Veronica's POV I was 22 years old when I got married to Zach herron , it's been an years since we got married . Usually people would be happy about their one year anniversary ,but not in my case No . I tied the knot with him exactly an year ago , it wasn't my will but my father's ,so that he could merge our company with the herron's . A contract is all it took to make me Veronica herron. I was never the disobedient daughter , I was always shy and timid , respectable even and here I am thinking how the heck did I end up here . You'd find it funny if I told you that I haven't seen Zach's face for an year despite living in the same damn house , he had the upper area and I had the lower . I loved someone before all of this , I loved him way too much that I couldn't see him get hurt so I left him without a word . My love , my life Jack Avery, My high school boyfriend . Now my Ex. They say you find your father in the man you Marry , well whoever said that was definitely wrong in so many cases . My dad was amazing , note the past tense , until he gave me up for his company . Parents are children's best friends , mine were , now it's just my mom . I haven't talked to my dad for an year now , everyday I resist myself from calling him and it's always hard . You Know the worst betrayal is the one when it includes your parents . Enough about me and my sad life let's talk about my dear husband Zach herron , heir to the herron and son's the most successful trading company in the states . He is 24 ,an year older than me , if I were to describe him , it would be one word arrogant . He never asked if I was OK in these 12 months. Not that I cared , but still I just wished Jack was him instead of the sloppy old hag . Yes he's hot , ok maybe hot is an understatement , he is good looking and all but his attitude destroys his whole 'I'm a s*x god' look . Knock knock "Yes ?" "The dinner is ready m'lady" Jennifer the maid said . "Can you please bring it in my room ?" "But Mrs Herron , Mr Herron is calling you " she hesitantly said . What does he want from me ? I got up still in my angry birds pyjamas and walked down into the dining room , don't judge ok . I sat down opposite to him and cleared my throat letting him know I'm here . An hour passed by and still he was on his phone , after finishing his dinner he left with just a sentence . "Be ready by 5:00 pm , we're invited to a party tomorrow" he said , not even looking at me . I tried to control it , all the emotions but failed miserably , I got up from my chair and went towards him blocking his way . "You have no rights of making me wait and then just leaving with a sentence " I spat angrily . Once again not looking up at me he pushed me aside harshly and left . I stormed back into my room and screamed , which I've been doing alot lately . Another knock erupted from the door . "What" I roared "I- I- I'm sorry Mrs Herron , but I just came to bring you your dinner which you didn't eat " Jennifer said shakingly . "I'm sorry Jennifer , I didn't mean to scare you it's just- never mind, I appreciate that you're taking care of me " I ended my sentence with a smile . With a nod she left . My phone chimed with my mom's number , immediately I picked it up . "Hai mom " "Hi baby , how are you ? It's been a while since you last called" she said almost sobbing . "Mom is everything alright ?" I asked with a worried tone . "Roni your father , he- he's dead" The phone slipped from my hands and a stream of tears made its way to my cheeks , I knew I was mad at him but why did he have to leave me , leave us .
