Chapter Eleven.

The weekend was finally here.I cant remember the last time i was so eager talk to someone like i am today.So after completing afew chores at home then head to Salm's place.So after i finished i went on to talk to my stepmum and told her I'll be going out.i wanted to talk to Salm about what happened that week and also about the job he was offering.I arrived at his place 30mins later and i found him in the living room watching tv.When he saw me he came to where i was and led me to the leading room.After we've settled down i asked him about the job.He told me I'd be starting the next weekend and about the payment he'll be providing me with everything i needed as payment for my work.So i just had to tell him whatever i needed whether it is for school or any personal use.Seemed like a perfect deal to me but also abit weird.but i had no choice but accept his offer.After that we discussed about the "incident ".I thanked him for helping me that day.Then i asked him where he got a pair of uniform that he gave me.He told me that he had bought it for me to thank me for the help and care i gave him.He said he just hadn't had the chance to give it to me so he kept it and waited for the right time to give me.I thought it was okay and it also came in handy.I don't really know what i would have done.He asked me what really happened and i told him how the whole incident happened.I also told him how virgins are taunted at our school and that was also the one reason that George was after me.He listened to me attentively and he seemed abit shocked at my story. I thanked him again for coming to my rescue.

After our talk we went ahead and had our lunch.After lunch i went to help Amy in the kitchen while the guys went ahead to watch soccer.While in the kitchen we talked about everything and that's when i told her that my birthday was coming up.She asked me what i had planned on the special day.I told her i never really celebrate it i just goes out with my two friends Lydia and Dona.Have some ice cream and call it a day.i just love spending time with them on my special day.Donah stays in a town far away from ours but she always make sure she's here on my special day and that's what makes her special.We met in my former high school where i studied for one term before transferring to my current school.We became friends the first day at the school since we were the only youngest students in that class.so we helped each other in fighting the bullies.Even after i left the school we remained in touch and she was my best friend.Though we never talked alot our friendahip was never ruined.So i couldn't wait to see her.The holidays were about to start and my birthday is always during the start of this vacation.I was carried away talking about Donah and my birthday that i never saw Salm behind us listening to me.After finishing the work in the kitchen i was now ready to leave.But before i left Salm gave me a phone.He told me that it already had a simcard and his  Bill's and Amy's number.I asked why he gave me the phone.He told me it wasn't a favor it was for work purposes.They might call me when am late or even let them know if i wont be coming in and incase they need me and all that.I took it and thanked him.I was so excited about the phone i now had.

I know you are wondering what's the big deal in someone having a cell phone.So to us is a big deal.People who owns even cheapest handset is considered so important.In our school only 20students owns cell phones and for that they are worshipped like gods.Not even the whole population in our town owns cell phones.So yeah its a big deal to have a phone especially a smartphone.So through all the excitement i forgot to ask how it's used because i didnt have an idea of how to even receive a call.Anytime i want to call Donah i just have to go pay someone and he dials her number then give me the phone to talk.so you can imagine how stupid i am.Donah comes from a rich family so she owns one though its not expensive but atleast she has one.So when got home i was so excited i just wanted to stare at the cell phone.I went in our room and there i just sat and stared at it.I didnt want my sister to see it since i had not yet told my dad about it.Also i was afraid that my dad would take it since he also didn't have one.It was so hard for me so i prayed that no one would call me that night.Thankfully no one called that night.The next day after breakfast we went to church after breakfast and when i came back home i found Salm at our place.He was talking to my dad and he had also brought something for him which i couldn't figure out what it was.My dad asked for me.I went to see what he wanted.He asked me to come with the phone i was given by Salm.So i went to where i had hid it that's in my backpack and brought it to him.He knew i didnt know how to use it so he asked Salm to show me the basics.He also told me that he now had one.that Salm bought it for him.I sighed knowing now it was safe for me to use mine at home.Since i knew how to save a number call or decline a call i was good for now.After getting back to our room i saved Donah's number then i called her.I asked about her well being and when her vacation will start.She told me her school will be closing next week just like us.I was happy I'd see her again and couldn't wait.I had really missed this girl.So my dad and Salm talked for a while then Salm left.These two had become so close.So Salm comes at our place frequently.But its okay and am grateful that he never mentioned the incident at the school to my dad or even to any teacher.The whole incident was like it never end3d and not even George talked about it.
