A Royal Celebration
The magnificent palace was brightly lit, every corner of it had candles and illuminated the alluring colours of the towering palace. One could keep looking at it for the entire day and it still wouldn't be enough. It is truly a beautiful sight. A humongous crowd was gathered in the hall of the palace and yet it isn't running out of space, it could probably accommodate an entire village. Park Jimin, 23, the heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Onaeyama, stands on the balcony away from all these people, in the silence of the night and under the vast sky decorated with stars. "The sky is beautiful, isn't it?" The owner of this voice was Jimin's gorgeous mother, Mrs. Park Sunhee (선희), she is forty-two but looks ten years younger. A perfect woman with wit and mannerisms like no one else, and a mother who unconditionally loves her children. Jimin replies with a nod. His face is expressionless like usual and his gaze fixed on the sky. "Why are you standing here? You know your father will be furious if he sees you here" his mother walks beside him and and rests her hand on Jimin's shoulder. "I know mother, I just find the sky very peaceful and calming to look at, but don't worry I was about to go down and greet the guests" Saying this Jimin leaves his mother on the balcony and walks down the stairs. The further he walked down the noisier it got. With just the noise in his ears he could tell that there was an entire sea of people waiting for him. It was just another victory for us and father had to boast about it to all his friends, when is he going to be the wise old man? It's so annoying to go and greet each one of them and talk to old men who keep asking me to marry their daughters; do they even have any shame? With these thoughts harbouring Jimin's head, he didn't even realise that he was already on the last step. "Good evening Park Jimin haha!" greeted an old looking man with wrinkled skin, and before Jimin could even get the chance to say something, the man pulled him into his embrace. Jimin opened his mouth to say something, but he was interrupted once again. "How are you doing my son?? You've gotten even more charming!! It's a pleasure to meet you again" "Thank you so much Mr. Jeong Bomin, I'm doing pretty well" Jimin flashes a smile at the man who was holding his hand. "Well?? Why do you say that son? I am sure you are doing way better than that. Look at you!! An example of a perfect man, and that grey suit which you are wearing makes you look so much more charming. Actually there is someone I wanted you to meet. Come here, this way" with this being said he pulls Jimin through the crowd and halts before a young lady. "This is my daughter, Jeong Sebin. She is just a little younger to you but that's fine! You two can chat for a while, I'll be over there" the man introduced the two of them and disappeared into the crowd. "Nice to meet you" Jimin held her hand and gave it a gentle kiss. "I've heard a lot about you, your highness" Sebin bowed before him in a respectful manner. "Call me Jimin, I'm fine with that" "So Jimin, the entire kingdom is in praise of your bravery and of course your looks, that can't be overlooked haha" she smiled at him with glimmering eyes. "You flatter me Sebin. You see, I'm not that special, it's just that people here like praising others a little too much" Jimin remained expressionless. The two of them walked further away from the crowd and kept chatting about this and that. Most of the talking was done by Sebin and Jimin was in charge of nodding at intervals. "I didn't even notice!" Sebin exclaimed, "look at where we are! We were so engrossed in our conversation that we came out of the palace haha" But Jimin was well aware of his surroundings and in fact he was the one who intentionally directed Sebin outside the palace, And truth to be told he hadn't even heard any of the things which Sebin had been talking about all along. "Sebin" Jimin suddenly halted. "Is there something you want to say Jimin?" Sebin walked towards him expectantly. "I just want to make this clear. I am well aware of the reason why your father introduced you to me, and I hope I'm not being rude but it's just that I am not ready for this. It's not that I don't like you, it's just I who doesn't want this. I hope you understand Sebin" Sebin's face immediately turned gloomy and she said, "Don't worry Jimin. I completely understand what you mean, and my father, you should ignore him haha. He has been rushing me into this marriage all along. He said that you are a really nice man and I can definitely see that. But I don't want to force you into anything at all. We should take our time." Jimin was dumbfounded; this girl is so stupid, does she not understand??! I clearly said I don't want to marry her!! I'm so done with people... "Let's go inside Jeong Sebin" Jimin took her hand and they both walked inside the palace. This scene made someone really joyous, and that was Jeong Bomin (Sebin's Father). Just when Jimin had stepped into the palace, he heard a familiar voice. "Here you are!" It was the King of Onaeyama, Jimin's father, Park Myunghoon. His demeanour was unyielding, his entire being excluded power and authority, and his eyes held within them the blood of all the men that he had slaughtered with his very own hands. "Excuse me for a while Sebin" Jimin smiled and walked towards his father. "I've been looking for you everywhere" "I was.....busy" Jimin said. "Forget it! Come with me" He started walking away and Jimin followed suit. "Have you heard about the Kingdom of Tian?" Asked Park Myunghoon all of a sudden. "Of course I have. Isn't it that small kingdom just across the Onaeyama alps? They seem harmless to me, what about them? And Father why- Just then a loud howl crept into Jimin's ears. Jimin halted and paid attention to it, and again he heard it, but this time it wasn't just one. "TELL THEM TO PULL UP THE GATES!!!" He commanded the guards nearest to him and ran outside the palace, leaving everyone in the hall shocked. He threw open his suit jacket and ran towards the direction of the towering wall which lay right across the open river, connected through a firm bridge. He swung his arms in the air with force and signalled the guards to close the doors, but because he was too far away, no one understood him. "CLOSE THE DAMN GATES!!" He kept shouting. But it was too late. A loud shriek was heard which immediately made Jimin's hastened footsteps come to a halt. "WE ARE BEING ATTACKED!!!" Screamed a guard who was standing near the gate, he was petrified and his eyes went wide in horror, his eyes were fixed on something outside the gate. He screamed again, as loud as he could, for everyone to hear, "WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!! MINOTAURS ARE HERE!!!!" MINOTAURS??! NO WAY! I can't let them get inside, there are a lot of people in the palace! With this in mind, Jimin sprinted towards the guard, and pushed him aside when he saw that the guard was armless. "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING!? GO INSIDE AND GET SOME MEN! IMMEDIATELY!!" Jimin ordered him with utmost authority, and drew his sword from the scabbard. Uh-Oh There are more than ten of them! I can't take them alone, I need some men on my side but no ones here!! The Minotaurs were busy feeding on the remains of the guard whom they had just devoured, the sight was nauseating. Their mouths were covered in the blood of that man whose bones only remained. Were they driven by so much hunger that they had to come all the way here to Onaeyama in order to eat human flesh?? What on earth is going on? Minotaurs never bothered with humans before... Though they have taken many lives, but it was purely for the joy of it or during a war. What's with the sudden attack? There is no time to waste; Jimin held his sword in his right hand and walked through the gates. Due to the sudden movements, the Minotaurs were alarmed. They turned to look at Jimin with their bloodshot eyes, and blood was dripping from their protruding mouths. Their horns were sharper than ever, and could easily tear a man into half with just one strike. Jimin walked in their direction fearlessly and held up his sword, right before the perfect bridge of his nose. His iris changed into a brilliant golden, burying the black deep within, and reflected light on the metal surface of the sword. Just when one of the Minotaur sprint towards Jimin in order to attack him, Jimin's grip around the sword tightened and he felt immense power rushing through his veins, he swung his sword at the Minotaur with excellent skill. A sharp sound of the sword, cutting through the skin into the flesh, was heard, which was followed by the sound of the Minotaur crashing onto the ground. The satisfaction made Jimin get pumped with energy, and his sword was craving for more blood.
