--- The change in Ironfang began quietly. Not with orders. Not with proclamations. But with glances. At dawn, the elders gathered near the council stones, speaking in voices low enough that even the morning wind struggled to carry them. Their conversation was threaded with something rare amusement. A young warrior passing by slowed when he noticed one of the elders trying very hard not to laugh. “What?” he whispered. “Nothing,” the elder replied quickly. Which of course meant everything. By midday the conspiracy had spread through the pack like warmth through cold bones. Warriors moved logs into the clearing then moved them again when someone insisted the circle needed to be wider.
