The Super Alpha

Growing up, I always felt a little different. Well, for one thing, I could always smell everything. Now that could be a cool power if I were a hero but I'm just Axel, the kid with issues. Then I began noticing that everything about me was changing. My eyes used to be light grey but are now a darker shade of grey. My thoughts get interrupted by the bell signalling the end of the school day. It is always a little too loud for me. As I left the classroom, my friend Cole caught up with me and together we walked to the school exit. He has been my best friend. For a long time now. We walked to his car but I told him that I wanted to walk home today. " what? But your home is two whole miles away. " he said looking very concerned but I waved his concern off. To tell you the truth, I wanted to test my speed. I recently discovered some interesting things about me and now I want to test my limits but I have been craving meat more lately. I took off running into the forest as it is a shortcut to my home. When I reached a few yards away from my house I slowed down. It was as though everything was in slow motion and it was exciting. I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of my phone ringing and I answered it. On the other side was Cole "Yo dude where are you? " he asked me I couldn't let him find out about my speed now. So I came up with an excuse "Uh... I took a shortcut. I've reached home. " At dinner my grandmother had prepared Chicken which I managed to eat in only three bites whoa that's new. " Hungry Axel? " my grandmother asked me "Yes, very much. " I responded and she made a move as though to serve me the last piece of chicken but I stopped her saying that I was full. I then excused myself from the table. I quickened my pace to my room and pulled out my home workbooks to put the fishing touches on my assignment which is due tomorrow I don't want to be on Mr Anderson's bad side, if anything I would like to be as invisible to him as possible but that's a little hard to do since most of the girls in my class like flocking around me and he had to shoo them away at the start of every history class like today, I counted about ten girls. I won't name anyone, you might know them. I don't blame them. Then, I just wish they wouldn't draw attention to me but they insist on walking close to me and sitting next to me during class and the only break I get is lunch cause I have it in the library. Today at dinner Granny was being a bit unusual. She didn't do the things she normally does like questioning me about how my day was she seems like she knows something I don't and I want to know what but maybe I can find out tomorrow cause right now, I can hear my bed calling me. So that will have to wait. I'm not sure what time I fell asleep but I do remember the dream I had very strange I must say, I wonder what it means. Anyway, I had a dream about a family, I could hear a baby crying while his mother tried to push him it seemed important that he keep quiet because it appears as though they were hiding from something or someone. Finally, the baby keeps quiet and for a few minutes they are safe and then a furry hand reaches out with sharp claws and grabs her by the neck pulling her away from the baby. The dream ends with the lady screaming. And that's when I woke up with a start I realised that my body was full of sweat huh? But it's not even hot tonight. In the morning, Granny was waiting for me at the door which I found odd seeing as Can find out Tomorrow cause right now I can hear my bed calling me, so that will have to wait. During breakfast, Granny looked at me as though she could see that something was troubling me. Well, in all honesty, I just couldn't shake that dream. "Granny, can I ask you a question? " I asked after I greeted her. " of course Axel, you can ask anything," she replied. Well, I was just wondering, what happened to my mom I asked a question I had asked many times before when I was young and she always told me that I was too young to understand. But I guess that I'm older now, and she might give me the reply I'm looking for. " ah dear your mother sacrificed herself to save you and your father. Now hurry and go to school or you'll be late now hurry. " she said without pressing her for any more information, I hurriedly left the house after bidding her farewell. When I reached about two yards from the house, I found Cole waiting in his car, no doubt he was waiting for me and gestured to me to get into the car which I did after greeting him. And asking him about his night. He informed me that he spent a good amount of his night online playing games. " Bro did you do the assignment?" he asked me to which I nodded. Throughout the car ride to school, Cole spoke while I listened. When we arrived at school, I tried to sneak into school without being seen and I was almost successful. I was so close to the door when one girl noticed me and pointed me out to her other friends and they all came flocking towards me. I realised this was dangerous and took off down the hall towards the boy's washroom at full speed or so they thought because, at the last moment, I turned the corner and headed to class just as the bell rang. Robbing them of the chance to walk or sit with me before class. It's our last day here before the break off for the holiday and we already took our college entrance exams.
