Before Kaden could answer, the door opened again.Skyler stepped inside. She must have come quickly after hearing the news; a few strands of her silver hair had escaped the braid she wore at breakfast. The morning sunlight followed her into the room, softening the tension in the air. “You sent for me?” she asked gently. Kaden’s expression eased immediately. “I didn’t have to. You always find me anyway.”
