The Brave Knight – Part Four
The Knight’s Destiny
Chapter One – A Kingdom at Peace
Many months had passed since Sir Cedric and the dragon Morvath brought peace back to Eldoria. The kingdom slowly became beautiful again. Farmers rebuilt their farms, merchants reopened their shops, and children once again laughed in the streets.
Morvath no longer spread fear across the land. Instead, the great dragon used his strength to help the people. He lifted heavy stones to rebuild broken bridges and guarded the kingdom from dangerous creatures that came from the mountains.
At first, many people were still afraid of him. Whenever Morvath flew across the sky, villagers hurried indoors and closed their doors tightly. But Cedric believed the dragon deserved a second chance.
One evening, King Alfred stood beside Cedric on the palace balcony.
“You have done something no knight before you could do,” the king said proudly. “You ended hatred without destroying your enemy.”
Cedric smiled quietly. “Peace is stronger than war, Your Majesty.”
Far away beyond the mountains, however, a new darkness was beginning to rise.
Chapter Two – The Shadow Army
Deep inside the ruined lands of Black Hollow lived a cruel sorcerer named Malgrin. For years, he had hidden in darkness, gathering power and building an army of shadow warriors.
When Malgrin heard that Eldoria was finally peaceful again, anger burned inside him.
“The kingdom is weak,” he hissed. “Now is the perfect time to conquer it.”
Using dark magic, Malgrin created terrifying creatures from smoke and shadows. Giant wolves with glowing red eyes roamed the forests while dark soldiers marched beneath black banners.
Soon, travelers began disappearing near the borders of Eldoria. Villages reported strange lights in the night and whispers coming from the woods.
Cedric knew danger was returning.
One morning, a wounded messenger arrived at the castle.
“Black Hollow has awakened,” the messenger cried before collapsing.
The great hall became silent.
King Alfred turned toward Cedric. “We may need your courage once again.”
Cedric placed his hand on the hilt of Lightbringer.
“I will protect Eldoria,” he promised.
Chapter Three – The Return of Courage
Cedric prepared for another dangerous journey. This time, however, he would not travel alone.
To everyone’s surprise, Morvath stepped forward.
“I owe this kingdom a debt,” the dragon said deeply. “I will fight beside the knight.”
Some soldiers protested immediately.
“We cannot trust a dragon!” one shouted.
But King Alfred raised his hand.
“Morvath has already proven his loyalty,” the king declared.
Together, Cedric and Morvath traveled toward Black Hollow. Along the way, they passed burned villages and frightened people hiding inside their homes.
One night beside the campfire, Cedric spoke quietly to the dragon.
“Do you ever regret the destruction you caused before?” he asked.
Morvath lowered his head sadly.
“Every day,” he answered. “That is why I must help stop this evil.”
Cedric realized the dragon had truly changed.
Chapter Four – The Battle of Black Hollow
After several days, Cedric and Morvath finally reached Black Hollow. Dark clouds covered the sky, and lightning flashed across the ruined towers of Malgrin’s fortress.
Shadow soldiers rushed toward them from every direction.
Cedric raised Lightbringer, and the magical sword burst with golden light. He fought bravely against the shadow army while Morvath soared through the skies, breathing fire against the dark creatures below.
The battle shook the earth itself.
At the center of the fortress stood Malgrin, wearing a cloak as black as night.
“You are too late!” the sorcerer laughed. “Soon all kingdoms will belong to me.”
Malgrin raised his staff, sending waves of dark magic toward Cedric. The young knight barely avoided the attack.
For hours the battle continued. Cedric became tired and wounded, but he refused to surrender.
Then Morvath landed beside him.
“Together,” the dragon growled.
Cedric nodded.
With one final charge, Cedric struck Malgrin’s staff using Lightbringer while Morvath’s fire shattered the fortress walls. A powerful explosion of light filled the sky.
When the smoke disappeared, Malgrin and his shadow army were gone forever.
Chapter Five – The Knight’s Destiny
Cedric and Morvath returned to Eldoria as heroes once again. This time, the people welcomed the dragon with cheers instead of fear.
King Alfred gathered the entire kingdom in the royal courtyard.
“Today,” the king announced, “we honor not only a brave knight, but a true hero whose courage saved us all.”
He placed a golden medal around Cedric’s neck.
From that day forward, stories of Sir Cedric spread across every kingdom. Children dreamed of becoming knights like him, while songs were sung about the friendship between the brave knight and the mighty dragon.
As for Morvath, he became the guardian of Eldoria, protecting the kingdom from danger high above the clouds.
And though many years passed, the legend of the brave knight never faded — because true heroes are remembered not for the battles they fight, but for the peace they bring. The Brave Knight – Part Four
