straight and I came face to chest with him.
Not funny!
Did I mention that he had a perfectly toned body?
"Look into my eyes and show me some respect," he mocked me.
"I didn't do it purposely but still I apologize okay?"
Me being me. I apologize for everyone's mistake. And finally, I raised my head to see his face.
His jet black hair with his tanned skin was fitted flawlessly. His dark brown eyes and thick eyebrows were attractive. His nose was turned up and his lips were plump, which was making him extra attractive. Overall, he is hot.
"Well, I am afraid your apology won't be accepted until I get a kiss." My eyes widened from his straightforwardness.
He paused for a moment, then continued, "On my cheeks." He completed his sentence and laughed as if it is the most hilarious joke.
When I didn't reply, he came closer and I choked on my breath due to the sudden closeness.
"This is an easy task. And by the way, I wouldn't mind if you want to kiss me somewhere else."
I cringed from his flirtatious dialogues.
I raised my head again to see his face.
No doubt he is extremely hot but he is a FLIRT!!!!
He snapped his fingers and pulled me out of my thoughts.
"Seems like we have found another freshman." A guy jumped in between us.
No! They are seniors?
My legs moved backward to give him space.
"And I'm not messing around. I am extremely serious. You know, the consequences are really bad here. Bad enough to make your days hell in this college." The guy with jet black hair spoke again, ignoring the guy who just jumped in.
Without thinking twice I ran towards my class hoping he won't chase me and luckily he didn't.
I sighed.
"Oh, what a terrible start. I hope I won't see him again"
–END OF FLASHBACK–
"Hey bitches!" I was dragged into reality by Aashika's voice.
"You know you're 40 minutes late!! I was stuck with Journalist Jenny" I said while rolling my eyes as I gave her a bone-crushing hug.
She hugged me back and said, "Sorry Ishy, blame my nap. And where's that b***h! What did she ask? Did she hurt you? I swear I'll break her face so bad that she won't be able to show her face on the very first day of her job interview."
"Oh calm down my angry young woman. No violence." I said while fixing my dress.
"Right" She mouthed and acted as if she is calming herself by doing yoga in the middle of the club.
Aashika is the opposite of me. So here you see, opposite attracts in friendship too. No one understands me better than her. It hurts when I realize that she won't be there with me.
Yes, I am leaving. I am graduated with very good results and I even have a decent job in my hand. But I want to go for master's. I would have chosen the job but who loses the opportunity to study abroad?
Well, I don't.
So, I got my scholarship and that's why we were celebrating because I will be leaving after two days.
"Trish where are you going by the way?" Veronica asked.
"Austin, " I replied with a wide smile.
God! My cheeks are aching!
"Texas!!! Oh my God! That was your dream!"
I mouthed "yes" with a nod.
"Which college though?" Jenny jumped into our conversation.
"Knisons University"
A gasp escaped her lips. "That's– It belongs to Daniel Knight! Oh my– You lucky b***h! He is daddyyy!"
I smiled in reply without any idea of what to say next.
Although, Aashika was throwing daggers at Jenny through her eyes.
After a few seconds of silence, Jenny excused herself.
"I hate this b***h!" Veronica groaned and gulped the tequila shots.
"So do I" Aashika rolled her eyes. "Anyway, I am getting stoned tonight. My one and only friend, is leaving me here to survive alone."
"God, you're being over-dramatic." I laughed.
Suddenly, a hand grabbed my waist.
I panicked so much that I was about to fall from my stool but the strong pair of hands gripped me tightly around my waist and pulled me. My back slammed with a firm chest.
"You look stunning, Tishy" He whispered in my ear.
My body relaxed when I heard his voice.
"Adi, when will you stop giving me mini heart attacks. I am surprised, how I am still alive, even after your assaults." I huffed.
He laughed at my reaction.
"This is the last one, I guess." He smiled weakly.
"No! Of course, no. Won't you come to meet me?" I asked firmly.
He nodded, "Probably, yes!"
He caged me in his arms.
"Say, definitely, yes!!" I mumbled.
"Nope!" He replied.
He sighed and said, " I wonder how would you live there. People are mean Trisha. You're so innocent and how would you-"
"Please stop your boring life lessons. And I am definitely not innocent." I said as I pushed him away from me.
"Yeah, I can see that already. Should I remind you what happened two days back?"
"Shut up!!" I whisper yelled.
Well, I really don't want to go through this again.
So two days back, I was out with my friends when I saw a kid begging on the street. He came to me as well. I lectured him on doing some work instead of begging. What else was I supposed to do? He was perfectly fit and fine.
I told him that I won't give him money, instead, I will pay for his food.
We went to a restaurant and he ordered almost all the expensive food without even looking menu. I was totally dumbstruck.
And guess what? I paid the bill of 60$!
Sounds average but too much for a middle class Indian!
So you see, I am not innocent, just easy to fool.
Wow! I am declaring myself a fool! Bravo!
Aashi kept drinking until she got intoxicated. She is an occasional alcoholic.
I don't drink and I never even tried it either so I just danced a bit.
ADHISH'S P.O.V
"Where are you, babe?" Dia's high-pitched voice rang from another side of the phone.
Investigating again! I swear, she gets on my nerves.
"I'm with friends,"
Irritation was clear in my voice and I didn't bother to hide it.
"Can I know the name of your friends?"
Oh! I wonder why I am still in this relationship.
"Well sweetheart, that is none of your business. You better don't expect me to tell you about my whereabouts."
"Ooh, I see. well, leave it. All I want to know was about your little best friend," she muttered thinking I didn't hear.
"Yes, Trisha is here as well,"
"You should ask-" she was about to complete her words but I stopped her in the mid-sentence.
"You better don't complete your sentence if you want peace in your relationship." I hung up without listening to her answer.
It's getting hard day by day. She is so insecure with Tishy.
Well, to be honest, this relationship means nothing to me. I am not a fuckboy but every guy has needs, right?
You sound like one right now.
My inner voice rang in my head.
Well! But trust me, I do respect women. I am trying to keep up with Dia but it's leading me nowhere.
When it comes to priorities, Trisha is my first priority. I am not willing to give up Trisha over Dia.
"Earth to Adi." I was pulled back in reality by Trisha's voice. "Will you please help me to carry her? She is heavy."
I turned around and saw Trisha struggling with Aashi who couldn't even keep her leg on the floor properly.
"Let me help you" I ran towards her.
She rolled her eyes, " I guess, I was asking for that only."
I picked Aashi and looked at Trisha, "I am hurt by your behavior towards me, Tishy." I said playfully and carried Aashi towards the car. I placed her in the backseat.
"Where are others?" I asked when I saw her looking around.
"They are staying. I wanna go home. I am really tired. So.." She replied turning her gaze towards me.
She looks exhausted.
"Let's go then. I'll drop you."
She sat beside me in the passenger seat and I drove off to her home.
