The Horrible Betrayal
“You need some company, don’t you? The queen is on a trip, and I’m so sure you wouldn’t mind having a woman keep your bed warm tonight,” she winked at him and grinned, twisting her left leg over the other. Her charming green eyes remained steady on him, and her blonde hair hung carelessly down to her shoulders while she gently tugged at the ends of her skimpy nightwear.
Erick gasped, looking shocked. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing at that moment—a servant asking to keep his bed warm? “Have you lost your senses or what? How dare you utter such words to me! Leave my room this minute. I wouldn’t want to lose my temper.” He tried to keep his rage under control, unable to comprehend what was happening. Sitting at the edge of his bed, a burning cigar in his left hand, he had just been about to go to sleep after enjoying some tobacco and sipping his favorite glass of red wine.
“Not now, my king. Don’t resist me. I know you want me as much as I want you. I’ve seen the way you look at me lately,” she said, smiling.
“What are you talking about? Get the hell out of my room!” he ordered, pointing at the door.
She chortled. “Not so fast, not tonight,” she mumbled, walking quickly toward him. Before he could react, she put her arms around his neck and forcefully kissed his lips.
Erick froze, his body trembling as though electrified, completely dumbfounded. In that moment, sharp red rays left the maiden’s eyes and flashed into his.
A guard, having heard Erick yell, pushed the door open and gasped at the sight of a maiden kissing the king. He bowed his head in shock. “I’m sorry, Your Majesty. I heard you yell… I was curious…”
“That doesn’t make you stupid! Don’t you ever walk into my chambers like that without announcing your presence!” the king thundered, glaring at him.
The guard bowed humbly, feeling very uncomfortable. “Yes, Your Majesty…” he murmured, leaving quickly and shutting the large door behind him.
“What is your name?” Erick asked, turning to the maiden now sitting on his right lap.
She chuckled. “Nina. My name is Nina.”
The king smiled. “You have a beautiful name. I think I’m in love with you.”
Nina rolled her eyes. Finally, someone is playing a better game here, she thought. She turned to him, cupping his face in her hands. “You don’t think you love me—you love me,” she said smoothly, leaning closer and wrapping her arms around his neck.
“Tell me you want me, and you’ll have me all to yourself,” she whispered, kissing his lower lip.
“You’re so beautiful. I wonder why I didn’t notice you all this time. I want you,” he muttered, his lips on hers as he squeezed her waist and pulled her closer. They soon got lost in the warmth of each other’s arms.

Hours later…
The king was fast asleep after a long night with Nina. She gradually got out of bed and headed straight to the restroom. Grinning, she spoke in witch tongue: “La embra, la efram.” It was a deadly incantation meaning fulfillment and accomplishment. She looked straight into the mirror, and the image of a middle-aged woman appeared.
Nina nodded with a victorious smile. “I did it, Mother. I did it.”
The woman smiled back. Her name was Maria, a deadly witch with fine gray hair who lived on the outskirts of the kingdom. “I knew you would do it. You’re just getting started, my child.”
Nina nodded, rubbing her hand on her stomach. “I can feel it—I can feel his seed building in me already.”
Maria’s smile widened. “That is a good sign. You’ve made me so proud, Nina. Now that you have him under your leash, he’s your puppy. Do with him as you wish, but ensure everyone remains in their rightful place.”
They both burst into laughter.
Nina sighed. “They will all taste my wrath, Mother. I’ll make sure of it.”
Maria vanished before Nina could blink, and Nina smiled, rubbing her stomach gently. “Let’s see how the stupid queen asks me to massage her feet henceforth.”

Four weeks later…
“How could you, Erick? How dare you betray me!” Queen Anne yelled, hitting him repeatedly on the chest. He staggered a bit, taking a step backward and rolling his eyes in disgust. It was clear he felt no regret for what he had done. Instead, he seemed to believe he had every right to act as he did.
She stood in front of him, furious, her heart splitting apart with anguish. She shook her head in disbelief as tears threatened to crawl out of her eyes. How could a female alpha pretend nothing was wrong when her mate had betrayed her? She pointed fiercely at him, her voice trembling. “I just can’t believe this! After everything we’ve been through together, you went for my maid, Nina! You knew the implications of having c**************e of her, yet you still did it, Erick! What came over you? I demand answers!”
Erick slammed his hand on the golden armrest of his throne, his eyes darkening with anger. “Enough of your ranting, Anne! How dare you address me by my first name?”
Her eyes widened in shock. “Since when did it become an issue for me to call you by your name? I am your mate! Your wife! Your queen!”
“If you can’t get used to the way things are now, then leave for good. I won’t have you questioning my decisions. I am the king of this kingdom, and I can take as many wives as I want. If you can’t accept that, then get lost already!”
She gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. “You’re asking me to divorce you because I can’t accept a maid as your second wife? Erick, if I’ve done something wrong, then I’m sorry. Please, think about me—think about our children! You promised me you would never embrace polygamy. Why are you letting this little riffraff tear our family apart?”
“And that little riffraff is carrying his child,” a female voice said behind her.
Queen Anne turned, her face twisting in fury at the sight of Nina standing there, her hand gently rubbing her stomach.
“You little witch! I trusted you and treated you well, yet you had the guts to betray me!” Queen Anne screamed.
“Our husband, Queen Anne. Stop personalizing it,” Nina said, giggling softly.
King Erick laughed. “You can say that again, my love.”
Queen Anne gasped, turning toward her husband upon hearing what he had just said. It was true after all—she had lost her husband to another woman, and it hurt even more that the woman was her maid. Accepting that was something she simply couldn’t picture herself doing. She shook her head in denial, turning towards Nina as she walked gently toward her.
“You dared to sleep with my husband after everything I’ve done for you? How could you be so ungrateful?” Queen Anne spat, her voice rising with fury. “I can’t wait to rip your head off.” Her eyes flashed a deep blue, and in the blink of an eye, she transformed into a white werewolf, ready to attack.
Nina didn’t look scared. Instead, she took a step back, her gaze fixed on King Erick, wondering if he was truly seeing what was about to unfold. Queen Anne’s claws extended long and sharp, her canine teeth bared. Just as she lunged at Nina, Nina let out a loud cry.
At that moment, King Erick jumped into the scene, transforming into a brown werewolf with blue eyes. This form was one Queen Anne loved—he was undeniably handsome and masculine, even in his werewolf state.
He immediately attacked his Luna, and a fierce fight broke out between them. Queen Anne wasn’t ready to back down; she only wanted to hurt Nina, perhaps to make her feel even a fraction of the pain she herself was enduring. Her heart was soaked in anguish, and she couldn’t resist the urge to lose control.
King Erick didn’t hold back. He fought her with the force of an enemy, determined to keep her away from Nina. He slapped her across the face with his claws, leaving a deep gash that bled profusely, but he showed no signs of stopping. Half of Queen Anne’s face was drenched in red, but still, she didn’t retreat.
On the other side, Nina stood smugly, watching the violence unfold. She wished for King Erick to kill his wife so she could finally have him all to herself. The white fur from Queen Anne’s body littered the ground as King Erick became even more violent. It was hard to believe these two had once been sweet lovers who adored each other, but a stranger—Nina—had turned their world upside down.
With a furious howl, King Erick’s claws dug deep into a part of Queen Anne’s neck, signaling her to yield. But Queen Anne wouldn’t give up. She struggled fiercely, attempting to break free.
“Kill her already!” Nina screamed, desperate for the fight to end in Queen Anne’s death. She didn’t care that they had once been a peaceful couple; all that mattered to her now was securing her place in the family, with the king.
Realizing she couldn’t escape, Queen Anne calmed herself and reverted to her human form. She sobbed silently, her shoulders shaking. King Erick shifted back into his human form, panting heavily.
Nina rushed to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. She wiped the blood from his face, kissing him passionately. “That was so sweet of you, but I wonder why you didn’t kill her. She disobeyed you and was willing to fight you.”
King Erick sighed, looking down at his naked body. “Not yet, Nina. Not yet.” He turned and hurried out of the throne room, heading for his chambers.
Nina sighed and walked toward where Queen Anne had curled up. She looked exhausted, naked, wounded, and miserable, but Nina didn’t care. “Trust me, you were lucky today. But you won’t be next time. I’ll make sure your life is snapped out of that pathetic body of yours.” She spat and walked away, laughing.
Queen Anne burst into uncontrollable tears. If only she could wake up from this horrible nightmare, she would be more than grateful. But it wasn’t a nightmare—it was her harsh new reality. It was clear now that she had lost both her husband and her Alpha. She shook her head, bitterness rising inside her. He had never hurt her before, but today, he had treated her like an enemy.
She bit her lip, gritting her teeth. More tears flowed as she muttered, “That’s not my husband. That isn’t the werewolf I made my vows to. Erick would never attack me or treat me like this. He would never break my heart or defile our sacred bond.”
She ran shaky hands over her face, noticing blood staining her hands. More blood dripped from her face. Her mouth hung open as she stared at the sight. She hadn’t noticed the maids rushing into the throne room with a blanket until it was too late. Dizzy from the pain, she could barely make out their shocked faces. Before she could say anything, she passed out in their arms.
