"Yes, I'm hungry. Can we eat something and forget what happened earlier?"
"Yes, of course, come with me" - he leads her away - "Wouldn't it be better to put some clothes on first?"
She looks at herself and realizes she's half-naked. He lets out a discreet laugh and Emma looks in her suitcase for something to wear and puts on a long light blue silk dress.
Dylan watches her and approaches her again, but this time she doesn't back away. He touches her face gently and she sighs at his touch.
"If you say no, I'll stop" - he grabs her waist, pulling her closer - "because I really want to."
"Dylan, I..."- she can't finish the sentence because he kisses her again and then lets her go, waiting for her answer- "keep going"- she kisses him this time and he lays her down on the bed. However, their fangs threaten to come out again and he breaks off the kiss. "Why did you stop?" she asks a little dejectedly.
"We'd better set a limit" - he regrets having said it right away - "you don't feel anything for me and that's mutual. I can't be your first, Emma."
"Why? We're already married" - she touches him, but he pulls his hands away - "it's okay, you're right."
"Come on, let's get something to eat" - he helps her up and they both leave the room, heading for the kitchen.
"You've finally got out of that room", replies Logan, his brother, "it must have been really good for a while."
"We didn't..."- Dylan started to speak, but Emma interrupted him.
"We couldn't keep our hands off each other. Isn't that right, my love?"- she took his hand- "please, can we have something to eat?"
"Of course," Logan replied, "the maid has made roast beef, steamed broccoli and other varieties. I'll ask her to set the table."
"Thank you" - she turns to Dylan - "can we talk alone?"
"Yes" - he leads her into the garden of the house, in a more private corner - "you can talk."
"It's better for your family to think that we're okay together, because that could help you with your father's actions and me too."
"All right," he replies, "and about that time in the bedroom, I don't want you to feel pressured into doing something with me."
"I don't feel that way," she replies, "I think it was the effect of the honeymoon and our fancy dress."
"I know that's not it" - he moves closer to her, putting his hand on her cheek - "but you already love someone and I'm not going to interfere with that. So you'll sleep in the bed and I'll sleep in the armchair."
"How can I accept that? Your back will be sore."
He couldn't tell her that he never slept because he was a vampire. So he said:
"You don't have to care about me, Emma. Just call me so that you can see your beloved and we can end this farce so that we can be free."
Emma didn't say a word. However, a tear fell from her eye, but she wiped it away with the back of her hand and returned to the kitchen, leaving the subject aside.

"What did you think of the food?" asked Aurora, Dylan's mother. "We don't usually eat rice here, but our meals are very filling."
"It's very tasty," replies Emma, "can I have some more?"
"Sure, make yourself at home. It's your house now, too," replied Aurora.
"Aren't you hungry?" she asks curiously.
"Logan and I already had lunch," she replies. "Dylan must be fasting. He does it very often."
"I see," replies Emma, "honey, can we walk around town?" she asks Dylan.
"Sure, finish eating and we'll go." He gives her a small smile.
"I thought you were going to stay in the room for a few more days before going out on the town."
"Emma wants to get to know our state and it's certainly her first time walking around without the security guards and I promised her that."
"I'm glad you're keeping your promises, Dylan," replied his mother, "so use your car, Dylan. I'll ask the butler to take you."
"No need, I'll drive, Mom."
"All right, since you insist. Have fun then. Excuse me" - she leaves the kitchen, leaving the newlyweds alone.
"What did your mother mean by keeping your promises? Didn't you do it before?" she asks curiously.
"I was someone very different before I met you Emma, but you don't need to know about my past, since we won't be together for long."
"True, but it would be good to bond together, since we'll be sleeping in the same room and we'll have to share caresses in public," Emma replies, "sit down and eat with me."
"I'm not hungry and I ate while you were asleep."
"Is that so?" she touches his arm, "your skin is so cold. I didn't notice before because we were busy, but now I do. You should eat something to get your body warm again."
"You don't have to worry about me, Emma. Thank you for that" - he takes a deep breath - "I like to go for hours without eating to purify myself"
"I'm sure your family is very proud of you."
"I hope so," he replies, "have you finished eating?"
"Yes," she smiles, "I'll change so we can go out."
"I'll walk with you" - he holds her waist and leads her into their bedroom.
