Getting home Eli saw Ariana watching cartoons in TV.

She gave her a peck on forehead and walked towards her parent's room. Before knocking she heard her father's voice, " Just come inside Eli."

Eli came inside with a straight face and asked, "You seem pretty good despite the injuries from last night."

Her father smiled mysteriously which she pointedly ignored and watched her parents face intently.

" If there is something that I should know, It's time dad. Keeping me in dark won't do any good."

Her father turned serious.

Her mother looked at her too. " You have to listen to a little tale before that."

Eli frowned, "Is that relevant?"

" Very."

" Go ahead".

Her mother cleared throat, "From the ancient times there have been two races that are most powerful. One with powers - the supernatural, and other without powers - the naturals. The naturals are now known as humans.

The super naturals have different sub races... but the most important are sorcerers, shifters, undead. We are shifters."

Eli's brows were knitted already. She sure expected some bizarre explanation, but this is really on another level. The look on her parent's face didn't tell that it's anything but true though.

So, she listened.

"We're shifters. We are basically animals with human instincts and alternative forms. Shifters are of various levels and forms. Our sharpness comes from both of our animal and human side combined. In our case... we are Wolves."

Eli held her hand up.

She needs to digest this first.

Her parents are some sort of supernatural beings... and.... ... why is she not freaking out yet??

Eli's parents watched her face which remained impassive as always. She took a deep breath.

"So, you are telling me that you guys have superpowers... you are wolves... like the stories... werewolves."

"Yes."

" So, you can morph into the animal for real?"

"Yes, we can."

"Okey... so wh"...

"You are from our origin as well."

"Huh??" Eli blinked.

" You are a werewolf too Eli."

" I am adopted." Eli deadpanned.

" We adopted you precisely because you are werewolf."

" ...and ...how did you know?"

" When we were newlywed, your mom found your smell on road. We found you through that and instantly fell in love with you."

".... Oh... and Arin?"

" Arin is one too."

Eli nodded, " That explains."

"Explain what?"

"Her obsession with my clothes and talks about smell and all..." she waved her hand in air and her dad chuckled.

"True."

"But why didn't you tell me about all these before?"

" We never sensed your wolf."

Eli grew confused. Her mom continued,

" We can sense the other part of any individual. We never sensed your other part."

"What does that mean?"

" Means you are a human from Werewolf origin."

Eli raised her brows. "That can happen?"

"In some rare cases ... yes.... but..."

"What changed dad?"

"Yesterday, when you were too angry, we sensed some power in you. it's too faint and brief to recognize fully but we are certain that you have wolf power."
