The Alpha Meeting

864 Words
TANNER POV I walked into the meeting room. There was no sign of Damien or the luna, I looked towards Lyle, who shook his head. I went around greeting the rest of the alphas and then began pacing. After a few minutes, Lyle speaking broke my from my errant thoughts. "Luna Adalaina. Beta Damien. Please sit." I turned and saw the same girl from this morning on the training field with Damien. She was in a black fitted dress that went just below her knees, with white heels. Her brown hair in waves down her back. She looked straight forward, walking to her seat. She sat right across from me at the table. I saw the already healing cut right above her eye and began getting upset, knowing one of my pack members did that to her. I heard one of the alphas speak. I don't know what he said, I was too busy staring. She looked over at the man in warning, and then her eyes snapped to mine. Her beautiful, bright green eyes with the rest of her beauty took my breath away. It was hard to focus throughout the meeting. Every time she tried to speak, someone would make a comment and try to insult her, or they would discredit her idea. At the end, Lyle asked if there was anything to add. Damien stood, looking over everyone. "Alphas, I understand that my official title is a beta, but I am of alpha blood. Luna Adalaina is also of alpha blood and has shown over the last five years that she is nothing like her father. She was sixteen when she took on the role of a leader to her pack. She asked you all yesterday to put aside your differences so that we could all work together and protect our packs. A few of you would not be here if it weren't for her. When she took over, she gave you or your father's back your land and packs. My brother and I would not be here if it weren't for her. She snuck out of her pack and warned us of her fathers plan. I believed you to be men of honor, but I can see that you are just little boys playing big bad wolf." He has breathing heavily by the end of his little rant. She looked straight ahead the whole time he spoke. I looked around, seeing a few guilty expressions. I didn't know that the packs her father took over, she had given them back their land. I also didn't know she was sixteen at the time. She wouldn't have even had her wolf for another two years. After a few seconds, she stood. "Since the Silver Crescent Pack being here has made many of you uneasy, and I know that there is no hope any alliances being made. That was made clear when I tried setting up individual meetings with some of you. Our input on the rogue situation has also been ignored, so I feel that we are unneeded to be here and a part of this meeting any longer. We will be leaving this evening." She turned to Damien. "Damien, if you wish to stay and visit your brother and friends for a few more days, please feel free to do so. I will return on my own." She turned towards Ken and I. "Alpha Tanner, Beta Kendrick. I will hold true to my agreement to meet with you later this afternoon. Please come to my room when you are ready and we shall discuss what you wish to see me about." She turned and walked to the door, stopped and turned around. "Thank you for including me in this meeting. It was a pleasure meeting with you all. Have a good rest of your meeting. I hope you all make it back home safe." With that, she turned and walked out, followed by Damien. "We will continue tomorrow morning." Lyle said before standing up and walking out. He was upset, and it showed in his voice and how quickly he left. Ken and I quickly went and changed after receiving a note from Damien that if we wanted to, we could dress casually for the meeting. We knocked on her bedroom door. Damien opened the door and let us in. There was no scent. It was strange that she had no scent. "Please sit down, Adalaina went to get some snacks and drinks for us for the meeting. She'll be back up soon." "There's omegas for that, aren't there?" Ken said as he sat down. "Yes, there are. But she likes to do things herself." Damien said right when the door opened. In walked the luna in black skin tight jeans, with a light blue shirt, and black jean jacket. I stood up and rushed over to help her with the tray. "Let me help you with that." "Thank you." She said softly. I was putting the tray down when I was hit with the smell of fresh rain and fresh cut grass again. I turned around and looked at her. My wolf and I said at the same time "MATE".
