Layne paced the floor in front of Heaven like a lion protecting its pride. He glared at his brother with every step he took. Dylan was lucky he hadn’t hurt Heaven. Had he, he wouldn’t be lying on the floor, unconscious.
He’d be dead.
Mason was standing guard just above Dylan’s head while Nicholas and Kyle stared out the window. It had been a few minutes since they reported back on what they were witnessing—the Paradox’s warriors protecting the stables from an attack by The Fallen. And they were definitely under attack.
