After fifty minutes of signing she finished her work, two hours had passed already. She took out her glasses and rested for a while before dialing her mother's phone number. It rang three times before it was answered. ('I was starting to think that you had already forgotten about us, honey.') she could imagine her mom's dramatic expression in the line. Her mother often does that when she can't manage to call her every day. "Mom, I'm sorry for not calling you these past few days. It's been a busy week. Ambrey's parents were dead from the car accident. I need to catch up with some paperwork for my shop also. How are you two doing there?" she explained while pressing her forehead as she closed her eyes. (' Is she getting better now? I feel sorry for what had happened to her parents. You should stay with her till she can stand by herself again, honey.') Her mother exclaimed worriedly. She met Ambrey two times last time, when she was with Ezye visiting them in New Jersey. The girl was a levity which she liked the most. "I'm trying mom, she's not yet ready to talk or see anyone for now. But I will always be here for her, you know that. Please say hi to dad, where is he anyway?" it was the first time she called without hearing her father's voice in the background. ('Oh. We were at the lake, cupcake. It's 3 in the afternoon here and your dad was sitting far from me, baiting some fish.') Her parents sometimes go for a walk or fishing when they get bored. The last time they were fishing together was four years ago. She smiled as she remembered how happy they were making a smoked fish. "I wish I was there now. I really missed going out with the two of you. I still need to eat lunch, mom. I will call back tomorrow. Stay safe both of you. Love you guys." she uttered when her stomach started to feel hungry. ('It's okay, honey. Take care of yourself there. You should check Ambrey also, she needed you. We'll be fine here. I love you.') the call ended after they both said goodbye. She walked to the door after checking her reflection in the mirror. She was surprised to see Ginrre waiting for her outside, leaning toward his car. Although he looked tired and messed up, he still looked intimidatingly handsome. His hair was messy and the two buttons on his white polo opened. His necktie was unaligned and his pants were crumpled. Ezye stared at him in awe. How could this man look so good from every angle? She thought as she walked her way to him, she could tell he had waited for her a little bit longer just seeing his bored face. He sighed when he saw her walking in his direction. "What are you doing here? And what happened to you? You look like you were being robbed." she asked out of curiosity. He looked at her with disbelief. He couldn't believe she was asking him when she was out of coverage yesterday. Ezye knew she had been ignoring his calls since yesterday and she felt sorry for that. It was just too much for her. She needs a break. "Get in the car. We're going to eat lunch. A lot of work needed to be done so I rushed it all and finished it," he answered as he opened the car. After she hopped inside, he entered the driver's seat and took out the key. "Where are we going?" she asked when he started to turn the steering wheel. She was looking at his tired face while he was driving, answering her questions. "Somewhere quiet and relaxing" he replied shortly. He missed her, even though he was upset about her, ignoring him since yesterday. Ezye understands how he feels. He was trying to lighten up his voice when answering her. She felt bad for adding some burden to him and stayed silent. She was thinking about going to the beach for him to relax, but she was unsure if he wanted to. "How's your best friend?" Gin spoke out after a moment of silence. "She doesn't want to see anyone yet. Her grandma informed me last night. But she started to eat a little, it's good news." she took a deeper breath after answering. There were a lot of things running around her mind, but Gin was the first one to show up. " Do you somehow want to go to a beach? We can have lunch in the cottages there and also relax." she blurted out after thinking. He slowly stopped the car and looked at her. His tired face lightened up after hearing it. "Are you asking me for a date?" He smiled while showing his perfect white teeth. Ezye was speechless for a moment, maybe it was a bad idea asking him. He always takes it to another level. "That'll be good, love. Smart mind." he added as he winked at her before starting the car again. The atmosphere became hotter for her, she was composing herself and trying to hide her red cheeks. Gin wears his broad smile after seeing her, blushing. He just loves how he reacts to everything. "I'll just take a nap. Please do wake me up if we have already arrived. You got a place to go, right? " she reasoned after spacing out for a moment. She didn't wait for him to respond and just closed her eyes. " Sure thing, love. Take some rest. I will call my secretary to ready the place." she heard him answer as she slowly dozed off. Her hunger was gone, all she could think was him and his smile before her vision blacked out. The word 'love' keeps ringing in her ears. She was already getting used to him calling her that, but what she couldn't understand was every time he called her that endearment, her heart jumped in happiness and excitement. She was afraid of having that feeling. She might fall for him in the future and, worse, she might get hurt. She was trying to avoid him but he kept showing up and acting like he was her boyfriend . She was getting confused about what she would feel, she was getting more puzzled about her heart beating abnormally when it came to him.
