TRISHA P.O.V "I am home, mom!" I yelled and walked towards my room. "You were supposed to come home by 10." My little devil was standing in front of my room with crossed arms. She tries to irritate me but ends up entertaining me. My eyebrows raised in amusement. "Well, I am sorry, little sister." She nodded, "Where is your boyfriend?" Her eyes narrowed at me. Can expect this from 10 y/o kid! I burst out into laughter. "He left? He didn't bring me chocolates that's why he left, no?" She pouted. I was about to reply but mom interrupted us. "Vani, go to your room." Vani walked back into her room. Poor kid! "Trisha, come into the living room. We need to talk." She said and walked into the living room. My heart started beating rapidly. I hate this sentence. It makes me anxious. It makes me feel like something awful is waiting for me. I sat in front of her. "Ishy, I want you to reconsider the idea of studying abroad." "What!" "You heard me!" "Mom, this is Texas what you're talking about. I have been waiting for this opportunity my whole life and just when I am 48 hours away from it, you decided to tell me to think again?" "This is for your own good! You have a well-paid job in your hand. And–" "Mom, please?" "Do whatever you want to do." And here we go! This sentence hurts me the most when it comes from her. Every time she says this, I do everything she wants me to do. But not this time. She sighed and kept a paper and pen on the table. "Sign this." "What is this?" I picked the paper to read it. It was a sale deed. So, my mom is selling the land to a company. This paper needed my signature because my Dad made a deed where the ownership of the property will pass onto me when I'll be 20. My eyes widened in surprise when I saw the name of buying party. "The buying part–" "Is Daniel Knight's company." My mom completed my sentence. " Wow! I didn't say anything and signed the deed. "Goodnight mom!" I walked into my room. After the death of dad, mom has done so much for us. All we had was a few properties. Mom sold all of them for our education. My sister is still in middle school and the expenses are not stopping. Sometimes I think I should have taken the job offer. I opened the door of my room. "I thought you left." I crossed my arms and looked at Adhish who looked quite comfortable on my bed, as always! "Thanks to your windows." He winked. ADHISH P.O.V She sat on the bed beside me. "Where is Vani?" I asked. "She slept." She said while untying her beautiful wavy hair. I won't say that I haven't felt for Trisha in these past 3 years. But I am afraid to ruin what we have. I know how she reacts to things she barely expects. And me confessing my feelings is something she has never expected. Even if that's something next to impossible. So I am looking forward to find my courage and confess my feelings to Trisha. I still remember her first day in college. She was scared, or may I say nervous, because she is a strong woman. She is just a bit sensitive. And trust me, when I saw her for the first time, the only word that came into my mind was.. innocuously beautiful. –3 YEARS BACK– Wow! That was a nice meeting. She ran away and I didn't get a chance to know her name. Anyway, she is here, and I am here as well. I am sure, this time I am gonna bump into her. FUNNY ME! My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the bell. Everyone ran towards their class. I walked towards my girlfriend's class. She had my assignment. Oh yes! She is a freshman. When I entered in her classroom and examined the room hoping I may find her here. And she is not on her seat Great! I didn't found her but I found someone whom I was quite curious to find. Luck luck luck I smirked and walked towards the desk. When her eyes noticed me she was stunned. That was a good response. I stood in front of the desk for a few seconds. I was about to sit when she stood up and started walking out. Well, that's something I didn't expect. "Stop" I tried to stop her but she kept walking. "I said stop, didn't you heard me?" I held her wrist. "Are you deaf, sweetheart?" She stopped and remained standing without turning her gaze towards me. "You have a problem sitting with me?" "No." She said and pulled her hand away from my grip. "Then sit with me." "No." She replied. I rolled my eyes at her reply. Cute but hard to handle. "Fine, go ahead. Even I want to know who will go against me and let you sit with them." I raised my hand in surrender. I walked towards the front desk and jumped on it. I stood on the desk and raised my hands in the air, "Kiddos, a quick advice for all those who don't want to mess with me." "This girl" I pointed towards her while looking at the whole bunch of people. I felt her eyes on me. I ignored and proceeded "If anyone will let this girl sit beside them then I'll assume it as a challenge." Every one started murmuring. I was just enjoying the sight. I walked towards her and said " So what next, sweetheart? What are you going to do now?" She looked around the classroom. " By the way, I am so exhausted from yelling my lungs out. Can I have your water? You know, you owe me that at least. After you nearly broke my feet by dropping your hell of that stone bottle." Without waiting for her response I took out her bottle. With the bottle, a pendant fell from her bag. It caught my eyes. She ran towards the pendant but I was fast enough to get it first. "I see, it's precious to you. Boyfriend huh?" I raised my eyebrows and a smirk played on my lips. "No, please give it to me, I'll do whatever you will say, okay? Just give it back " she said while fabricating a smile. But I threw it towards Jay and he was ready enough to catch it. She ran towards him and he passed it to another guy and it continued. She was running here and there. Unexpectedly, I noticed the tears that were brimming in her eyes. She was crying. I started regretting instantly. "Stop it," I yelled and the whole class became silent. "Give it back to her, Jay." Jay listened to me and gave that pendant back to her. She mouthed 'thank you' before running outside. I felt guilty so I knew I owed her an apology. I ran after her. "Hey, wait, stop!" I grabbed her arm and pulled her towards me so that she can face me. She turned around and I saw her red and swollen eyes. "What?" she sounded calm. I wonder how she can be so calm towards me even when I turned her first day into the awful one. "I'm sorry, I was... I was harsh on you," I mumbled. "It's fine. At least you realized," she replied with a weak smile. My eyes were focused on hers. I couldn't take my eyes off her. I stretched one of my hands toward her "Friends?" She took a while but she shook her hand with mine and mouthed 'friends'. "I am going to ignore the fact that this moment looks quite filmy," she said while smiling widely as she pulled her hand back. "Your eyes look even more beautiful when you cry." She giggled and her perfect teeth came into the view. "That was the most unique compliment I have ever got. But thanks." Her smile is beautiful. "Now, may I know your name,?" I asked. "Trisha Sen." I nodded "Cute.. I am going to call you Tishy, suits you. She nodded with a smile, "Fine by me." I couldn't help but smile,"I am Adhish Armaan by the way." –END OF FLASHBACK– "Adiiiiiiiii" Tishy whisper shouted and pinched my shoulder. "Ouch! What?" I replied while rubbing my shoulder. "Are you even listening to me? I have been rambling and you are just... lost?" I released a heavy breath before hugging her. "Will you miss me? Or you will forget me in the city lights of Texas?" My voice came out as a whisper. "What! No!! Don't talk rubbish, Adi. Look at me." She said but I ignored and kept my body clung with hers. She pulled away from the hug and grabbed my face. She made me look into her eyes. "You are important to me. You know that right?" I sighed and nodded, "I know. It's just... I feel miserable, Tishy. I know we have a long life ahead. We have our careers. I'll be here working with Dad and you will be in Texas, living your dream. And I can't expect you to stick with me for whole damn life but, " I cupped her face while she was hearing me carefully. "I don't wanna lose you. And I don't wanna lose what we have." My eyes were brimming with tears. "You are not losing me, neither our bond. I will call you every day, alright? And you'll come to visit me, I know. At least once in every month?" She giggled at her last statement. "Once in every month? Wow! You know I won't do that, right?" I chuckled. "Ouch! I am offended." She pouted. I laughed and shook my head. I would be lying if I say she doesn't look adorable. "Hell! I am going to miss you badly." "I will miss you more." She gave me an assuring smile before hugging me. When she pulled away I felt a slight sting in my heart. This is gonna get worse. I looked at her and she looked at me. We kept looking at each other without uttering a word. After a few minutes of silence, Trisha sighed and spoke up, "Love is an obsession but friendship is satisfaction and I never want to lose that satisfaction that we have," she said with a wide grin and blurry eyes. I chuckled, "Did you just quoted Alizeh?" "Oh, I did" She laughed. I relaxed in her touch and held her tightly. Little did she know that I wanted to be her Bunny instead of Ayan. I wanted her to be my Naina instead of Alizeh. (A/N: For my readers who are not Indian, I am gonna make it simply short. All of them are characters from movies. Ayan-Alizeh from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil ended up as friends and Bunny-Naina from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ended up as lovers.) The tear rolled down that I was holding for a long time. I am feeling like I'm losing something that was always mine but I never realized how important it is to me. "Will you come to the airport with me?" She said while lying on the bed. I don't wanna have this conversation. I know that she will leave but it hurts to hear it. I didn't reply and laid beside her for a few minutes while looking at her. The way we were looking at each other was different. This gaze was intense. I couldn't stop myself and I shifted my body onto hers. I kept my arms on both of her sides. She took a deep breath when my lips connected with her skin. MyI lips traced her neck and sucked the skin. "Adi" she moaned. I pulled away. My lips were about to meet hers but the creaking sound of the door startled us and we pulled away. I kept laying but Trisha sat and fixed her dress. The door opened and Vani appeared. "I knew it!" She threw her hands in the air while laughing. She jumped on me. "Ouch! Easy tigress" I laughed. "Where is my chocolate? Ishy said you left but I knew you would be here." "Oh really? Ishy is a liar. How can I forget your chocolate?" I looked at Trisha who stood up and walked into the bathroom. I ruined it already I guess. *****
