Chapter 4“Sssssssorry,” you apologize, then blink, trying to stare down at your own tongue as it darts out. Each time you let it flick out you realize there are subtle scents in Nia’s room you’ve never noticed before—and you can feel the air that circulates around you, instinctively understanding where each is coming from.
Nia giggles as you manage to ‘taste’ the end of your own nose. You suppose you must have a pretty baffled look on your face. You can’t quite believe just how quickly this is starting to work.
“Well,” she admits before flicking her tongue out to touch yours, “it is a bit magical.”
“I sssaid that out loud.”
“Yessss,” she winks as she emphasizes her own sibilant hiss. “Yes, you did.”
You try to grump at her, but it doesn’t last long in the face of more kisses.
