The what came before

For what felt like the millionth time she wondered how the hell she got here. This was usually followed by the utter feeling of hopelessness and this time was no different. If only she could remember though. 'Kate number nine needs a refill' Derek's voice quickly jolted me back to reality, 'on it' I called back. I liked Derek he was one of the nice ones here. I worked at the bar 6 nights a week where Derek was the manger. 'What took you so long' barked number nine, a woman and man probably late 30s early 40s. I didnt apologise it's not that sort of place, and anyway what's he going to do sack me?! I wish. As I poured the refill of god knows what- I've never asked and never will i feel it. The chill, the hush, all that's audable is the sound of some 90s rock band through the speakers- it was Thursday- live music night was Saturday. I didnt look up- I knew by now what that meant, hes here. The most repulsive man I have ever known and I belonged to him- me and who knows how many others. At least I think he was the most repulsive man I have even know- hard to tell when you have amnesia and all you know is the now.
