Chapter 7

Nakabalik na kami sa pinas. We were able to hang out with daddy B sa airport before we got on the plane. We used my brother’s private jet dahil daw may e discuss pa sila sa secretary nya and he wants it done during the flight para daw maka relax kami with family, after we arrive.

I’m in my room now, mom was able to fetch us sa airport dahil busy si daddy. We are currently here sa main house namin. Jane also went home na.

I heard a knock

“Come in” it’s mommy, she’s bringing a cup of water and my medication. These are my maintenance medicine. I suffered a lot when I was younger dahil sa heart problem ko and it was not easy growing up like this lalo na para kina mommy and daddy.

“Drink your medication na anak and take a rest” she sat on my bed and gently brushed my hair away from my face. Ininom ko na ang gamot.

“did you have fun?” she asked me.

“Of course, mom,” I smiled at her. “have you seen our pictures on **?” I asked and she nodded.

“Yeah! You looked like you really had fun.” She giggled. After that biglang tumamlay na naman ang mood ni mommy.

“So, you are going back to your condo tomorrow?” she asked, Nawala ang ngiti

“Mom, we talked about this.” I gave her a hug

“I will take care of myself, okay? You should work as a doctor again.” I convinced her many times pero dahil nga nasa bahay lang ako lagi she refused dahil kailangan daw ng mag aalaga and I need company.

“I know you will. Alright, sleep first and we will have dinner together, ok?” she kissed my forehead and went out of my room.

I dozed off to sleep after a while. Siguro pagod na pagod ako sa byahe. I woke up by 6 pm and got ready for dinner. Mag barbeque night daw kasi kami sa backyard and dad is coming home.

“Hey sweetie, dinner is almost ready” salubong ni dad pagkababa ko. Nakita ko si daddy na nag luluto ng barbeque and mommy is preparing the table.

“Hi dad!” I greeted and kissed him on his cheeks.

“Pakitawag naman ng kapatid mo anak so we can eat together. Nasa sala may katawag” mom said. I nodded and went to the living room.

Papunta palang ako kay Cav rinig na rinig ko na ang boses nya. Nakatalikod ito sa akin kaya d nya ako namalayan pumasok sa sala.

“I don’t care how much it is. I want it done now!” nagulat ako sa kapatid ko, he sensed someone was in the room so he turned around. He looked annoyed, binaba na nya ang tawag.

“Cav, kakain na daw” I told him.

“Oh, hi sis. Sorry about that, just work stuff,” he told me.

“Were you able to get enough sleep?” he asked me and we started walking back to the backyard

“Yup. You?” I slept for 6 hours so, I guess that’s enough

“Not so much. Babawi nlng ako mamaya.” He answered.

“Food is ready!” dad informed us. We all sat at the table outside and prayed before eating. We talked a lot about our trip and about what might happen next. Ma mimiss ko mag stay dito sa bahay but I want to be on my own. Sinabihan ko din sina mommy to relax pagka lipat ko na sa condo. Shes been taking care of me ever since.

I am excited to work on my own and live by myself. The next day after ko lumipat sa condo, I will start working sa kaibigan raw ni Cav. Hindi nya sinabi sa akin kung sino. I just can’t wait to work and meet new people.

‘De Soliel’

That is what’s written sa building. This is the same as the name of the resort we went to sa US. My brother wanted to drive me here pero sabi ko I can manage so I drove myself here.

The building looks massive. As soon as I entered the lobby, the big chandelier and golden accent greeted me. It looked so elegant like the resort we went to. Sino ba tong De soliel, I never met the guy and Cav told me its one of his friend’s building.

I went to the reception area and asked where Mr. De Soliel’s office is. I will be working as an assistant secretary. I told my brother I wanted to apply on my own pero sabi nya its already fixed. Wala na ako magagawa pag naka decide na si Cavin.

“Good Morning, do you have any appointments scheduled to meet with the CEO ma’am?” bati sakin ng babae.

“Oh, I was told to go directly meet with Mr. De Soliel. My name is Scarlet Venice Go” para naamn nagulantang ang babae pagkarinig sa pangalan ko.

“Floor 40 po ma’am. Top floor” mapait na ngumiti ang babae sa akin. What is her problem?

“Thank you” I said and went to the elevator. Bahala na nga.

Deep breaths Scar, you can do this! I feel like this CEO is an old man, or like older that Cav and me. I mean, Sinong ka age ni Cav ang magmamay-ari ng ganito kalaking building right? This person is too rich! The company is 3x bigger than Cavs.

Pagka bukas ng elevator sumalubong sa akin ang isang babae na naka formal attire. This must be his secretary. She looks older than me. I smiled at her and she did the same.

“You must be Scarlet Go, nice to meet you. My name is Catherine and I am Mr. De Soliels secretary” she offered me her hand and I shook it.

“Nice to finally meet you po, Catherine” I replied. I noticed the whole floor is just the CEO’s office and the secretary. Dalawa lang sila dito sa floor na to? Grabe! This building is huge already, let alone the floor. Same as downstairs, golden accent din dito and gives off such elegant vibes.

“Right this way, Mr. De Soliel would like to see you now” she told me. Nagulat naman ako. Why would the CEO meet a mere assistant secretary on the first day? Or baka dahil gusto nya ako makilala dahil kapatid ko si Cav, sha kasi nag arrange nito lahat.

“uhm, alright” I guess it wouldn’t hurt. I am actually quite curious who this is. We entered a two way door and she told me to put my bag on my table. I calmed myself and got ready to meet the CEO.

“This way Ms. Go” she told me. Sumunod ako sa kanya and we stoped at this big door with the name CEO plastered on the door.

This is it.

She knocked. A baritone voice answered and so Catherine opened the door and went inside first.

“Mr. De Soliel, Ms. Go is here” bungad nya

“Let her in” the voice was firm and really sounded with full authority, like he is the boss of this company, and he indeed is.

I went in na nakayuko. I am kind of nervous.

“Good morning, Mr. De Soliel, my name is Scarlet Go, your new assistant secretary.” I greeted and lifted my head, only to see the person in front of me.

This person who is awfully familiar.

“You?!”
