Elliot Harris is newly 18, and searching for his Luna. He attends a hybrid school, that allows both humans and wolves from local packs to attend. Thankfully, they get along well in society. He is about to test that theory fully, and doesn’t know it. Scarlet Jennings is 17, with her 18th birthday (shared with her twin brother) coming up soon. She’s about to experience a life she never expected.

1. Elliot
“s**t,” I yelled. Another f*****g warrior managed to pin me. “How the hell are you going to become Alpha if they can still catch you by surprise?” my wolf asked me. Truth is, I don’t know. My name is Elliot Harris. I just turned 18, and thankfully, unless something horrible happens or I find my mate, I won’t become Alpha until I’m 21. My father has me in training every day after school and for at least five hours a day on the weekend to make sure I’m ready when the time comes. Since I’m of alpha blood, I have a uniquely strong wolf. His name is Eden, and he helps me when we train. He’s interesting though. Eden is a silver wolf. From what I’ve learned, they are not common. I go to the local high school called Marion High School. I live on the packlands of the Silver Night Pack, the pack that will soon be mine. My mother and father are Luna and Alpha, and we also have a Beta and Gamma, family friends who I've known my whole life. My parents’ friend Jacob is our Beta, with his wife and mate Sarah. Their other friend Victor is our Gamma, with his husband and mate Alex. It’s weird thinking that in a few years, they won’t be in power anymore and I need to choose the next Beta and Gamma. If all goes well, I’ll find my mate by then. “Yeah, if you can manage to f*****g fight maybe,” Eden scoffs. “Thanks, asshole.” “Just sayin’,” he says with a smirk. Training is almost over, thank the Goddess. I just want to go home, take a nice shower, and prepare myself for tomorrow’s chemistry exam. I am terrible at chemistry, and most other human subjects honestly. Since Marion is on neutral ground, I attend a human school - with humans. There are a couple of other packs that also go there, which is interesting. Good thing we get along, I guess. Hard to have a bunch of future alpha’s there, but we manage. Along with my core classes (chemistry, trigonometry, global history, and English), I take a few courses related to wolves - history of the pack, dynamics of the general pack hierarchy, and the basic history of wolves in general. The classes about wolves tend to be electives, but since I’m a future Alpha I am required to take them. Other future Alpha’s in the school, along with Beta, Gamma, and Luna bloodlines need to take them as well to make sure we can handle our roles. However, students of Luna bloodlines do more home-ec-type classes and focus on the community of the pack. Betas and Gammas take some Alpha classes, some Luna classes, and general administration and warrior courses (since you know, the Beta is the one in charge of the warriors as well). Humans, pack members, and omegas have it easy. They can take these for fun, but we have to or we can’t be sworn into our positions. “Stop thinking about school and FOCUS. We need to pay attention to our surroundings, Father set up this course to test our reflexes,” Eden scowls. He’s right. Right now, I am running through the woods of our pack, with some obstacles in the route. My dad has set up some of our warriors to come at me at random, to test my abilities in fending them off and hunting. So far, three out of five have gotten me. I think…no, I know I can smell one to my left, maybe twenty feet away behind a tree. I need to keep my eye out, without giving away that I know his position. Okay…He’s gaining on me, it’s ti- Too late. He managed to jump out of nowhere and pin me. f**k. He wasn’t this close a second ago, was he? “Four of six,” Eden growls. “f**k off, I know.” “Shut your mind off and focus on the area. Breathe kid. We can do this. Four more are left.” I take a deep breath and continue to run, dodging some projectiles and jumping over tree stumps and branches. Thankfully, I ended up finishing training by letting Eden help me. We managed to get the last four. Hey, 6/10 is better than nothing. Thank Goddess now I can shower. The hot water feels amazing. It’s only 7:30, so after that I need to eat dinner and study. Hopefully, I can sleep a bit before school, but I doubt it. Like I said, I am awful at chemistry. I will be lucky if I don’t need to pull another all-nighter to study for this stupid f*****g exam.
