Three days. That’s all Aria has before an ancient evil, imprisoned for centuries, comes for her.Born of a bloodline thought lost, her magic burns brighter than the world can handle and every heartbeat draws attention. The forest itself whispers of her power, shadows creep with a hunger she can feel, and an enemy older than time waits just beyond the wards. Two men hold pieces of her fate: one loyal, reverent, desperate to protect her at all costs; the other exiled, dangerous, a stranger with secrets and power that could either save her or break her completely.Every choice is a risk. Every bond is tested. Every surge of power threatens to consume her… or destroy those she cares for. In three days, everything changes. Survival isn’t guaranteed, trust is a weapon, and nothing in this world or beyond it, is what it seems.Aria must learn to control her power, navigate love and loyalty, and face an enemy that knows her better than she knows herself. The countdown has begun, and the hunt for the Silvana has only just started.

The Rejection
The mate bond hit me three seconds before he destroyed everything. Sharp. Like a fishhook through the ribs, yanking me toward him before I even knew what was happening. Every part of me that had felt empty suddenly wasn’t. My wolf, the one that’d never existed, the one everyone said proved I was broken, woke up. Ours. Across the ceremony hall, past all the Alphas in their expensive suits and Lunas dripping jewelry, Kael Darkridge froze mid-step. Those gold eyes found mine through the crowd. He felt it too. Had to. The recognition on his face was too raw to fake. Three seconds. That’s how long I let myself believe in destiny. Then someone whispered in his ear and I watched him choose. His expression went blank. Cold. He turned toward the platform like I’d never existed. Pain cracked through my chest. I sucked in air through my teeth, nearly dropped the tray of champagne glasses I’d been carrying. Around me, the ceremony kept going. Political alliances disguised as tradition. The kind of event where omegas like me served drinks and tried not to breathe too loud. I made it to the kitchens before my legs quit. The stone wall was cold against my back. Good. Maybe it’d stop the burning in my chest. It didn’t. “Aria.” Gods. His voice. Kael stood in the kitchen doorway. Alone. Looking at me like, I don’t know. Like I mattered and ruined everything at the same time. “We need to talk.” Not a request. “Now.” He led me through the servant corridors to some empty storage room. Closed the door. Ran his hands through his hair and for half a second looked almost human. Almost not like the king who had the whole realm scared of him. “You felt it,” he said. “Yeah.” “So did I.” His jaw worked. “I didn’t expect this, wasn’t prepared. He stopped. Started over. “This is complicated.” “Complicated.” The word tasted like ash. “That’s what I am?” “That’s not..” He cut himself off. Tried again. “I’m not just some wolf, Aria. I’m the Alpha King. Every choice I make affects thousands of people. Right now those people need an alliance I’ve been building for months.” My stomach dropped. “Seraphina Frost.” “Yes.” He held my gaze. “The Northern packs were about to break away. Start a civil war. This marriage stops that. If I walk away now, people die. A lot of them.” “So you’re picking duty.” “I’m protecting my people.” His voice went softer. “I know what I’m asking. I know it’s not fair” “Fair?” Something cold settled behind my ribs. “You want me to watch you marry someone else. Smile through it. Pretend this”I touched my chest where it hurt..“doesn’t exist.” “Just until things stabilize. Once the Northern packs settle down, once the marriage secures the alliance…” He reached for my hand. I stepped back. “How long?” My voice came out flat. “I don’t know.” “Months? Years?” I laughed but it sounded wrong. “How long am I supposed to wait while you play house with your wife?” He flinched. “That’s not what” “That’s exactly what you’re asking.” Silence. Heavy and awful. Between us, something pulled. Insistent. My feet wanted to move toward him without permission. I dug my nails into my palms hard enough to hurt. “I’m sorry.” He said it quiet. “If there was another way” “There is. You could choose me.” “It’s not that simple” “It is, though.” The crack in my chest widened. “But I’m not worth the trouble. I get it.” “Aria” “Do what you need to do, Alpha King.” I headed for the door. “Just don’t pretend it’s something it’s not.” His hand caught my wrist. The contact sent electricity up my arm. Heat. Want. Everything I couldn’t afford to feel. “I do care,” he said. “This thing between us it’s real.” I looked at his hand on my skin. Then at his face. And something inside me just… broke. “He won’t choose you. Not when it counts.” I pulled free. Gentle. “Caring’s not enough.” Then I left. I heard the announcement from the kitchens. Alpha Derek’s voice carried through the halls: “The Alpha King wishes to make a formal announcement..” Should’ve walked away. Should’ve gone literally anywhere else. I didn’t. “honored to announce the engagement of Alpha King Kael Darkridge to Seraphina Frost, daughter of the Northern Alpha.” Cheering. Applause. Celebration. The pain hit like I’d been gutted. I gripped the counter edge, knuckles white, trying to remember how breathing worked. No, my wolf screamed. *He’s ours” But he wasn’t. Not anymore. “You okay?” One of the kitchen staff stared at me. “Fine.” Barely got the word out. I grabbed a tray, don’t know why and walked toward the ceremony hall. Maybe I needed to see it with my own eyes. Make it real. The crowd parted without thinking. Making space for the invisible omega. There. On the platform. Kael, looking every inch the king he was. And next to him, Seraphina Frost. Platinum hair perfect. Ice-blue eyes cold. Beautiful in that way that made you feel small just by existing near her. She smiled at the crowd. At him. He didn’t smile back. But he didn’t move away either. Our eyes met. Guilt. Regret. Pain that maybe matched mine. Not enough to change anything, though. Seraphina noticed. Followed his stare. When she saw me, something sharp entered her smile. The thing in my chest twisted. I gasped. Couldn’t help it. Wolves turned to look. Including him. “Aria.” My name in his mouth sounded like something dying. Everyone stared. At me. At him. At whatever this was. Seraphina’s eyes narrowed. “Is something wrong?” “No,” Kael said. But he was still looking at me. I should’ve run. Made myself disappear. Instead I set down the tray. Straightened my spine. Spoke loud enough for everyone to hear. “Congratulations, Alpha King. Hope you’ll be very happy.” Whispers exploded. Confused. Shocked. Kael’s face cracked. “Aria, don’t” “I mean it.” I smiled. Felt wrong. “You made the right choice. For your people.” Pause. “Hope it was worth it.” His hands clenched into fists. “This isn’t what I wanted” “But it’s what you chose.” Something was happening. Heat building in my spine. Wrong. Too fast. Behind my eyes a flash of silver. There and gone. No. Not here. “Aria.” Kael stepped off the platform. Moving toward me. “Let me..” “Stay away.” He stopped. Everyone did. My voice had changed. Deeper. Not quite human. “What’s wrong with her?” Someone whispered. Heat became fire. My bones started cracking. I tried to stop it. Push it down. But my wolf had waited eighteen years. She was done waiting. The shift ripped through me. My scream turned into something else, a howl that made the chandeliers swing. Bones breaking, reforming, the sound echoing off marble. My skin burned. Light exploded outward. Silver. Wild. Uncontrolled. The nearest windows cracked. Spider-web patterns spreading across glass. The floor beneath me fractured in jagged lines. The chandelier closest to me swung hard enough that crystals fell, shattering. Some wolves dropped. The weaker ones. Couldn’t help it their animals responding to something bigger. But the Alphas stayed standing. Most of them. Struggling but upright. And Kael, he didn’t even sway. Just stood there, fighting the urge, refusing to submit even as power crashed over him. When it ended, I was on four legs. White fur. Silver markings glowing faint along my spine. Bigger than a normal she-wolf. Not huge. Not yet. But something about it felt wrong. Too much power in a body too new. Unstable. Like it might tear me apart if I moved wrong. A few Alphas had gone down. Others were shaking. The strongest ones just stared. “Impossible,” someone breathed. “The markings.” Another voice. “That’s..” “Silvana.” Kael’s voice cut through everything. “She’s Silvana bloodline.” “That’s extinct,” Seraphina said. Less confident now. “Guess not.” Kael hadn’t looked away from me. “Aria. You need to calm down. Your wolf’s too new, you can’t..” I snarled. He shut up. Everything in me said go to him. Let him help. Fix this. But he had broken it. Couldn’t fix what he chose to destroy. I bolted. Hit the doors with my shoulder, they burst open, hinges screaming. Shouts behind me. Running feet. “Aria!” Kael’s voice. “Stop!” I ran harder. Through gardens. Past the pack house. Toward the forest. My body felt wrong. Powerful but clumsy. I stumbled. Nearly fell. But instinct kicked in and I kept going. Behind my ribs, something pulled. Desperate. Every step away hurt like tearing skin. But staying would kill me slower. The forest opened up. Ancient trees, darkness, wild scent. I didn’t hesitate. Just ran. He shouted my name one more time. Sounded like breaking glass. Good, my wolf thought. Deeper into shadow. Away from everything. The pulling in my chest started to… rot. Not break. Rot. Like fruit left too long in the sun, going soft and wrong at the edges. Should’ve questioned that. Should’ve wondered why. Too hurt to notice. The trees got denser. Older. Blocking out moonlight. My wolf slowed. Panting. First shift taking everything. That’s when I felt it. Not the bond. Something else. Watching. The air got heavy. My fur stood up. A voice. Not out loud. In my bones. “Finally.” I froze. “I’ve been waiting for you, daughter of the moon.” Not wolf. Not Fae. Something older. Should’ve been afraid. Wasn’t. Took a step forward. Then another. Toward the voice. “Come. There’s so much you don’t know. So much you need to understand.” Behind me, the bond with Kael pulsed. Weak. Rotting. Ahead, the voice promised, what? Answers? Power? Death? Didn’t matter. Done running from things. My wolf moved forward. Into darkness. Toward whatever came next.
