IntroductionWelcome to the inside of my head. A few months before I began my transition, I opened a Twitter account I called Fantasies Fractured to try playing with the micro-story format, and share some fun, smutty ideas using themes of transformation, hypnosis, corruption, and transition. The idea being these were fractured off my normal, ordinary, perfectly straight and cisgender life. (I know, I know…denial is more than just a river in Egypt, okay?) Deep down, I wanted to tell stories that find the joy of being other, and stories where the recipient of these transformations may just gain more than they lose. Oh—and because s*x is fun, and weird, and I think telling fun, sexy, weird stories is very important. This became a search for what I jokingly called some good wholesome smut as I worked through a lot of my own personal needs—and it seems like a lot of people enjoyed joining me along the way. Here there be dragons, robots, and even stranger things, all of whom have their own desires—and someone (or someones!) to enjoy them with. The Twitter micro-story format made me work hard to find the best ways to express my ideas within a limited number of characters and tweets, and I’m proud of the things I came up with along the way. With recent events, there are a lot of questions about what content will be allowed to remain on Twitter, and I don’t want these stories to disappear into the ether. So, I talked to my publisher at JMS Books about making an anthology to collect them in, and they were nice enough to say, “Yes, that sounds great.” This volume also has a couple of bonuses—poems I wrote during the same period as I worked on telling these stories while I went through the process of coming out and navigating the complete implosion of my personal life, and a few stories that were never published online.
