29 The Procurer flipped off the laser sight. He watched Kira through the scope of the rifle. He hadn’t needed the sight. He had just wanted her to know he was there right before he took the shot. Now he only had a moment before the startled police reacted. His finger lingered on the trigger. Part of him was tempted to take her out now. But no. That would be too easy. He respected her too much for that. She was the only person to even come close to finding him. She deserved better. When he finally dealt with Kira, he wanted something more intimate.
