“Father, I cannot do what you ask of me! No one dares to tell me what to do! Not even you!” Damien Blackwood, the CEO of Blackwood Empire yelled as he rose from his seat and stormed out of the room.
“I am not done talking!” his father, Mr Blackwood shouted after him in a stern tone as he placed the cigar in the ash tray.
When Damien got out, he headed for his vehicle and drove out in anger. The meeting with his father had ended on a bad note as usual.
No one cared about his opinion, even his father. The old man was only bent on imposing his thoughts on him even when he was not interested.
“Camille has all it takes too. She has a million dollar profit company, she is beautiful and…what more do you need?” he recalled his father asking.
Damien grip hardened around the steering wheel. He was not interested in anyone, not Camille or even any lady. Worse still, what his father wanted for him was only for the profit of his company, nothing else.
“Everything I do is for your benefit and the good of the company! Who do you think would be willing to accept a marriage proposal from you?”
Damien scoffed hard.
Who wouldn't want someone like him? Thousands of girls were dying to meet him and even lots of them wanted more than that, so how could his father conclude so quickly?
He let out a sigh as he hit the accelerator hard. The clouds had darkened and it was beginning to rain hard, but Damien wanted to get home and immerse himself in work, the only thing that could make him forget about all that had happened.

It was cold and late into the night and Aria sat by the bus stop, awaiting the last bus, or so she thought because she had been sitting for hours without a glimpse of any.
Her phone had run out of battery and even worse, it had begun to rain heavily.
Aria bit her lips as she shivered from the cold and from the fact that she might end up sleeping out. She had been thrown out of her house by her now ex-husband, the man she thought loved her. And now she was all alone with only one place on her mind to go, her best friend's house. But that was if the bus was going to appear, or if the rain was ever going to stop soon.
As her mind went over all that had happened in the span of two hours, she could not help but blame herself for believing she could actually make things right. She had been delusional, too delusional to notice the cracks in her husband's almost perfect frame.
Her thoughts drifted back to when they first met. It has been love at first sight for her. And after they got married, she had dreamt of spending her whole life with him and their children. However, it was just their third year anniversary and everything shattered.
Aria shivered, a new set of tears forming and threatening to fall out. She clutched her gown tightly with her hands, hoping it would resist her from crying, but it was too late as hot tears streamed down her eyes.
“What do I do to deserve this?” she asked herself.
Where exactly had she gone wrong?
Just as she was about to find an answer to that, a flash of light filled the street. Aria sat up quickly with hope in her eyes for the bus.
Suddenly, she frowned, it wasn't the bus. It was a car and as it passed her, it splashed a bucket sized water on her. Aria wiped her face, cussing the driver for adding more to her problem. Now she was drenched in dirty rain water with no hope of changing anytime soon.
All of a sudden she paused when she heard a sound approaching her. She caught sight of a figure walking towards her with an umbrella in hand. When she peered further, her gaze met the same vehicle that had just sprayed her a few seconds ago.
Aria clenched her jaws in anger.
“Hi, I came to apologize–”
“For what? For making my life more miserable than it already is?”
The man furrowed his brows, trying to make out what she was saying.
“I was not trying to make you feel miserable or anything. I just was not paying any attention to you while driving.”
“As always.” Aria said, her voice driving towards an angry tone. “All men are the same. You act like you care when you don't really care.”
The man walked closer to her.
“Are you alright? You seem stranded and it is late.” he said, when she did not say anything,he pressed on, “look, I want to apologize for my behaviour but it seems you are not taking it. If you would permit, I'll like to take you home and–”
“And what?” Aria said as she moved a bit from him, “you think you can have your chance with any lady you meet?”
Then she chuckled, “no, thank you. I will rather wait here for the bus to come.”
“It is past 9 pm. You won't see any till tomorrow.”
Aria's heart skipped a beat. Was it really true?
She had never taken the bus before since she was a housewife so how was she supposed to know?
“I can give you an accommodation and tomorrow you leave.”
Aria turned to him. “Thank you, Mr. Caring, but I am not like those ladies you think you can wrap easily around your finger.”
The man shrugged.
“Suit yourself then.” he said and began to walk away.
When he was a few distances away, Aria began to regret her decision. She wanted to call him back and accept his help, but she couldn't since the sound of the rain hindered her from doing so.
She was all alone in the dark with nowhere to go. Just then the rain subsided and Aria got up quickly ready to find the nearest shelter before it would begin again.
Before she could leave, she heard some voices behind her and turned. Aria caught sight of two men, probably drunkards from the way they staggered towards her. They approached her with eyes filled with lust.
When one of them got close to her, he smiled evilly.
“What is a sexy lady like you doing out here at this time of the night?”
