Blaze's POV
"What do you mean she couldn't be found? There is no way she could have gone back by herself."
It wasn't like I was worried about that gold digger b*tch my uncle found me for a wife. I needed to go back to the castle. I had to take her back with me, in the least. She was the daughter of that Bastion family,a very close and loyal servant of my uncle Frederick.
"Come on, Blaze, you don't want to be late. Let her be. She will come around after she cools off her heat. " Renne's hand over my thigh no longer gave me those shivery, sexy arousals. It wasn't new for me. Once I tasted a b*tch, she no longer held any more importance for me. It was like I was bored. "Keep your hands to yourself, Renne. You only move when you are told, "
I shoved her away before moving forward on my chair to talk to the captain, before our jet left. It didn't matter how I treated my wife; she had gone missing. I doubt if it could be passed on as a trivial matter. Then my eyes fell on Renne. I saw her smiling at me as I kept checking out her features. An evil smirk crossed my lips, and I could tell it made her a little nervous. She was the same height and complexion as that bride, except for the curves. If we could make some modifications, she could clearly pass as that woman called Rebecca. We just needed an excuse to cover her face.A perfect substitute indeed.

Catherine was pure gold. It didn't take her long to come to my aid as soon as I called. "Are you alright, Blaze?" She started checking me immediately for wounds while stealing a glance at the jet that was burning in the background.
"How did the jet crash? It's... It's not possible... Where is the bride?" she panicked.
"Umm, ahem..." I cleared my throat and looked at her with a wink. It made her straighten up. It didn't take her much long, to realize that it was my doing. All I had to do was get rid of the pilot in midair. Renne kept screaming like a wild bear after she witnessed the murder as I slit his vein.
"You... you can walk?" She tried hitting me with that fancy purse I had bought her when I walked towards her next.
" Shhhhh! I need to get back in the pilot's seat. This jet can't keep running forever on autopilot."
Her tongue effectively popped out as I grabbed her by her throat. "I need to make sure you don't talk any more." And with that, I dismantled her vocal organ. She fainted immediately from the impact, which served me well. I shaved and burnt enough flesh from places where it was no longer required. In the end, she looked like the perfect crash survivor. As for the captain, I set him ablaze, along with the jet, after we landed on a deserted landscape. I had to burn a little bit of my flesh as well, to make the incident look believable. The paramedics hurried up, wrapped my dummy bride, and rushed her to the hospital. Catherine accompanied me separately. "Just make sure nobody gets to visit her up close and that she doesn't get her consciousness back. Not until I order." I whispered in her ears as she nodded, and I could also see her clasping her hands together. She was nervous. She was, after all, just a woman. She was loyal and did love me, but she didn't understand the complicated strategies of politics. She was not burdened with revenge. Killing didn't feel wrong when you did it with no hard feelings. It was like war.
The news of the crash spread faster than forest fire in the dry lands.
The Bastion family was already waiting for their daughter when the paramedics brought us in.
The father fell on the ground and began sobbing, holding on to the stretcher that Renne was on.
" Rebecca! Becca! My beautiful girl... my little angel... Becca... Look what happened to your lovely face... "
His eyes were red and he looked genuinely shattered. It made my heart skip a guilty beat. But then it all changed when I looked at the mother.
It looked like she was more disgusted at her disfigured daughter than she was concerned.
I don't know if I made a mistake but the sister looked like she was relieved. I even caught a glimpse of a smile on her face and then she turned her attention towards me and immediately her expression changed.
I was quite amused. This girl, Rebecca had a very interesting family indeed.
" Hi, I am Stephanie... " She was trying to introduce herself leaving her sister behind.
" Catherine, I need to rest a little bit and so does my wife. Ask them to give us some privacy. I am sure they will have their time together when my wife feels a little better. "
Catherine understood the assignment.
" Mr. Bastion, please let the doctors take it from here. It was a very unfortunate accident. We can't fight with fate. Can we? "
She smoothly manoeuvred the situation and I could finally breathe in the warmth of my own chamber.
I had to bring Renne in.
I couldn't risk anybody else hovering around her when she regained her consciousness.
She could not talk, that was settled but she could still write or ask for help in sign language.
I was a slow player. I hate to take any risk. I never wanted a quick fix to anything, but I wanted the fix to always be permanent.
That was how I saw life.
