Chapter 22

Kaleb's POV "See you then." Alpha Daniel hung up the phone and looked over at me and Jason.  "We will be going to Dark Sky Pack on Saturday.  I will leave Gamma Robert in charge here while the three of us head over there.  Hopefully there will be no issues while we are gone." "I've been meaning to ask," Jason said.  "What are we giving them in exchange for their help?  They're pack is much bigger than ours and there's not much we can do for them.  That's the reason a few other packs chose not to be our ally.  We have nothing to offer them." "Those other packs were stupid," Alpha Daniel growled.  "I have something that Dark Sky will want."  He stood up and walked towards the door.  "Maybe you'll find your mate there," he said to Jason before walking out. "Maybe I will," Jason said.  "And maybe you'll find your second..." I cut him off, "I don't want a second chance mate. I want Simone." I stood up from my seat and walked out of the office.   I headed outside and out the backdoor before stripping off my clothes and shifting into Basil.  He has been much more cooperative and hasn't given me any problems with shifting since I admitted that I wanted my mate back.  He took off running and I gave him control letting him run free for hours. "Get to the Alpha's office now," Jason linked me. "On my way," I told him.  I took off running fast to the packhouse.  His voice sounded urgent and I didn't know whether it was good or bad that I was being called there. When I got to the office there was a girl I had never seen before in there with Alpha Daniel and Jason. I wonder who she is. "Good you're here," Alpha Daniel said.  "This girl has some information that you may want to hear." I looked at the girl wondering what she could have to say.  I didn't know her. "I know where Simone is," she said shocking me.  I definitely wasn't expecting that.  Basil perked up when he heard Simone's name giving this unknown girl his attention. Simone's POV I walked to the garden with Mirabel so we could talk.  I wanted to know when we would be starting my training.  I was excited to learn more about my powers and how to control them.  We sat at one of the tables and Mirabel looked lost in thought. "Hey are you ok?" I asked her.  She looked like she was thinking hard about something and it was bothering her.  Not too long ago she had a smile and was happy.  What changed? "Who was that girl?" she asked me. "What girl?" I asked. "The one that came in with the short dress." "Oh that's Victoria.  She's a friend." "She's not a friend," Mirabel said grabbing my hand.  "I don't trust her.  Please stay away from her." "What's going on Mirabel?  She's been friends with Skyler forever." "Her aura is very dark.  I nearly choked on it when she walked in.  She's pretending to be your friend.  I could see the evil in her eyes when she looked at you when she thought no one was watching." "Are you sure?" I asked.  Victoria has been really nice to me.  I haven't noticed any looks from her other than a smile. The whole pack had been very welcoming since I've been here.  I was confused but in the short time that I have known Mirabel I felt nothing but good energy from her.  I knew in my heart that I could trust her. "I'm very sure.  Don't go anywhere alone with her." "Ok. I trust you." I squeezed her hand in comfort. "As for your training, we can start whenever you are ready.  I figured you may want to start after your ceremony." "That would be good.  I start training with Jessie after the ceremony also." "In the meantime I want you to find something that helps you to relax.  You don't seem like the type that gets angry often but the anger that I saw when we got here took a lot out of you.  Maybe you can try meditation." We talked more about possible things I can do to relax and keep a clear head so that my anger doesn't take over.  We also talked about how she felt about being mated to a wolf and she blushed when I mentioned Gamma Joshua.  She told me all of the things her mother told her about wolves and I have to admit I was shocked.  Her mother made us out to be monsters but Mirabel said that she never believed much of anything her mother said.  Before we knew it, it was dinner time and Skyler was linking me. I ate diner and talked with everyone but I couldn't get my conversation with Mirabel out of my head.  Why did Veronica have an issue with me?  I had never done anything to her.  I'll  do as I promised Mirabel and keep my eyes on her but I was still curious.  Maybe I'll go speak with Jessie and Skyler about it. Veronica's POV I pulled up to Halfmoon Pack's territory and rolled down my window when the warrior walked over. "What is your business here?" He asked me. "I would like to speak to your Alpha," I told him.  "I have information on the she-wolf he has been looking for by the name of Simone." "Do you know where she is?" He asked, his eyes wide. "Yes but I will only tell your Alpha."  I saw his ears perk up when I mentioned Simone's name.  Their Alpha must really want her and this warrior must have been looking for an opportunity to get in good with the Alpha.  I could see he wanted to possibly get the credit for finding Simone but this was my show.  The only one getting the information from me was the Alpha. I watched as his eyes glazed over in a mind-link before he looked at me.  "Drive up to the packhouse," he said.  "Someone will be there to escort you to the Alpha." I drove into the territory and down the path through some trees to the packhouse.  I've never been to this pack before.  It wasn't small but it wasn't as big as Dark Sky's.  Their packhouse was a decent size but could use some paint.  I pulled up to the packhouse and two very large very handsome men were there waiting for me.  If I didn't already belong to my Alphas, Ii would definitely take one of them. "Follow me," one of them said when I got out of my car.  He walked quickly inside and I had to almost run to catch up to him.  We walked to the back of the house and into an office where a man who I could automatically tell was the Alpha from the power radiating off of him and another guy who looked similar to him.  Maybe his son? "You have information for me?"  The Alpha said getting straight to the point. "Yes I do," I told him.  "I know where Simone is and I can help you get to her." "Where is she?" He asked. "I'll tell you but you have to let me get her to you.  I don't want this to cause a war to start with my pack," I told him. The door opened and another guy walked in and looked at me confused.   He must be the mate she left behind.  "Good you're here," Alpha Daniel said.  "This girl has some information that you may want to hear." "I know where Simone is and I can help you get to her." "Where is she?" He asked. "Just like I told your Alpha; I'll help you but you cannot let this start a war with my pack.  You have to just go once you get her." "I have a question," the guy that I assumed was the Alpha's son said.  "What's in it for you?" "What do you mean?" I asked nervously.  I thought they would just jump on the chance without any questions.  From what I've heard they have been looking for her and desperately want her back. "Exactly what I asked," he said.  "What's in it for you?" "Why is that important?" I asked.  "You either want her back or not," I said getting irritated. "We do want her back," the other guy said.  "She's my mate.  Tell me where she is."  He stepped closer to me.  His eyes began to change back and forth.  He was struggling to control his wolf. "Calm down Kaleb," the Alpha said.  "We'll get her.  Now that my son has mentioned it, I'd like too know the answer to his question also.  Not that it matters.  I'm just curious." "Simone is at Dark Sky Pack," I paused when I saw all of their eyes go wide.  "She somehow tricked my mates into believing that she is their mate.  I want her gone so I can have them back." "Mates?" Kaleb asked. "The Alphas of Dark Sky Pack," I told them.  "The Luna ceremony is being held on Friday.  She believes that I'm her friend so I am sure that I can get her alone and away from the pack before then.  We can meet and you can take her off my hands."  I looked at their stunned faces but they were too shocked to say anything. "We need to go there now and get her," Kaleb said.  "She's MINE," he growled making me jump. "We need a plan first," The Alpha's son said.  "We can not go to war with them." They continued talking and forgot that I was sitting there until I cleared my throat.  "I'll give you my number and you can just let me know when you want me to get her outside of the pack.  It has to be before the Luna Ceremony."
