[Gideon's P.O.V]
I was so pissed at my friends because they are planning on harassing my crush. We are five guys on campus and athletes in the senior year of high school. Mickey (The black guy) and I have been best buddies for sometime now and because of we being close buddies I couldn't neglect his idea of joining the team. Although I move with the popular guys, I don't really agree with certain actions they take.
This morning I was with the guys when they planned on harassing Nerly till senior year is over. I objected to that strongly and it brought a misunderstanding between us. Since all four of them were against me, I decided to leave them to it but had my own plan. Mickey came up to me since he was kind of the bossy one among us.
"You have never expressed how you object to and decision we take like you did about Nerly this morning, tell me bro do you feel something for her?" Mickey asked with a smirk on his face.
"Don't be silly Mickey, you know me so you should know better." I snapped at him which got him surprised. I'm sorry bro I didn't mean to but I just don't know." I replied in a calmer tone.
"If so then we'll do whatever we want" Mickey said sharply and left without another word.
[Mickey's P.O.V]
This guy is behaving strangely of late and I need to get him back to his senses, I thought to myself. Gideon decided to ignore us after the discussion we had this morning and missed today's class. I don't know where he was and he wasn't answering my calls too. It's quiet surprising he came around for lunch and decided to join the cutest girl on campus and her best friend rather than coming over to us at our usual table. Gideon and I have been friends and I know him inside out but the fact that he's denying his feelings for the girl is what I don't understand. Nerly is a pretty girl, intelligent, caring, shy and the one thing that most people are attracted to above all these is her angelic voice. Most of the guys fall for it anytime they hear her speak but it's quiet unfortunate that she doesn't really like talking. Other than being asked a question the only person she speaks with is Sandy her best friend. These two are very intimate and I really admire them alot.
"...Then I'll have to force you to do so" I knew who that voice belonged to, Gideon of course. But why would he do that? I thought to myself. The girls left us because it was time for the next lecture but we didn't make any attempt to go for class. A smirk grew on my face when I saw Gideon defending Nerly.
"Calm down bro, we just want to have fun with the little cutie, it's high time she becomes one of us" I said with my smirk growing wider when as Gideon clench his fist and grits his teeth.
"You can play around with anyone but not them" Gideon replied and gave each of them one last glace before he stated "STAY AWAY FROM NERLY AND HER FRIEND".
[Sandy's P.O.V]
Nerly and I headed home in my car to go get my stuff so that I can move in with her for the next two months. We were super excited to be together for such long period because we had a lot to talk about although we always saw each other. "So what do we do since today is a Friday?" I asked Nerly during the ride.
"Okay, how about a movie night with popcorns" Nerly replied because she loves movies.
And besides that is what we did almost every Friday at Nerly's house. You may be wondering why we always choose Nerly's house, okay it's simple! Nerly is always with her family because she goes nowhere without escort.
We arrived home and were greeted with my Mom in the kitchen since she promised to prepare something for us before we finally left.
"Good afternoon mom" I greeted my mom which she replied with a kiss on my forehead.
"Good afternoon Mrs Green" Nerly greeted shyly leaving my mom to roll her eyes.
"Nerly my dear, I've told you to feel free with me and stop calling me Mrs Green. Call me Marie because you are my daughter too. Come here." Mom said giving Nerly a hug and a kiss as well.
"Thanks ma'am" Nerly replied making me giggle.
We headed to my room after exchanging greetings with my mom. Nerly almost trembled when Bella my kid sis run to hug her. Everyone in the family loves Nerly and I know she loves then too.
"Becareful Bella or both of you will be rushed to the hospital" Mom yelled from the kitchen with Bella laughing happily because she just met her favorite sister as she always say. Nerly and Bella have become very close that at times I feel jealous of their intimacy. Bella always makes me know that although she loves me but she'll always love Nerly more because they have so much in common. She sees her as her size since she's not too tall and she's more cool and talks like her. We finally got to my room with Bella ranting about nothing in particular and Nerly listening quietly to her and nodding and making gestures to encourage her to continue.
After packing we had snack before we headed to Nerly's home. Bella cried to go with us so my mom decided to drop us at Nerly's with Danny and Bella as our escorts. We got there in about 30mins and Henry helped with my suitcase. Nerly mostly shared her room with although there were other rooms so that was where my belongings were sent. My Mom and Mrs Holes were also good friends so they chat whiles I got settled. After unpacking my belongings I went to say goodbye to my family whiles Nerly made a promise to her dear friend to visit her often.
[Nerly's P.O.V]
I was still thinking of what happened on campus today. First, Gideon joined us for lunch. Secondly, he went against his friends just to defend us.
"What is wrong with you girl, are you listening to my at all" Sandy said shaking me lightly.
"Sorry dear, but I don't understand what happened earlier. Why was Gideon defending us and literarily protected us from being bullied by his own friends" I said.
"I understand your dilemma my dear but know that Gideon is different from his friends. He's cool and intelligent, and come to think of it most of the troubles caused by his friends he's not part" Sandy reasoned.
"What if he wants to stay away from them?" She asked.
"But why the sudden change" I questioned back.
"Let's say he has a little crush here" she replied making me blush.
"I don't think so...... but enough of him let's go get something to eat I'm hungry already." I said.
We had our dinner and got popcorns and whatever we'll need whiles we headed back to my room to enjoy our movie.
