The gleam of her eyes is faded and dull now. Her mental hold over you released, leaving you entirely in your own mind.
“Everything okay?”
Nia’s hair bounces a bit as she nods, her chest rising and falling against yours.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about something. But I wanted to make sure you will understand what I’m going to ask.”
You tilt your head to the side as best as you can. “I’m confused.”
“Do you remember our…hm. Third date?”
It takes a bit to think back, but when you realize what she must be talking about, a smile spreads across your face. “Oh! The tea shop.”
