Chapter 7It’s not quite as simple as just waking up and stepping back into your old life, of course. There’s paperwork (so much paperwork), paying the penalties for breaking your lease, moving into a new place together with a nice big shower and room for a nursery. Your old job didn’t want you back. Your new job thinks they were crazy. Your parents are surprisingly supportive, but they’re a little pissed that you didn’t tell them about the wedding. (Not that it was much beyond ten minutes at the courthouse and buying a cake.) Through it all, you can’t stop rubbing your swelling belly. Feeling the way your new family is growing inside of you. Your queen keeps you well fed and cared for as you work on making the new house into a cozy little nest, buying furniture and picking out paint.
