Chapter 39 Midnight Surprise
Brooke's POV I lean back against the cage wall, trying to get even remotely comfortable, but that is seemingly impossible. The bars and floor are cold, making this harder than I thought it was going to be to get just a wink of sleep, since I have had worse sleeping situations. But it's like something in my head is preventing me from sleeping, making this stressing situation much worse than it needs to be. I shiver as I readjust, keeping my eyes closed to try to fall asleep. Since I don't have my jacket anymore, it's making things harder for gaining warmth. I shiver while feeling my body stiffen as I keep trying to relax enough to get at least a little cat nap.
