Prologue
Long ago, at the beginning of time, two sets of twins were born. Two reigned over light, and two reigned over dark. Sometimes, humans often referred to this as the Yin Yang. The four siblings ruled together until the birth of the fifth spirit. Life was a sweet thing, kind, and nurturing. And soon, the water spirit came to be.
However, there can never be good without evil. With the birth of these spirits came the monster called Scorpio. The demon was known for his power over venom, bearing a scorpion's tail and a serpent's bite. This demon was known for destroying anything in his wake, killing everything the Spirits held dear. For a while, the spirits lived in fear, unknowing when the end of the devil's terror would finally come to an end.
One day, the young spirits devised a plan to capture this immortal monster, locking him away for what they'd hoped would be forever. These great spirits had gathered every force they could to be rid of HE, who had terrorized their people. Locking him away in the fiery center of the world. They rejoiced.
Millenniums later, a new spirit was born, the spirit reigning over electricity. The Elder Spirits celebrated her birth as no one had ever done for them. For once in their immortal lives, they were fearless. Until one day...

Eight hooded figures circled a large globe tense air hung in the room as they looked down upon it. They no longer smiled as they looked at their fading bodies. They knew what they had to do, but no one wanted to. A loud pounding sound came from the youngest, screaming in frustration. "No! I'm not doing this! How is it fair if I was barely even born?! UGH!" She attempted to slam her hand on the globe, entirely missing it as her hand merely brushed the earth with an electrical current. "Stop it Error. You know you don't have as much as a choice than we do." Said the eldest male voice.
The Elder female nodded, "He is correct, young one. We all don't have a choice." Error growled, static over her voice, "But I wasn't even in the battle! Why do I have to-" She began again? The eldest light twin intercepted with "ENOUGH! Don't you dare talk back!" Error seemed to shrink as she nodded. The Elder female placed her hand on his. "Calm yourself, Blaze. She is young. Her feelings are justified. She has a right to feel the way she does." She removed her hood, looking at both the spirits. Her expression was unreadable.
"But Nightshade. We all have to do this. It's so we can all stay alive." He attempted to defend. She simply smiled, patting his head to calm him, pushing down her own feelings of dread. In a way, she felt guilty for what she was about to do. "Is everyone ready?" Asked Dusk, the spirit of Life. Thanatos, the youngest of the dark twins, nodded. Firefox agreed as well. Error simply looked down. "If I do this to stay alive... my freedom will disappear. I don't want that. But if it means we'll survive this, count me in." Dusk nodded. "Everyone has chosen their hosts. Call their names as you descend into the depths of their minds. I will intertwine their paths." She called eight wisps of light, the souls of their choosing.
Nightshade stepped forward. "Adeline Metztli." A young, purple soul flew to her, curling around her until chains were formed around her wrists and ankles. Nightshade disappeared, leaving behind the scent of her favorite flower.
Thanatos stood and walked to the spot which with elder twin had stood. He straightened his posture and took a deep breath. "Nicholas LeBlanc." A dark, unborn soul flew to him as he collapsed under the weight of the chains, he too disappearing.
Blaze stood, marching to the spot, and said, "Leonel Huitzilopochtli." A blazing orange soul made its way to him, tying its chains around his neck and wrists. He went up in flames and was gone.
Firefox followed, stating the name "Xian Chai." Before being chained and consumed by a crimson soul.
Ash quickly stood and named his boy. "Austin Walter" And dissolved into a pile of ash by a grey soul's chains.
Oceanus and Error hurried quickly, naming their chosen and turned into an electric water current.
It was Dusk's turn as she quietly made her way to her own imprisonment. "I am truly sorry, little one, to have forced such a burden on your shoulders. However, it was something we needed to do. I hope one day you will be able to forgive us all." A tear traced down her cheek as she looked to the single, forest green soul that flew around the globe. Sighing, she dried it as she stood taller as called her host's name. "Quinn Taylor!" She felt a warm, heavy impact against her chest. She didn't need anyone to tell her that the soul was now woven into hers. The feeling of cold, heavy chains appeared on her skin as exhaustion overwhelmed her. She closed her eyes for the next thirteen years, dreading the day that she would awaken from her slumber.
