Atom hit the brake and was out of the car before it had even fully stopped. Ash met him. “Boss… I can’t even begin to—”
“Stop. Just tell me what’s happened.” Atom felt the panic in him rise when he saw the ambulance, and Ash told him that Kevin had been attacked by an unknown assailant.
Atom stalked over to his injured security guard. “How? How did he get the jump on you?”
“Mr. Harcourt, he looks completely different to every photo, every description.” Kevin’s face was streaked with blood. “I was watching, but this is a public area, and we can’t stop just anyone. He didn’t approach the alleyway until he was ready to. He’s bigger, a lot of extra weight and his hair…everything is bleached blonde.”
