How to act accordingly to rejection

Because today is your birthday, it calls for a celebration. A surprise awaits, what could it be? Aurelie excitedly read out loud the note left on her pink bedside table, while suppressing a squeal of excitement. Today is her seventh birthday and of course, her parents would plan something grande for their little princess. Having that in mind, she skips towards her bathroom to have a nice shower and change into the fanciest dress on her closet, a baby pink tulle dress with sparkly synthetic stones. Putting on her headband with a tiara, Aurelie runs down the stairs and towards their kitchen. Already being greeted by a wave of tasty goodness from the pile of pancakes waiting for her. Passing by the doorway, she was expecting to see her parents waiting for her. Her mom behind the kitchen counter, cooking up the remaining pancake batter, her father and brother, already wolfing down towers of pancakes dripping with golden maple syrup. But there were no signs of her family, only an enormously high pile of pancake glazed with rich chocolate syrup. Although a bit dissapointed that her family wasn't there to greet her, the extremely delicious looking pancakes made up for that. So she hop on a stool and started digging right into the pancakes. Not knowing it would be the last good memory of her childhood. As a big explosion resonated from the woods, followed by a series of incoherent screams. Only one voice loud enough to overcome the noise. "We are under attack!!" Aurelie, having thrown off guard by the explosion, fell off the high kitchen stool, her ankle bending into an awkward angle. Tears immediately sprung into her eyes as her foot burn with hot pain. Consumed with fear and hurt, she calls out for her mom while the rest of the pack run towards safety. "Mommy!! Mommy, please help!" she wailed helplessly between her sobs. Her small body trembling with fear and anxiety. She cried and cried but no pack member paid her mind. It was either they were busy running for their lives or battling with huge viscous wolves, hungry for blood. Her cries were muffled by the growls and screams from the battlefield in front of her. Gone was the flowers that adorned their home, their beauty were crushed by the fighting wolves with blood painted on them. At this point, Aurelie was hyperventilating, her sobs making it even harder for her to breathe. Amidst the battle, one wolf with raging blood eyes seemed to have heard her and whipped it's head to her location. Like a deer caught in headlights, Aurelie's eyes turned big and she stopped breathing for a while, in fear that if she release even one wisp of air, the wolf will come running towards her. The wolf with evil glint on its eyes, turned it's body towards her direction. Walked in a slow predator-like manner, as if Aurelie was it's prey. Having realized this, Aurelie frantically tried to get on her feet and hide somewhere. But the burning pain on her foot prevents her from moving any further. The wolf was getting closer and closer, until it stopped about a meter in front of her. Crunches it's body and prepared to leap for the little girl covered with sweat and tears. Aurelie's cries grew louder, frantically calling for the help of her parents to take her away from the beast in front of her. However, her cries only seem to motivate the predator ahead as its mouth twisted into a sadistic grin. And with final desperate call, it leaped towards Aurelie with a full on growl, Aurelie helplessly covering her face with her arms waiting for the pain about to come.
