Mayah sat in front of the mirror. Today was the day that she had to walk down the aisle to marry Marco. She ignored the women Marco hired to do her hair and make up as they tried to tell her the joys of falling in love and getting married. They obviously had no idea what kind of marriage this was she thought. She glanced quickly at the door to find two guards that Marco left in the room to make sure Mayah didn't get cold feet and run.
“Alright sweetie. You're all done! You look gorgeous.” The older blond woman took a step back to admire their work.
“Marco’s waiting,” called one of the guards as Mayah stood up.
She let out a soft sigh as she gathered up her long white wedding dress to avoid stepping on it. Mayah followed the two guards out the back door towards the pool and stopped. “Wait...where are we going?” she asked. Thanks to Marco, Mayah was already afraid of water but her last encounter with Marco traumatized her so badly that she avoided going anywhere near the pool.
“You guys are having an outside wedding,” offered the second guard.
Mayah stared at the discolored spot near the pool. “Do we have to walk this way? I promise not to run but please don't make me walk here,” she pleaded.
The first guard opened his mouth to answer but closed it when he saw Jackson approaching. “Whats taking so long?” called Jackson. “Misbehaving on your wedding day? I thought you learned your lesson.” He grabbed her arm and began to drag her past the pool
Mayah recoiled at the sound of his voice. “I wasn't misbehaving, I swear,” she said trying not to stare at the pool.
Jackson ignored her as he continued to pull her. “Shut up and walk,” he hissed. “You're wasting time.”
After walking a short distance from the house they arrived to the area Marco had designated for the ceremony. Men and women sat on both sides of the isle conversing while Marco stood off to the side talking. Upon seeing Mayah and Jackson approach he smoothed out the jacket to his suit before taking his place at the podium next to the priest.
“I’m loosening my grip on you. I advise you walk for your sake. Marco will be mad if I have to drag his fiance in front of the priest,” he snickered as he walked with her down the aisle.
“Carino, you look beautiful.” Marco commented as she reached him at the podium. He held his hand out expectantly waiting for her to hold his hand so that the ceremony could begin.
Mayah hesitantly placed her hands in his. The moment she dreaded has finally come and there was nothing she could do. She listened to the priest make his speech before asking Marco if he would take her as his bride, flinching at his answer.
“I do,” he said with a grin.
Mayah’s pulse quickened as the priest turned towards Mayah to have her recite her vowels. She tried desperately to tune his voice out focusing on the soft sound of the wind.
“Mayah?” said the priest quietly,
“I'm sorry...” she muttered. “Can you repeat that?” She flinched as Marco clench her hands in anger.
“Do you Mayah, take Marco Montoya to be your lawfully wedded husband, until death do you part ...as long as you both shall live?”
She looked at the priest before looking at Marco with a smug look on his face. She opened her mouth to speak. “I…I”

Adriano
As much as he hated the idea of having to wait longer to rescue Mayah, Adriano stood back towards the back with the guests Marco invited to the wedding. He had to make sure that he continued to blend in until the time came to interrupt the ceremony. He checked his watch. Mayah was five minutes late. He looked up to see Jackson approaching tightly gripping Mayah by the arm.
Seeing them approaching, he angled himself farther behind the guests so that he could avoid being seen. He watched Mayah walk to the runner that led up to Marco. She truly looks like a princess he thought to himself as he admired her beauty in the long gown. He smiled to himself as she started to walk down the aisle, knowing that he would have her back with him soon enough. His smile faded instantly as he noticed her back. New scars that weren't there when he saw her last. Checking his clock again, he sent a text to Roach and Kace to start the countdown.
“Do you Mayah, take Marco Montoya to be your lawfully wedded husband, until death do you part ...as long as you both shall live?” he heard the priest ask.
His heart shattered as he heard Mayah’s voice. “I…I” she stammered.
“Carino,” warned Marco.
Adriano sent a text to Roach with a smile. ‘Now’ read the text. A few seconds later, a loud bang rang out sending guests scrambling in fear.
“Jackson! Go check it out!” shouted Marco as he yanked Mayah by the arm. “Did you plan this? Did you do this?” he yelled.
“Please, I swear I dont know whats going on…” she sobbed as he pulled her towards the house.
Adriano tailed them up the hill, keeping a safe distance. Once Marco and Mayah were a few yards from the pool, another series of bangs rang out. Just as Adriano predicted, Marco turned and started pulling Mayah back towards the wedding venue. The last series of bangs rang out sending Marco back towards the house, this time leaving Mayah behind drawing a second weapon from his waistband. Seeing that he no longer had a grip on her, Adriano rushed behind Mayah covering her mouth to keep her from screaming and whisked her behind nearby bushes.
“Shhhhh, princess… it's me.” he whispered.
“Adriano?” she let out a whisper spinning around to hug him. “You came for me?”
“Of course Princess.” He pressed a kiss to her lips. “Mayah...I need for you to do everything I tell you, understand?”
Mayah nodded as another series of bangs rang out...this time closer to the estate.
“There are going to be a few bombs going off. When they go off you run with me and don't let go. Okay?”
She nodded before flinching as Marco’s voice rang out.
“Mayah! Carino! Come out!” he yelled. “Carino, you remember what happened last time you ran.”
“Get ready,” whispered Adriano. A few moments later an explosion went off towards the left of the pool near the house.
“When I catch you you're going to beg me for mercy!” he yelled.
They listened as Marco’s footsteps faded into the distance. “Now, let's go.” whispered loudly before pulling her out behind the bushes. Mayah kicked off her shoes and took off running behind Adriano. “When we get to the fence, keep an eye out for Roach and Kace.”
“There! Over there, she’s at the gates!”
“Oh God, they saw us!” cried Mayah.
“It's fine. Keep going!” Adriano yelled. He pulled her down the last hill to the fence where Kace and Roach stood. “Set off the last set of explosives. Make sure you do it simultaneously,” he said as Roach pulled cut the last bar on the fence.
Mayah slid through ignoring the burning in her chest from running and her aching feet. “Dad!” she jumped into his arms.
Roach gave her a quick hug before setting her down. “Okay Mayah, you ready to get the hell out of here?” he said with a grin.
Mayah nodded as Adriano pulled his gun. “Princess...you ready?” He pulled her with his free hand. A few moments later an explosion went off between the approaching men from the house and Mayah’s location. “Now!”
Mayah huffed as she ran. Her legs burned as she ran to keep up. Keeping a tight grip on Adriano’s hand they made it to an SUV at the base of the hill near the road. Once everyone had piled into the vehicle, Roach slid into the driver's seat.
“Let's go home” said Roach throwing it into drive and hitting the gas.
