Hades’s POV Once his finger grazed her skin, I saw red. Anger flew through my veins as I snapped my fingers. Darkness fell upon the entire club and a 3-block radius. Darkness was something that I was accustomed to. It was where I worked, where I thrived. In the darkness, I could accomplish the most abhorrent things. Take life from one of the living souls that tainted the Earth. I was the only god granted this power; the power of death and the underworld demanded it. Not even Zeus himself could take life, many could say I was the stronger god, and indeed I was. I just didn’t let it be known to all. There were screams as the club was in darkness; with the snap of my fingers, Gwen fell asleep, falling into Niko’s arms. My body was repulsed that he would hold her to his chest. I slowly walked the steps, the emergency lights guiding me to the stage. Every soul stood in fear, along with my gods and demon. Niko looked up to me in fear, fear that I was going to put harm upon this innocent woman. My jaw ticked, and I held my arms out to pick her up. John Oliver stood barely to my shoulders as he stood quietly as I carried her with one arm under her legs and the other behind her back. She was cradled into my chest, her light breaths brushing my neck. Feeling an instant calm come over me, I knew I had to complete the mission as set out originally to do. “Mr. Oliver, I need a word with you. Immediately.” My voice was low and thick. If it weren’t for finding the Helm, he would have been dead the moment he thought about touching her. “Y-yes sir, this way.” Niko, Hermes, Ares, and Vulcan stood in shock as I took Gwen with me to the back. I looked back at them and nodded my head. That was their cue to free the girls from their bondage while Niko followed me to the back to carry on with our plan. There was going to be a bonfire tonight. John led us to his office, covered in papers, stains, and food. The man had no pride in his things; all he saw were dollar signs. Niko walked in the room and took off his jacket, and laid it on the couch as I gently laid Gwen on it while I laid my own jacket on top of her naked skin. She looked so peaceful sleeping, small puffs of breath came from her lips, and her eyelashes twitched in movement. Moving a piece of stray hair from her face, I felt the warm tingle go through my fingers. She was breath-taking, and I wanted her. I wanted her to be mine. Standing up, I unbuttoned my cuff links and rolled up my sleeves. John was looking rather disheveled as he sat behind his desk. The worry lines on his face made him look older and his face larger, if possible. The lights were flickering on off from the emergency lights. No doubt because he never has them serviced. Niko stood by Gwen, protecting her. Still not aware of his intentions, I gave him a low growl in warning as he took a few steps away from her. His head was bowed, and a smirk played on his lips. Brushing my hair back, the clicking of my Italian leather shoes stopped to the front of John’s desk. Leaning over with my hands as a support, I spoke to the snake in front of me, “Where. Is. The. Helm.” I said deeply, low. His shaking became worst as he spoke of the relic. “I-I don’t know what you are talking about,” he sputtered like the p***y he was. I chuckled darkly and ripped the fake hair from his head. “Oh, but you do. I have on good account you do know where it is, John Oliver.” John winced and rubbed his head. “Do you know who I am?” I raised to a standing position, crossing my arms. My eyes were ablaze, my eyes immediately turning into a glowing red. Dark smoke was falling from my 6’7’’ frame. The fire in my fingertips were oozing, setting small pieces of his paperwork ablaze. “A-a demon?” He cried, almost wetting himself. His body was shaking uncontrollably. “No, no, no…” I rounded the desk, taunting him. “I am the king of the demons,” I elongated a claw and scratched the hardwood finish off his desk as I neared. John’s breath became harsh, his heart beating quickly. It was only a matter of time before he had a heart attack, just as the fates had predicted before arriving here. “I’m mother f*****g Hades,” I smiled. “Now, where is the Helm? Don’t lie to me,” I growled out warningly. “It’s here, and it is here. Please don’t kill me!” He opened the drawer, and my helm was sitting in the lower part of the desk. I ripped it from his hands and threw it at Niko. “Now about that, not killing you,” I said quietly. “I won’t personally kill you.” John grabbed his chest and started coughing. “No, your time was up anyway. However, I don’t think your time is over with me yet. The fun,” I leaned into where our noses were touching, “has just begun.” I slammed my fist on the desk, causing it to break into two and grew into flames. The loud noise didn’t even wake the angel on the couch. John was sputtering, holding his chest and falling quickly to the floor. My flames quickly engulfed him while he screamed for mercy. If only he knew what was really coming.  Wrapping my jacket around Gwen, I picked her up again and led her to the outside of the club. It was completely dark, except for the emergency lights. The women had left, cops were on the outside taking statements from the stolen girls. Many of them crying, wrapped in blankets. The men who bought the girls were sitting in police cars. Hermes and Ares stood by our black limo and opened the door. Sitting inside the limo and holding her close, the rest of my men came in with me to head back to my penthouse suite in town. Niko had been staying there. He better not have f****d anything up. “What’s the plan, Hades?” Niko asked as I pet Gwen’s hair. Sitting up straighter and closing my eyes, there was a loud explosion that came from once was the Olive and Twist and Strips. People were screaming in fear, running away from the flames. Several buildings beside it were now on fire as the fire burned hot. Opening my eyes again, Niko and his friends looked on in worry. “Back to the penthouse,” I whispered. “Hades, what is it with this girl?” Hermes spoke softly, not to anger me. “What do you feel for her?” I continued to look at her face, and small, tiny freckles danced on her skin. She was as light as a feather, obviously malnourished. Her body spread warmth within mine just by holding her. “I don’t know,” I whispered again as my thumb went across her cheek. “…but I’m going to find out.” Gwen’s POV Feeling something plush underneath me, I gave a slight moan. It felt so good, and it even smelled good. I was able to stretch my body like a starfish, I have so much room, and I don’t even feel like I’m close to falling off the bed. A few bones in my back popped as a faint smile fell on my face. I must be dreaming, and I don’t want to wake up. The haze was starting to wake up, the place where you are half asleep and half-dreaming. Coming too, I realized that I wasn’t on my old, broken cot that slightly leaned to the left. In fact, it felt too good to be that cot. Blinking my eyes a few times and keeping them open, I notice the room I am in is not anything I have ever seen before. The room was dim, the lamps only providing minimal light. Enough to look around the room but have difficulty reading. The walls were a deep blue, and the sheets on my body were a silver color. They felt so smooth against my skin as I played with the hem on the top of the sheet. The bed was larger than 10 of my cots alone, all this room for me? My thoughts of last night started rushing back. The auction, standing in front of all those men, being called horrible names such as slut and w***e. Someone had bought me and bought me for more money than Master had ever received. It was that same man I saw when I left my last table of the night. His face was handsome, and he looked a bit older with dark stubble on his jawline. His hair was a bit unkempt, like he ran his fingers through his hair one too many times. There were worry lines or possibly angry lines that made him much older than he probably was. Once I glanced into his dark eyes that were hard and stoic, they softened. This man had been through a lot, that was for sure. His eyes were deep pools of darkness, ones that I could easily drown in.  My own soul continued to be pulled by him and pointed right into the blackness. Him, my soul continued to whisper. The more I stared, the more questions I had; he was just a customer of a strip club. Nothing good could come from a man like that, especially since he bought me.  In that stupid VIP room, along with his friend Niko. God, Niko. I thought he was my friend, but it all ended up for naught. He was just like the rest of them, getting his in with Master so he could buy one of us. My heart hitched as a faint sob left my lips. I had felt alone before. I’ve always been alone, but I thought Niko was different. He never hit on me, slapped my rear-end as I walked by. He was honestly nice and tipped well. Probably thinking I was able to keep it. But now, now I was more alone than ever. He was just there to enjoy the spoils of his own friend. Did they buy me together? They all seemed close before I passed out. What kind of sick world is this? If only it would end for me. That’s all I want right now. I haven’t been able to catch a break in so long, and now I was going to become a s*x doll and give up the last part of me that I held onto. Before I could continue with my pity party, there was a knock at the door. I jumped and tried to scoot my body to the furthest side of the bed but quickly stopped when I felt a pull on my hand. There was a needle in my arm along with a plastic tube. Are they drugging me? “Hello,” the deep velvet voice spoke at the door. There was light pouring in the door, and with the darkness that was surrounding me, I could only see the outline of his body against the light. His hands were in his pockets, standing there, waiting patiently. I pulled my legs up and wrapped my arms around me. Only to notice I was wearing a large black t-shirt that swallowed my whole body. A few tears left my eyes as he began to walk closer. His hands were still in his pockets, but you could hear the clicking of his shoes. “I’m sorry if I startled you,” his baritone voice spoke. “How are you feeling?” The voice held concern, but I knew not to trust it. Men liked to play with women’s emotions, and I knew he would be just the same. “Fine,” I whispered. Even though it was just a faint sound, he heard it and came more into the light so I could see his face. It was Niko’s mystery friend. His eyes were still dark and didn’t hold onto the stoic face he had earlier. There was a faint smile on his lips as he sat down at the end of the bed. I jumped a bit and slid back farther into the headboard. “I’m not here to hurt you,” he said slowly. “I wanted to get you out of there, and I’m not going to do anything you don’t want.” My heart was beating rapidly; my breathing was a bit unstable. I don’t know how long I was out for, but I was certainly feeling dizzy. “Gwen,” my name rolled off his tongue. “It’s alright. No one will hurt you now,” he continues to coo at me. More tears escaped my eyes. That is the only emotion I could have without beating too badly. “That’s what they all say,” I whispered again as I hugged my legs tighter. The man’s hand balled into a fist and a few deep breaths were blown in and out of his nose. His strong features softened again, and he rolled his shoulders. “I’ll be sure that it doesn’t happen again,” he paused. “I’m sure you are hungry. Niko will bring in your food in a moment.” His voice was a bit rougher than earlier. The man stood up and buttoned his suit jacket and walked to the door without saying another word and shut the door.
