Chapter 13
The orderly scooped me off my feet as darkness threatened to sweep me away completely. I fought to hold on, sinking my consciousness deep within myself to search for the faint spark of energy I had called on before.
A trace of light sparked in the darkness. I focused on it, pulling it closer to me, willing it to brighten. My body began to tingle as the light slowly spread, warming every part of me. Soon it was uncomfortably warm, and I felt myself sweating as I was laid on a hard, cool surface. My body was jostled, and I had a sense of Andie and Angel on either side of me.
