My Journey To Real Love

[Nerly's P.O.V] It's the last day of school for the week and my bestie and I gotta have fun before we leave for our various homes. I am Nerly Holes and my bestie is Sandy Green. We're in the senior year in high school and are preparing to go to college after our last semester is done. We became friends at age 7 and we've been friends since then, you're guessing our ages right? Don't worry I'll tell you we're both 18years but Sandy is two months older than me. Although we don't stay close to each other we always get in touch and hang out on weekends. The only difference between Sandy and I is the fact that I have two brothers and the second born but Sandy on the other hand was the first born with a kid brother and a baby sister. I am the little princess in my family and the apple of my daddy's eye. I live with my parents and two brothers and everyone in the family is overprotective of me because I'm very sensitive and emotional. I woke up excited because it's Friday, 'yay' don't get me wrong, I just love weekends. I came out of my room after getting ready for school and headed downstairs for breakfast before I leave. "Good morning Mr and Mrs Holes" I greeted my parents who were already seated at the dining table with a kiss on the cheek. "Good morning princess, how was your night?" my Daddy asked. "Awesome thanks, hope you two had a wonderful night" I asked my parents leaving my brothers roll their eyes which left my parents giggling. "It was wonderful my dear" Mommy replied this time around blushing. I walked over to my brother and took my seat between them after giving them a tap on the shoulder each. After breakfast with my family, Henry had to drop us to school since I wasn't allowed to drive to school all by myself the reason being that I don't need to stress myself with driving. My Daddy suggested he gets a driver for me but after several pleading, my loving brother, Henry, volunteered to be my personal driver taking me to school and picking me up after school. My kid brother is just two years younger than me but behaves as if he was older. I took the passenger seat whiles Fred took the back seat in Henry s car. I got to campus to be met at the Hallway by Sandy smiling widely at me. We exchanged greetings and she gave me a bone crashing hug which left me breathless. We were both excited about moving to college but the only difference here is that Sandy would like to be close to her family whiles I want to go to college elsewhere. After we exchanged greetings Sandy finally let go of me. "Guess what" Sandy said with a bright smile on the face. "You know I'm good at guessing but when it comes to you I'm not so do me the honor by telling me" I replied acting sad. "Okay, okay, My dad has agreed with me spending our last days in high school with you since we'll be separated after two months, so...." Sandy replied jumping around happily. "So...???" I inquired. "....Right after class today I can be with you till we're done with high school which is two months" Sandy shouted drawing the attention of our colleagues. "That is great news" I said equally happy. The bell rang for our first lectures and we all rushed in for classes to begin. We took our usual seat that is on the first row second seat. Soon enough the lecture was in class but the popular boys weren't. They are always late for class and we're used to they seeking for attention wherever they find themselves. The popular guys are athletes who are fond of missing classes most of the time. They are five guys and I can't tell who is who because I don't pay attention to any of them. There's this one tall guy who seems cool and he's the only one who doesn't get into trouble. He's tall and more masculine and has girls drooling over him but he pays no attention to them. Although he's one of the popular guys, he seems different in so many ways. Speaking of the devil, the guy's entered when it was almost time for lunch break but this time around they were four instead of five. All four guys moved to their seats at the far end of the class ignoring the presence of the lecturer. During lunch break Sandy and I walked hand in hand to the cafeteria taking our usual seat. We were happily chatting when the 'handsome popular guy' came to our table to take a seat next to me. He introduced himself as Gideon and asked if he could join us. Sandy was the one who replied by saying "as if you'd leave if we asked you not to". I just shook my head as Sandy giggling seeing my red cheeks. Sandy and I have a lot to say when we're alone but the presence of Gideon brought an awkward silence between us as we ate our lunch and all that we were hoping for was the bell to ring for our next lecture. As if reading my thoughts, Sandy asked that we go to the library to finish up our research before the next lecture begins. We excused ourselves since Gideon was still eating his lunch and headed towards the library. "Nerly, you had turn red even at the sight of him" Sandy said as if it was the obvious. "Oh my dear friend your eyes were deceiving you" I replied sarcastically. We were almost at the library when the popular guys excluding Gideon blocked us from moving further. Since I was too cute and shy Sandy being the brave bestie took her position in front of me to prevent them from harassing me which she knows will make me cry. "Look who we have here" said one of the guys who's a black. " Would you please do us the honor to excuse us?" Sandy replied which made the guys laugh. What the heck is wrong with them, I thought to myself. "What if we don't?" the black guy replied sharply. "Then I'll have to force you to do so" a voice said behind them. No one dares to challenge the popular guys so with that they all turned to where the voice came from and realized it was no other person than Gideon. Before any other thing could be said the bell rang for the next lecture. Sandy and I wend to class with me thinking of what might happen between the friends. All five guys didn't return to class but nobody cared since it was their habit. Statistics class was always boring and the lecturer was not helping because she made it super boring. Finally, the bell rang telling us it's time to go home. All students were excited because it's weekend and also Fridays have lots of partying, fun and what you can think of. I had called Henry to inform him about Sandy moving in with us until we finish our senior year in high school and made him aware that he shouldn't come to pick me after class since I'll be going with Sandy.
