Chapter 22 A battle of love and hate raged through Dylan’s heart every second he stared at Heaven. She was looking out the window of a room she apparently shared with Layne. Dylan could smell his cologne, and the scent made his blood boil. So did the roundness of Heaven’s belly. It signified a painful truth Dylan didn’t want to face. Layne’s child was growing inside her. For someone he wanted so much, he hated her just the same. She wasn’t his soulmate, so why couldn’t he get over her? He tried tapping into her emotions, but all he heard was silence. Sensing her emotions had been a long shot, anyway. Ever since he’d severed the bond between them, he hadn’t been able to tap into her energy. Glancing back at Mick, he whispered, “Stay here. If you try to teleport, I’ll kill you. Got it?”
