Prologue
" Alpha we're under attack," Beta Samuel mind-linked.
"All women, children, elderly and those unable to fight, get to the safe rooms now," Alpha Daniel set a massive mind-link before shifting into his big black wolf and running to the fight. When he got outside, he immediately got into the fight and began taking down the rogues. He ripped each rogue to shreds. He looked over and saw his beta being attacked by 3 wolves. He went over to help but before he could jump on them, he felt the most excruciating pain in his heart. "Mate," his wolf cried out. Filled with heartache and rage, he became feral and began ripping into more rogues. The fight was over. He dropped down and howled out in pain for the loss of his Luna.
"Daniel," he heard familiar voice shout out. He looked up and couldn't believe the sight before his eyes. There in front of him stood his head warrior and pack trainer Nathan. At Nathan's feet was Daniel's now dead mate. Beside him stood a rogue with a knife at Beta Samuel's throat.
"What have you done?" He roared.
"This pack is rightfully mines. Did you know that your father was my mother's destined mate? But he rejected her because of your mother. Her being an Alpha's daughter meant nothing to him. To him she wasn't good enough. She wasn't pretty enough. He mated with her and then deserted the gift that the moon goddess gave to him. My mother killed herself because of your father. She told him she was pregnant but he still rejected her and made your mother Luna," Nathan seethed. "You were never supposed to be born. This is my pack. I'm the rightful Alpha."
"That's not true. My mother was his mate," Alpha Daniel roared. "You work with rogues and kill my Luna to take control of my pack based on some lies." Alpha Daniel was furious.
"Believe what you want but I know the truth. My mother killed herself because of your father's rejection but not before telling her best friend the truth of what happened. I am the oldest and the rightful Alpha to this pack. My daughter is the rightful heir, not your son."
Alpha Daniel had heard enough. Before Nathan can say anymore, Alpha Daniel shifted into his wolf and jumped on him giving Nathan no time to react. He ripped Nathan's head off with his canines but not before the rogue used the silver blade to stab Beta Samuel in the heart. The rogues that were left took off running after seeing that their leader was dead and they were now surrounded and outnumbered. The remaining warriors caught and killed as many as they could while Alpha Daniel mourned his mate.
He looked over and began to mourn for the loss of his beta also. He and beta Samuel grew up together since they were pups. Their fathers were best friend so them being friends only came natural. How would he explain to his mate Sophia what happened. How would he explain all of this to the families of the pack members they had lost. They all trusted Nathan with their lives and he betrayed them.

After laying their fallen pack members to rest, Alpha Daniel called a pack meeting to fill everyone in on what happened. Everyone was furious at what Nathan had done. When he came to Halfmoon 20 years ago, he came with a group of warriors from Blue Crest Pack. They and Halfmoon had an alliance and had sent some warriors over for some more advanced training. Nathan chose to stay at Halfmoon when he found his mate Abigail there instead of going back to Blue Crest. Nathan had simply told them that his mother died when he was a child and was raised by a friend of hers. He became the Head warrior in no time and a trusted member of the pack.
Alpha Daniel was heartbroken and just as furious as the rest of the pack. He sat in his office thinking about everything that had happened. There's no way his father could have done the things Nathan accused him of. Unfortunately everyone involved was dead. A knock at the door brought Alpha Daniel out of his thoughts.
"Come in," he answered.
"Hi, Alpha. You wanted to see me?" The little girl spoke quietly.
"Yes Simon. I need to discuss something very important with you," he started. "As you know, your parents were killed during the battle. Your parents were traitors and were the cause of the battle."
'No. That's not true," she cried out interrupting him.
"Yes," he growled. "It is true." He looked at her and didn't care that she was a child. All he could see were the faces of her dead parents when he looked at her and it made him remember the sight of his Luna laying dead on the ground. "You're parents were traitors. They conspired with rogues and now they are. They were your parents so you are also to blame since you came from them."
Simone was confused. She didn't want to believe anything Alpha Daniel was saying but the whispers she had been hearing mad it hard not to. It had only been two days since the battle and kids who were usually nice to her had already stopped playing with her. Pack members had given her nasty looks and Alpha Daniel's son Jason had shoved her to the floor a few times.
"From This day on, you will be living in the pack house as an omega. Your duties will be to keep this packhouse clean. You will begin learning to cook and soon you will take over kitchen duties as well. You are only to go to school and back to the packhouse. Go get your things from your old home and hurry back. Someone will show you to your room. You are dismissed."
"Yes, Alpha." Simone could feel the tears coming down her face as she turned to leave the Alpha's office. She quickly wiped her face before walking out the door. Her dad had always told her to be strong and never let anyone see her cry. To show no fear and always remain strong. She held her head up high as she walked out of the door but immediately put it down when she saw they eyes of everyone looking at her. Their eyes were all full of hate towards her instead of the sympathy and love that they had been giving to each other. She was alone now.
